fell back into a Burial hole...man i need this dude right now...this Corona Virus rubbish is really beginning to take it's toll on my happiness...all my love to those out there feeling the same x
Charlotte L Good stuff! So weird to see comments from so long ago; I hope the last few years have been good to you. Burial’s been with me for the last 9 years, all the ups and downs, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
People say "he must still use sound forge because it's still all slightly off beat or imperfect" but you can achieve that in any DAW. Just because you're using a sequencer doesn't mean everything has to be sequenced.
Street lyrics / poetry, concrete compassion and ethnic zeitgeist. Great track. Feels like turning the temp cold after a red hot shower. Great, truly great.
+Robert Szordykowski All I hear is a 2-step Minimal ambience track Where do you hear growling and rapping? Its a great instrumental for any type of genre you like.
@@mealz1557 ok thanks for the correction. Do you always laugh at people that get things wrong though? Bet it made your day lmao. Any ideas where he sampled the lyrics from?
@@untrue7295 i dont think so dude, those are the lyrics and lmao is just a sort of "ahaha, hey man jus sayin (insert topic of correction)" but it definitely doesn't sound like it was meant to be taken badly
I recall him saying that this tune was the only one he ever used a sequencer for too. Listen to it, it's much more hard quantized than his other stuff.
Dude... Hyperdub is the name of the record label Burial is Burial, if want to get technical then it's 2-Step garage mixed with a bit Dubstep But again, Burial has his own genre
knowing what we know about Burial its easy to dismiss Garage in the year 2012. People are right to consider this garage- its shows many of the conventions of those 97" releases. If this was on youtube as some unknown person then we'd definitely be calling it garage, the influences are undeniable
That is true and I did not open up a whole new level of thought. It is my way of thinking. I have never listened to the genre, only how the music sounds. It is like another dimension which everyone deciphers differently. Only thing the genre has place in is the search engine on your computer.
@wielderofdrumstix garage is what made dubstep. and burial has always been a sub-genre within dubstep! anyway hope that clears things up for you... least the nubs know!!
@fintobin so drum n bass is dubstep too? because drumm n bass uses kind of the same sounds too... This is garage mane, not dubstep because it hase a few similarities. Labeling music is just handy. so people who search for a certain sound can find it easily. personally I do not want to hear dubstep anymore. But I like future garage so I search for future garage..
this is definitely not dubstep for sure hah, but this is what we would call futuregarage now, but seeing how this track was made back in 2006, yes he was very unique in his own way and it was fucking amazing, but you can hear the 2step garage influence, He definitely brought upon and contributed about 99% to futuregarage
I believe it is foolish to argue whether something after one point is dubstep or garage. The styles began to blend into eachother and then again on styles like wonky and grime. We're better off not dividing things unnecessary and just labeling it UK Bass
There is no such thing as "music genre". They are all sounds that your ear receives and your brain makes them "sound" like this. The best music is the one that uses this phenomenom to create most pleasant sounds (personally) for your brain and, troughout that, your soul and thinking. There is nothing to argue about. Just hear those sounds.
fuck yeah listen to this man! he knows his stuff!. And to everyone read a fucking interview to Burial you may understand his music better. To most of you: the shit u call dubstep _now_ -like Skrillex and his idiot haircut- wasn´t the 2006 dubstep. Kode-9 for example but again Burial of couse was unique and groundbreaking. And 2step and garage were not mere "influences", but a part of his life and past, come on ppl get informed if you like the artist. And agreed Future Garage is BS.
No. There is such a thing as a music genre. Just because you put it in speech marks doesn't mean you've somehow subverted it and opened up a whole new level of thought. The fucking word 'genre' was coined to describe different types of music.
Ok so basically im really late with this but i thogut why not just comment anyways. As far as im concerned its some sort of lofi future garage mixed with 2 step
and if you like music you should stop bitching about what genre this is and what genre that is and this is influenced by that and that is merely a weak copy of this.. the artists still make music because of their love for music, and what their music does to people. i don't think they make music for you people to start bitching about genres and subgenres.

hope ur ok dude
He's back, in pog form
masterpiece. simply the best Burial's track.
i can't stop listening to this
Charlotte This is LOVE music. When there is nothing but dust on this planet, there will always be Burial :) xx
Hope you still haven’t stopped, half a decade later.
Cato still haven’t stopped! love Burial!

They say that classical music makes you smarter. I believe Burial has succeeded in that too.
still such a great tune, just timeless sound....keep me on the right path in dark hours.
Burial is fosho a legend
💯
fun fact: this is the only Burial track that was made on a traditional DAW.'
and how were made the other tracks?
Ilya Antonov Sony Sound Forge.
People say "he must still use sound forge because it's still all slightly off beat or imperfect" but you can achieve that in any DAW. Just because you're using a sequencer doesn't mean everything has to be sequenced.
@@willbournerv2259 he used sound forge because he said that DON'T know how to use a daw.
@@cyberghost_00 what does that have to do with my comment

Probably my all time favourite dubstep track.
Burial is one of the reasons why naming styles doesnt matter at all!!
Such a beautiful sound.
Maximum respect to the South London originators
it's "i'm so empty inside, and my tears i can't hide"

Tracks like Ego certainly use a sequencer. A long time ago this was true, but I believe he has probably been using DAWs for Street Halo era - Present
If this song was a person I'd bang it, hard! Spent about a year away from this tune and coming back to it blows me away with nostalgia
Amazing
Futuristic bassmusic with soul from another dimension.. Pay close attention 🔥😀😀😀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😀😀🔥😀😀😀😀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤟🏽🤟🏽

actually it's what real dubstep sounds like
Nooo Future Garage derives from Dubstep genre
they're close but future garage is not a dubstep genre
