yes! ppl always want you to wear something that makes your figure more hourglass shaped or that makes your outfit properly balanced. those are just unneccesary limits
Yeah, she’s got this philosophy that people can elevate the features they want in their body, rather than going off the social standard. If you like your long leg, if you like you broad shoulders if you like you whatever go and find clothes that compliment it-don’t hide it bc then you can develop a unique style that fits to you. It’s like a nee form of self love.
It's so hard to find jeans if you have a small waist and wide hips and big thighs. But i'll be sure to take these tips on how to find the perfect jeans
I have the same body type! I like wide legs too, but two of my favorites fits are the slouch fit from Zara and the skinny? mom fit from GAP. I find that they accentuate my waist and just compliments my body type more compared to the popular straight legged jeans :))
I’ve got a tiny waist with big hips and thighs and it’s soooooo hard to find something that fits perfectly. Like even straight jeans on me is the same as skinny jeans cuz of my thighs being too big. My favourite style right now is wide leg!
i have the exact same problem! most jeans just look so awkward fitting on me bc they're really tight on my thighs but bunchy on my waist. I'm tall too so other jeans stop at my shins and don't go up high enough and it makes my long legs look so short and dumpy. wide leg jeans are my saving grace they literally balance out my figure perfectly
I expected something about body types when I clicked on it, so I was sceptical to even start the video. It was very refreshing to see this without mixing body types at all💛
I like skinny, tapered and boyfriend jeans. My extra weight concentrates heavily in my butt and thighs, so shapes with wider boot just make me feel even bigger from the waist down, like there's no balance. Lately I've had such a hard time finding jeans that don't have holes in them. It seems like all stores in my city embraced the trend and it's impossible to find normal jeans except in expensive stores that never have my size.
I have same issue, pear shapes united. I found that for us jeans should neither be too skintight (especially when you have a heavy butt and slim legs), neither too much like a bag. So, boyfriend, straight, slim fit and "banana" jeans are the way to go. Also I prefer mid- or high rise (but not some recent ridiculously high rise that reaches almost to armpits)
I also have larger thighs and butt, and (if we have the same/similar body type) when you have jeans that have an equal width for the thighs and jean cuff it makes your legs look a lot thinner. This is because your ankle will look thin compared to the width of the jean cuff. So I usually get jeans that go straight from my thigh to my jean cuff. It’s all about accentuating the beauty your body already has, hope this helps!! :)
I’ve just resold 90% of my jeans and have bought all new cuts of straight leg, stove pipe/wide straight leg, and flare, all high waisted all no stretch denim. I will never buy high end jeans that are not 100% thick cotton again.
@@monabrandes2066 Because I invested a lot of money in stretchy high end jeans (Paige and Hundson) and they lasted me 2 years before deforming vs a pair of 100% cotton jeans that have lasted me 9 years that i just now resold, with no deformation. I make sure to minimize the washing of my clothes, to hang dry, and treat them with care but the ones with a lot of stretch in them are just not as durable as the cotton ones; in fading, fraying, deforming, and in holding shape till the next wash. Jeans are just a personal thing, some people need the stretch others need the structure.
I never realized that jeans should be 100% cotton to get the good stiff denim until I watched Ashley's channel, bestdressed. I LOVE her channel too, her fashion tips are so helpful (for me, at least). So I'm currently in the process of assessing my jeans -- and realizing almost all of them are crap 😂😂
Straight and boyfriend jeans are my ultimate favourites followed by mom jeans but to be honest you can't really tell the difference in found a pair of straight leg jeans on sale on hollister and I love them to death :)
I've been bullied alot in school for being skinny and for my long thin legs. That insecurity has definitely stopped me from wearing clothes that I want to, this year I'm going to try get into wearing jeans again even though I don't feel comfortable at all wearing them...feels like that's all people think about my legs. Anyone else struggle with wearing anything that shows your figure?
For years I've been searching for MY jean. I'm so happy that denim companies are finally providing range again after, what feeeeeels like, a solid 10 years of exclusively super skinny styles. My favorites that I've found recently are Acne Studios Mece - high rise, super snug on top, button fly, straight leg and no stretch. I was lucky enough to find my pair on TheRealReal. I also love COS high-waisted tapered jeans. Thank you for continuing to put out great videos!
