  • Mind you! You do the job at your own risk or you might want to have the job done by a licensed engineer.

That is the heat exchanger, not the burner. What happened to the heat shield?

Good job, but that's the heat exchanger not the burner!

thanks for sharing with the world of D.I.Y s. who probably won't put seals back correctly and cause a problem.

Buy the proper cleaning kit from Worcester..
Also on the newer cdis there is a plate when you remove the front cover. 👍

    Where is the inner plate?

I think this is a risky move, as the proper cleaning tool is a flat bar with holes and a still plastic loop brush. To subject the neat exchanger gills to an abrasive like this could end badly and is definitely not recommended. You might get away with it the first time but you may be hastening the demise of the HE.....

That not proper heat exchanger clean, main heat ex consist off doing full strip clean if fan pressure or gas is low. Consist off using special cleaning tool and cleaning above and WASHING IT down from above and the side door. Check burner and also check bearing plate not sticking is good practice, clean condense and recharge vessel, check high and low emission and gas rate aslo fan pressure test, the rest of 26.9 checks..
What happened to the plate? Are you gas Safe or competent? Doesn't seem to me from the video?

Safe isolation test? Flushing through the cell and trap? Checking the electrodes? The gasket MUST be changed. Using the correct cleaning tool and brush for the job, not some diy bodge tool? Using a gas sniffer to check the integrity of seals? You have missed so much off what is correct proceedure you should delete this video or remake it to stop diyers killing their boiler or at worse themselves.
