That's what I really admire about Paul Gilbert..Unlike a lot of other guitar players with incredible technique, he really understands music. He's an educated musician. That's why he continues to get better, and better.

He's absolutely right about Eddie. He's one of the most swingin', funky-ass guitar players...and that's in his rhythm parts and his solos. In the 80s, jealous critics of his playing would say stupid shit about "It's all flash blah-blah." Shows you how much people don't listen sometimes.

Think like a drummer. Sounds like paul and Dizzy are on the wave length. Dizzy said there are two kinds of musicians; thems whatt plays a note then look for a rhythm. And thems what plays a rhythm then looks for a note.
