Two great rescues. To help with the messes it makes to repot I found a flat sheet at thrift store no holes I use to help with repotting. Lay it down first do your repotting then take the sheet outside and shake it in grass. I hope that helps so your boyfriend doesn’t have to wash your floors again. Love your videos, thank you so much for doing them and love to Rocky.

Egg shell gives calcium and magnesium to the plants that’s probably why it’s so healthy.💖🦋🌺

Hi Svetlana, I love your intros, that dog in the window was for sure watching Rocky, also did you see that cat also right above that dog, that scared me with it sitting on the window sill like that, I wouldn't want it falling. Wow such a huge Ficus, so sad that people throw away good plants, it I throw anything away it is usually dead and dryed up, not still living and green. You are so amazing and someone needs to sponsor you with some kind of grow tent so you can leave some of your huge plants in it on the patio through the winter. Your so very lucky 🍀 to find so many plants. It should be a tv show called plant finder 😃 lol that ficus is adorable- I’d remove the lower leaves to promote top growth. It’s sad they tossed it, but it is now in the best home ever!!! Can’t wait to see it grow.

Eggshell fertilizer is old school. Wash them. Some people let them soak in watering cans. Some bury them in the soil. Plants love it! They provide a but of drainage in the soil and aeration.

You could add a few 2-3" rocks for weight. Or you need a bigger pot. Such a lucky find! I rescued a beat up one from a store, buts doing nothing. Ok, I'm going to go crush some egg shells now.
This is just crazy that someone would throw out such an amazing plant. Thank goodness your mom saw it so you could rescue. My neighbors are Lithuanian, but I can’t ever remember how to say your language lessons so I won’t be impressing them anytime soon with my language skills. I love the little lessons though. 🪴

Thar tree is very gorgeous (just like you are) they sell small ones at my store for around 20 us dollars. Great find 👍👍 be careful of any white liquid that comes out if it breaks, it's very harsh to the skin and eyes

You have the best luck that was a beautiful ficas maybe they threw it away because it got so big my mother in law use to throw egg shells and coffee grinds in her flower beds said it helped the plants to grow thank you for sharing

This Ficus Tineke is one of my favourite indoor tree. I would cut it so it will branch out and propagated the cutting then add it to the pot in other to have a fuller plant. Looking at the size of the trunk and roots, you can tell that it is a mature plant.

That ficus must be at least 5-6 years old. I’ve had that same one for 1 year and they are pretty slow growers. Awesome find!

Needs deeper pot until it developes roots on the upper trunk OR cut the top off and propagate the top cutting. Either way you end up with a much healthier tree but leaving it like that is going to cause problems, which is probably why they threw it away in the first place. It's going to keep falling over!
Already in my plans! But for now don't want to disturb roots anymore. It's been a week and for now it's doing great 🥰🧡

I use eggshells too but I crush them into small pieces so the plant can get the calcium
Do you boil them before use?

beautiful plant! in Bangladesh we use eggshells from our kitchen to plants as fertilizer,specially for cactii, plumeria, any flowering plants. it works but its best when the shells are sun dried/baked and made powder in blender.. plant actually cant receive the nutrients if its used as those pieces❤️

What I find so funny is that people put these beside the garbage container and not IN the garbage container! I think they know that you're coming any minute 😆
Well this one wasn't in my neighborhood, so I doubt it 😁
My theory is. Someone really liked this plant and wasn't expecting it to grow so tall so they may have been moving and were forced to purge the plant. People do this with animals where they abandon the animal. Plants is much easier like example. They get a puppy like example like Rockys breed and they don't research that Rocky is a bigger dog breed and requires a lot of work to keep healthy. You have to walk him and keep him active so he not destructive. You feed him and Clean up after him.

Oh my goodness was so painful watching this. Ficus Tineke is a hard plant to get and also kinda expensive too especially for that big size. Also is one of my favourite one and the burgundy one too which i am still hoping to come across to buy.
