    Hello Dustin, I just wanted to say thanks bro. I've been watching your videos from day one and am happy that you are back uploading again. I'm good with entering for the fountain pen giveaway. But I would be thankful to get a opal, so that I could then use one to make a Fountain pen gift set for you brother. As a way of thanking you for all of the knowledge that you have blessed onto us over the years, asking for nothing in return from us. Anyhow, stay safe and be well.

I remember you mentioning it in a video once but I can't for the life of me remember what video it was in...what is your torch mounted to that allows it to move? I'm really interested in setting mine up similarly. Any info is much appreciated!
    Thanks again for all that you do and being you.

    You can make a decent mold by putting maybe 2mm thick steel wire into a block of wood. Concept could be a multi size mold with 6 wire pieces, 8 wire pieces, and 10/12 wire pieces or whatever iteration. Think odd numbers too. Angle ~1 inch of tops of wires away from center of mold to make a good flared landing zone for the molten glass. Good luck translating this into makeshift molds, diy glass artists.

    • @danielray7909
      @danielray7909 Před 2 lety

      From (limited) personal experience, keep the pen size small. We're making pens, not wands.

    I’m stoked for the shirts and hoodie man, I’m going to scoop for sure! Great set too man, it’s beautifully clean and I would love to see how it writes. I’ve been into calligraphy for many years and love glass dip pens. I don’t have a cool mold, so I’ve found I get decent consistent results using 12mm daisy tubing from mountain glass filled solid with fine frit or small colored rod. I can’t tell you how long I struggled with function before adjusting to just snapping the tip off and honing with fine grit. I will try what you did though because that smooth tip is way cooler and I suspect writes like a dream.

      You can get everything at Murano! You might actually want to walk on the streets like Calle Dietro Gil Orti, Calle Zanetti, etc. Everything is in the streets and people are very much friendly. Have fun on your trip!