My favorite fit is no jeans at all. 😂 no, honestly, for the past few months I just had no incentive to wear jeans anymore. No matter what fit, I always find them uncomfortable. 😞
Same! I started wearing only skirts a few months ago (veeery hot where I live) and the last time I put on my "favorite" jeans I was sore for a full day afterwards.
if you like the look of jeans and only the comfort is your problem, maybe try the slouchy pull and bear jeans! they feel like trousers but look really vintage jeans! I bought a blue pair on vacation and I just ordered another black pajr because that’s how much I love them :))
I usually wear black leggings and that's it. I use to wear jeggings but I'm on a weight loss journey and I keep shrinking so I figured leggine black or any yoga type like are better. I usually try finding black jeggings they look professional 😁
i love straight and flare jeans. they usually give off a more vintage style which i love. i try to only buy 100% cotton jeans because they last way longer than stretch jeans and structured jeans feel nice and sturdy on me.
Definitely not true. I’m skinny and there are certain styles that aren’t ideal. Unless boyfriend jeans are on the tighter size, you just look like you’re swimming in them; which makes you look sloppy. Also, for those who are insecure about their shape, skinny jeans show everything and can be uncomfortable.
I really want to get more creative with my denim, but I have a hard time branching out from skinny jeans. Idk if it's just because skinny jeans were like the only way to go in my high school, but whenever I put on looser jeans I feel frumpy.
I like straight and tapered type jeans bc I don’t have very long legs and I don’t really like showing my hips dips. I also like how belts look and I don’t have a very small waist so (I have a 28 inch waist) belts help make my waist look smaller and I like rolling the bottom of the jeans up for some reason
Worth saying that there are some Jean brands that are working hard to reduce the environmental impact of making jeans, something I will be considering for any new purchases when not purchasing pre-owned jeans. Really good run through of the styles, thanks Jenny x
I can only wear bootcut or flare because my calves are so muscular they won't fit in other styles in my smaller waist size. I have learned to embrace it but the last decade of skinny jeans was challenging at first.
can you maybe do a video similar to this but with tops? if you want to make your chest or waist seem smaller, larger, or neutral. Maybe like what necklines and stuff
Try skinny jeans (full length so they fit ur long legs) w/ a stretchy material, OR try jeggings, they fit my big thighs and they're like leggings so they'll 'cling' to ur body, which will fit ur hips.
I struggle because I have a thigh gap, I’m short but my hips are wide. So all jeans usually fit painfully in between my thighs and they are way too long so I cant size up.
I LOVE TAPERED JEANS AND I THOUGHT YOU JUST CALL THEM MOM JEANS. I NEVER KNEW ABOUT "FITS" SO THANK YOU KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO YOU'RE MY GO-TO FASHION CHANNEL NOW. I ALSO THOUGHT AND WAS NODDING WHEN YOU SAID THE THICKER THE DENIM THE BETTER. Aaahh I FEEL LIKE HALF MY LIFE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED AFTER THIS VIDEO.
I know this is 2 years old, but I love straight leg and high rise (occasionally mid). I used to try to fit into low rise when I was a kid because it was in style, but it looks awful on me. I'm so happy I don't care about following trends anymore and I can feel confident wearing what makes me happy
I needed this video! I have a small waist, but big thighs, so it's very hard for me to find jeans that fit. I got a new pair of skinny jeans but as soon I sat down in class the ripped at the knees and they were very uncomfortable. I realized that I liked the jeans. I just didn't like how they looked on me. I am going to try straight leg jeans thank you so much
I have the same body type, even mum jeans look like skinny jeans on me BUT slouchy jeans are just perfect! They emphasize the waist and conceal wide hips, ZARA has very nice ones for example :)
I have wide hips and have always hated skinny jeans. I thought jeans weren't for me at all until I discovered the tapered cut, now I'm in love 😍 So comfy and flattering!!
I'm tall and pretty skinny but I have quite some hips and butt and I get the best of both worlds with straight jeans ! Highlights my butt and elongates my leg for days ! Great video, I didn't know I needed this guide !
Loving this series! I finally started jeans shopping after taking a break in January, so this is very helpful. I'm definitely a skinny jean kinda human but I do like a wide legged pair occasionally.
