At a time there was only GoPro Hero 2 available with no timelapse or timer. DJI released their first Phantom I only in 2013. So yeah, now you can be all fancy, but back in a dayzz people had to be creative.
How to be a Camera Tosser:
Step 1: Get a GoPro

If you are gonna try, at least put a small parachute on.. it will help the camera facing down and also help it land slower so you can catch it...Make sure you toss it high enough though..

Just do it with a go pro you can toss it higher and it's easier to catch and u can just hit record and take a sill from it later

I cannot believe that you went to Sai Kung when the typhoon signal was raised! That typhoon was quite powerful to have many trees blown off.
