Great episode! You might feel like you haven’t got much to show for the last two weeks but it’s really because you’ve been very carefully redoing things that are not to your liking. That’s twice as much work. Everything you have redone has been successful. I admire the meticulous way you make sure everything turns out right. Your work is always an inspiration to me.

Thank you very much for watching and the encouragement :) I've actually been taking it a bit slow these past couple of these (I hurt my shoulder) and you're totally right! I got to step back and really enjoy and appreciate my recent work - very happy to have redone them :)

Couldn’t agree more with the above comment, done well rather than ‘done a lot’ should be something we all put the most effort into and I find it much more interesting and helpful to hear how you tackle the mistakes and unexpected problems. I’m actually finding myself unsubscribing from the sort of podcasts that just rattle off a list of conveyer belt makes, heavy on FO’s but very light on detail. I’m watching you from Brisbane with some undyed yarn in my hands that is from a one family farm and a flock descended from an early 1800 Polwarth heritage breed. I’m thinking about all the time stretching back through these threads, all the garments that have been made and all the family members through those centuries who have taken care of those sheep through good times and bad. I’m deliberately trying to just slow down with this project and really enjoy and appreciate it. It won’t be cool enough to wear here until about June anyway so it’s a great pick for a slow knit! I’m even knitting my swatch in a leisurely manner which really isn’t like me😅 p.s I have the same issues knitting for my 6ft 1 broad shouldered husband! I’ve tried a couple of experiments; split hem longer back, just longer, short rows at the neck etc I’m going to try adding some short rows at the bottom back of his next one, not too much ‘high low’ just enough to make it actually fit fingers crossed 😊

wow thank you so much for the thoughtful comment! I absolutely love that perspective -- I think combining social media and knitting can sometimes feel very counter intuitive in terms of the emphasis on productivity, speed and trends and so it's really nice to take a step back and think about some of the inherent traits of knitting, the tradition and culture throughout the years :)
Oh I hadn't even thought of short rows at the bottom back, that's a really good idea! I've been reading a Japanese book on sweater adjustments (I'll be talking about that in ep. 32) and it has been really interesting to learn about the possibilities and limitations. Best of luck with all of your work! :))

I've been having to redo some projects as well so I'm in the same boat as you. Its frustrating but when you finally get to a point where the garments actually looks proper its so exciting :) best part of knitting is that you can redo, undo, alter things by unraveling so thats a bonus!

Yess totally!! I've been spending the last couple of days just unravelling and re-hanking yarn from projects I don't think I'll ever finish and it has been a great feeling :)

Hello. A Danish Anne here. Well pronounced! Much better than most English speakers. If in doubt go for Anna, to my ear it's the lack of vowel after the first part of the name that means I don't respond to it. We have that name here too, and spell it "Ann".
