You got to break the pawns up with your own pawns. Aim for the end of the chain. It's also not great over extending pawns.

Man i laughed so hard in that first match 😂😂 when u did the DRAW..(U really missed the FORKING of queen nd rook by ur knight also mate in 1 nd 2)..
By the way i will give some simple tips to easily be at 800elo or to improve...
    1) Control the centre
    2) Develop ur minor pieces..
    3) Castle ASAP
4)Knight on the rim is dim..
5)Dont move any piece twice or unnecessarily
6)In lower elo TRADING PIECES OF EQUAL value/point is good for simplification
    7) Knights r good in closed position nd bishops for open ones..
8)Develop ur ROOKS in the centre or any good open file
    9) Make sure ur every pieces r well protected ( dont leave HANGING PIECES)
    10) If u find hanging pieces just see after u take what opponent might play and if inothing comes in ur mind then take it..
Lastly do some basic puzzles of the themes : PIN, SKEWERS, FORK , DOUBLE ATTACK WITH QUEEN ND ROOK..
Next learn some common endgames like : king+rook, king+queen, double rook..(no need to learn double queen since its too easy)😂😂
And last do some MATE IN 1 PUZZELES..
Also check out levys 24 checkmate patterns ..
And thats it ur r done to improve..🎉🎉🎉

The french defense can only be played after 1. e4. After 1. d4, it becomes an entirely different opening. It's a good opening for most of the rating ladder, but you will have to learn a bit of theory (learn the advance variation, exchange variation, and classical variation as those are the most common replies). Against 1. d4 I'd recommend playing the king's indian defense. There's a lot of theory but most of it doesn't matter below 1500, you basically just play the same set up everytime. I play both the french defense and king's indian defense at the high 1700 low 1800 range with decent success, and if you play the french as black you'll likely just win white's centre pawns and get an advantage early in the game

Maybe the second guy wanted to mate with two rooks to avoid stalemate with a queen.

I wouldn't worry too much about all these openings with this rating. It doesn't matter what opening you play. Just solve puzzles to get tactical ideas. Would be enough. Openings are overrated .

I see that you are missing some basic principles of chess. You play great in the opening but later in the middlegame and endgame you lack basic principles which cost you the advantage. French defense is very complicated opening with a lot of advanced ideas i think that you should stay with London or Kings Indian Attack as white and with Black you just need to improve your CaroKann. czcams.com/video/nXyJdetptXg/video.html and czcams.com/video/XZeTKbB_LWg/video.html If you use the knowledge from these two videos and do 15 minutes of puzzles every day, you will definitely exceed 700 elo. Its okay to lose, the more u lose the more u learn from mistakes. Keep grinding 💪💪
