Still remember the launch demo of Condemned for the 360, back when developers still allowed us to play their games before buying (crazy right). Eventually led me to buy the game, what a fantastic and detailed setting. The graphics really felt next gen and the game had a lot of love put into it by the developers. Condemned 1 I thought was a great game. Nice mystery, good combat, and the investigation stuff was great. 2 on the other hand was not that good to me. Too complicated and some of the levels not fun. Though the part with the bear is freaking terrifying.
Condemned was the first game I bought with my launch 360. Still have that copy on my shelf, the 360 didn’t even last 8 months. This is a game that could use a true modern remaster, it’s very underrated.
Condemned 2 had the best fps hand to hand combat mechanics ever. It just felt really brutal, and strategic when going against a group. stun a guy by smacking him in the face with a pipe, chuck the pipe at a guys legs so he falls over while he's running at you, kick the first guy down, and pick up the pipe and finish the guy who fell over. And that's not even getting into the actual combos and blocking when going one on one with one guy. If they kept it more grounded, dropped the emphasis on guns in the later half,(although gunplay was good, but it loses it's charm if you're mowing down enemies in a fps brawler.) and away from demons, or space creatures or whatever, or just made it more subtle, kept it more in the psychological horror vein instead of creepy clowns, and black tar monsters, it would have been a hit.
The first condemned scared me to death as a teenager. I remember taking forever just to get anywhere because I was terrified of enemies being around every corner.

Sadly never got to play the sequel since it never came to PC. Remember hoping it would back in the day but that never happened. Still have not played the sequel...
Condemned 1 was my first game ever to get all achievements on Xbox. 970 in total, not 1000! It is illegal in Germany to this day so I had to get an import version from austria in 2006. I love this game
Couple of years ago, I had the pleasure to play Condemned 2 on my Xbox 360. I loved the improvements they made for the sequel and I'm sad we will never get the continuation it deserves.
I loved both games, the second one in particular. It terrified a young teenaged me. Especially the part where you look in a mirror and something moves behind you. I still think about it to this day.
Of all the games remastered with the unreal engine, of all the games to get a part 3, of all the games to bring back, condemned shudve been the first. A truly underrated series, this gem needs to b given serious attention again‼️
Even tho we may never see another Condemned game anytime soon, i would love to see someone do a spiritual successor of the games because i loved that dark atmospheric feeling, the combat and the detective segments
There is a very interesting Eastern European game called Cernaja Metka, that seems very clearly inspired by Condemned. I regard it as kind of unofficial sequel. It's a great game.

I loved Claw. That game still holds up
Loved this game back in the day really underrated.
I love this series. It was very unheralded but had great quality and was unforgettable to me
Amazing work as always. I love your videos :)
One thin - your clip of Scott A Steinberg is the wrong Scott Steinberg :)
I loved both games, the second one in particular. It terrified a young teenaged me. Especially the part where you look in a mirror and something moves behind you. I still think about it to this day.
17:52 LMAO "youre a drunk and a liability" ... "here take this and get familiar with your weapon"
Lol I put a comment hoping for this about 3 videos ago, thank you for answering my prayers
The bear level on bloodshot is so memorable.
That first ten seconds is the bloodiest cold open ever. 10/10
I'd love to see another one of these games