High waist black or dark blue skinny jeans ftw for me lol I have bigger hips with a slightly smaller waist & shorter thicker legs so I like black skinny jeans since they make me feel better about my body 😁👍
I love jeans😍😍 i think i own at least a pair of each fit but gotta say my favorite fit is the straight leg cuz its more comfy and makes my legs look longer
Tapered, straight and skinny jeans! This video was incredibly helpful. Thank you so much! I would love to see how you style summer outfits! Love your videos! 😊
Thank you for doing a video on this! I would love to see a video on what types of shoes goes with what types of jeans. This is an area that I tend to have my struggles in.
I look great in a skinny but it’s so uncomfortable for me to sit down in them. I have pretty thick thighs so it’s hard to shop for straight leg jeans which would be more comfortable. After seeing this I didn’t even know tapered was a fit for jeans!! Some of my favourite trousers are tapered so I will definitely try and check out some tapered options! ❤️
Every time I try to buy looser fitting jeans (mom, boyfriend, etc.) they’re tight on my thighs and super loose on my calves. I’ve tried so many on and always end up crying in the dressing room 😂 Dramatic I know but I don’t feel fashionable anymore in skinny jeans. I just want to be cool 😭
I've gotten really into straight jeans. Everything from tight sitting straight jeans to "flared", but not actually being tight around the knee but just going straight down and slightly out from the hip down. I don't know why, I just think it's a great, classy silhouette that could be dressed up and down, and fits me. I've never really been into skinny or tapered jeans. I love 99% cotton, 1% elastine jeans since they got some stretch but enough stiffness to shape the booty. I also thinks it looks more luxurious with thicker denim. If I'm lucky with the fit, I'll also go for 100% cotton.
I tend to go for a medium rise. I feel like i have a long torso, mainly my but/hip area feels very long so sometimes high rise jeans accentuates that (why have levis switched out the wedgie fit for ribcage I'm so sad). But sometimes I just go for a high rise, bc honestly everyone loves a good high rise. Leave me and my long butt alone :(
My waist is 19 inches. But thats impossible to find so i often get 22W. Im also tall (5'8) so for full length jeans i need a 36L. But but buuuut my hips fit 27W, not because i have wide hips, i dont, but i have a bubble Butt from years of gymnastics which adds alot to my hip measurement.
At one point I got so frustrated with skinny jeans that I didn't wear any for like 4 years. I adore my tapered jeans but am now trying to give skinny jeans another try😄
I love to wear loose jeans! Loose at the thighs mainly! Do they even exist ? It doesn't matter if they become loose at hips , I can manage with a belt ! Just loose at thighs?? Plz someone help me out 😫😫😫😫
It depends on my mood and the temperature outside. I like to wear the skinny, the straight, the bootcut, and the subtle flair. If I can pick only one, it would be the straight.
My waist is really thin but my hips as well (I have a slight hourglass figure) and my legs are also really really thin. I used to only wear high waisted skinny jeans but nowadays Im really Into baggy jeans!
I really like the loose flaired jeans cuz i am tall and skinny without really much hips so i like to wear baggier pants so it created the illusion of hits and it gives that sillouette but i can never find the right jeans anywhere!
Does anyone know of a denim brand that would produce similar jeans to the classic Levi's 501's minus the leather tag? Not sure if the Toteme ones here are faux leather patches, if so that would be great! I've had such a hard time finding the perfect brand :(
Ahh yes, the power of Jenny, a.k.a. finding the perfect fit of jeans less than a week after watching the video. They are described as "slim", which means they are nicely fitted around the legs, but not quite as tightly as the skinny jeans, so I don't feel like a tied up ham :D
I’ve always wore skinny jeans but as I’ve gotten older a I realized that although they made my legs look slimmer my waist area always looked weird especially since I have hip dips a smaller waist thicker thighs they always looked kinda boxy on my shape so I think in going to try taper fits maybe to make my hips look a little rounder I think.
T shirt and jeans is my everyday uniform, so I’m very fussy about good quality denim. I buy either straight or boyfriend styles in 100% cotton. Japanese denim and selvage denim is the best, and will develop character through wear marks over the years. Another tip - don’t wash your investment denim often if you want it to last, and wash them inside out in cold water. Between wears, you can freshen up your jeans by hanging them outside in the sun and fresh air. Great video - you look great in all the styles!
Hi, Jenny! Loved this video as always - quick and descriptive and I think tapered jeans balance your shoulders and make you look amazing 😉 thanks for the video, love 💛.
