So an American "equity firm" may take over? Don't "equity firms" take money out of companies, making them less competitive in the future? And when the equity firm "Cerberus Group" had an 80% stake in Chrysler, did they have the unique skills to turn around an automaker? Didn't an "equity firm" guide Red Lobster straight down into bankruptcy last month (June 2024)? Why is an "equity firm" a good thing? I don't think it is.
Agreed. But Mercedes Benz did the same thing to Chrysler back then. They milked Chrysler for all the profit possible while cutting standard equipment on the vehicles.

I’m for free markets … I don’t care what compensation a company gives its execs. Take a look at the French Stock Market (CAC 40) it's dropping back quickly. Check out the CACT which is the whole French stock market. The chart is hilarious it's dropping like a rock since Sunday's election.

This is my personal thought. I don’t have any way to back this up. I see Stellantis selling off Dodge. Now some of you may disagree but that is what Carter Hawley Hale did with Thalhiners as it was profitable when other divisions were not. Stellantis will keep Jeep, Ram and Chrysler.
This is where I see Ford buying Dodge and Ford Spinning off the Mustang to be its own brand like Ram was spun off into its own company. This would make sense because it will give Ford a better performance line to compete heavily against Gazoo from Toyota and their TRD division as well
