    Just FYI the Z8 does not do in camera slow motion processing in other words you could shoot 120 fr/second but then you have to put it in the computer to slow it down you can't send a file from camera in slow motion. Seems pretty stupid but that's how they roll

    Can you do the 120 frames per second with a manual macro lens? I cannot get my z8 to play back slow motion. I am not sure if it is recording in 4k 120.

      Yes, you can shoot 120fps with any lens and it doesn’t playback on your camera in slow mo. You need to convert the speed in post production

      Hey Pascaul - the jpgs straight out of camera are really good. I sometimes use the picture controls to create them and then right to SnapBridge for immediate distribution depending on the gig.

    Wait for 15 years Nikon Z8 cameras still do not have flip screen to vary-angle selfies, body size and weight are big and heavy, I have to change to Canon for R6II camera which is lighter and have vary-angle flip screen.

      Everyone is not fan of vary-angle screen for photography ,I for once . Canon is great but no one matches what Nikon gives you straight out of the camera .

      r6ii isnt going to be doing any sort of selfie video though only photo cause that IBIS wobble will ruin every shot. So in that case i still choose Z8 and use external screen

      If you are buying a "selfie camera" for $3,496.95 you have money for a dedicated selfie-system

    The Z8 with the battery grip is a Z9. Why bother?

    • @Brettflorens
      @Brettflorens  Před rokem +1

      Hi P.O - The battery grip is removable so if you are doing a gig where you need lighter weight then you can take it off - if you need it then put it on.

      @@Brettflorens I understand that. My point is that people seem to be comparing the Z8 directly to the Z9, when it's a given that it has some limitations compared to the Z9 on purpose, by design.

    Buy the Z8 to have a lighter and more compact body than the Z9 with next to zero compromises. But adding arguably the ugliest looking grip, the MB-N12 to the Z8 is like “reinventing the wheel”. This test show nothing a Z9 can not do.
    As a promotion for Nikon Z8, one should show why photographers should buy a Z8 to go with their Z9, instead of a Z9, or to move from their beloved D850 to a worthy Nikon mirrorless, the Z8.

    • @adrianmorton9598
      @adrianmorton9598 Před rokem +1

      Think that's pretty obvious what the Z8 offers compared to the Z9. So many photographers were put off with the size of the Z9 with the integrated grip, personally which I prefer. The Z8 with the smaller form meets those many photographers who didn't want the bulk of the Z9. However if you are are shooter like me who can't justify multiple bodies I have the option to go light with the Z8 for landscape, portrait, editorial stuff etc however when shooting sport where I use 400mm f2.8 throw on the grip for better handling and the extended battery life with the two batteries; which I suspect will still be half the time of a Z9 single battery, so it is a much more flexible option.

      @@adrianmorton9598 my comments were made towards Mr Florens’ video. All your counterpoints are legitimate, but is it the reason why Nikon is introducing the Z8, to give photographers more options? Mr Florens’ made not mentions of any reasons to get a Z8 instead of a Z9. Spent the first half of the video about the benefits of the MB-Z12.
      Both the Z8 and the Z9 are excellent cameras, I am glad Nikon shooters now have more choices to cater to their needs.
      Take care!

    • @Brettflorens
      @Brettflorens  Před rokem +1

      Hi Bob, Thanks for your feedback. Firstly, I am not promoting the Z8, just giving my opionion. I agree that the grip is not the sexiest. I also agree that the Z8 can't do anything that the Z9 can, but it is cheaper, so maybe that's why they made it. If you only afford one body then this is the best of both.
