They thought it was too wierd, and the girls and Teddy Park, their writer/producer, had to fight for it. I agree. It is wierd. A lot of their stuff has wierd instrumentation and time changes. That's one of the reasons I love the song. It doesn't bang you over the head, but just kind of sidles up to you and says "Hey Boy..." This and "Boom ba yah" for debut songs has got to be the most knockout debut of any group. Have fun...

Boombayah was released after Whistle so is not really a debut song but it has all the hard beats of the YG DNA. Quite a different start for the 2 groups.