I have a skinny waist and wide hips and big thighs so I think ill go for flared and boyfriend! thank you for this! 💕💕💕 i want to stop wearing skinny because it doesnt look right on my body type :)
i have tiny hips and huge thighs so nothing fits quite well :( im a dancer and figure skater so im super muscular, actually on the bigger side, plus i have really short legs
I have long legs but a very short torso, which means my waist is not small in proportion to the rest of my body. I love high waisted jeans, they’re super flattering but they cut off my torso at my natural waist, making it look very short. Any tips? (my waist is around 26 in, my hips around 32, and my inseam is 32! crazy weird proportions lol)
random: can y’all imagine a backwards bootcut jean? like loos in the thighs and tight in the bottoms. kinda like puff sleeves but for your legs... idk just a weird thought
What kind of jeans would help hide a thigh gap? I have short legs, small waist and very large hips, with a very large tigh gap and I don't like it, so is it some way to hide it a little? :((
which is your favourit fit ??
skinny / straight / bootcut / tapered / boyfriend / flared ??
x
Straight
straight fit is the best! i love these pants haha
skinny!
straight fit for life
mostly skinny and mom/boyfriend ^^

I feel like i have a long torso, mainly my but/hip area feels very long so sometimes high rise jeans accentuates that (why have levis switched out the wedgie fit for ribcage I'm so sad). But sometimes I just go for a high rise, bc honestly everyone loves a good high rise. Leave me and my long butt alone :(
Cameltoe makes me unconfortable LOL that's what I avoid always!
Plz someone help me out 😫😫😫😫
Tapered for me too!!!
Thanks for enlighting me! Tomorrow I am purchasing a jean!
I have a pair like the flared ones you wore in this video and I loooove them! I love wearing jeans that are so wide and roomy. I feel so free!
Tapered & boyfriend jeans are the best ngl.
I really like the loose flaired jeans cuz i am tall and skinny without really much hips so i like to wear baggier pants so it created the illusion of hits and it gives that sillouette but i can never find the right jeans anywhere!
Love your channel--your tips are always super helpful. Now, I'm off to go find a pair of tapered jeans!
Does anyone know of a denim brand that would produce similar jeans to the classic Levi's 501's minus the leather tag? Not sure if the Toteme ones here are faux leather patches, if so that would be great! I've had such a hard time finding the perfect brand :(
I'm really short and it's hard to find flattering jeans so I wish u would have talked about height too
Ahh yes, the power of Jenny, a.k.a. finding the perfect fit of jeans less than a week after watching the video.
They are described as "slim", which means they are nicely fitted around the legs, but not quite as tightly as the skinny jeans, so I don't feel like a tied up ham :D
flared are always the best! they make my legs look even longer haha
Great video - you look great in all the styles!
great video!! i always have a hard time knowing what type of jeans fits me best, sp this was really helpful! thank you
Is it only me or watching jeans is SO satisfiying?
Really was super helpful :D thank you so much for sharing
Hi, Jenny! Loved this video as always - quick and descriptive and I think tapered jeans balance your shoulders and make you look amazing 😉 thanks for the video, love 💛.
Ok but tapered jeans hit different 👀
those straight leg jeans are so beautiful on you. (2nd pair)
you looked good in all of them though ❤️
This video is a life saver. THANKS, JENNY!
I have a skinny waist and wide hips and big thighs so I think ill go for flared and boyfriend! thank you for this! 💕💕💕 i want to stop wearing skinny because it doesnt look right on my body type :)
skinny and tapered are my fave types
I would like to wear a different kind of jeans but I really hate how I look if I'm not wearing skinny jeans...
step 1 for me is just to find some that fit and then if they fit they are good enough for me
What about baggy pants??
i love you Jenny, really, I am exited for every video!
Nice work and nice shoes! They fit everything ;) Thanks again.
Like your mindset when it comes to fashion!
i have tiny hips and huge thighs so nothing fits quite well :( im a dancer and figure skater so im super muscular, actually on the bigger side, plus i have really short legs
This is so helpful omg thank you for making this
I love wide leg flare jeans!
random: can y’all imagine a backwards bootcut jean? like loos in the thighs and tight in the bottoms. kinda like puff sleeves but for your legs... idk just a weird thought
Jodhpur pants are like this!
What kind of jeans would help hide a thigh gap? I have short legs, small waist and very large hips, with a very large tigh gap and I don't like it, so is it some way to hide it a little? :((
loved this! super informative 💜
Straight 🥺❤️❤️ they're so cute
i looove the bootcut hehe
