  • In this video I'm showing you what's inside Nucleus Lite Edition, the new $99 orchestral ensemble library from Audio Imperia.
    I highly recommend checking out this video from Audio Imperia about Nucleus Lite, it showcases the sounds much better in terms of what you can do musically: • Audio Imperia | NUCLEU...
    Nucleus Lite Edition: www.audioimper...
    Nucleus Full Edition: www.audioimper...
    As described on the Audio Imperia website: "If you are looking to dip your toes into the vast world of orchestral sample libraries, this is it."
    I hope you find this video valuable, and let me know if there's any other content you would like to see relating to Nucleus Lite/Full Edition :)

    Along with Guy Michelmore's video on Nucleus Lite, this answered any remaining questions that I had about this library. During Black Friday weekend it's only $79 and for that reason as well as everything else, I'll be getting it.

    Good tip about the natural sounding sample preserving the delay and compensating it on the daw, i was unaware about the difference of compensating the delay in the library vs the daw, thanks for this great video!

    If I can make a suggestion, I think it would be great if you did a video where you started from scratch and used the complete Nucleus to create a fully orchestrated piece that comes from a movie (like you did for Avengers). Maybe just a couple of bars. I understand it would be way too long otherwise haha

    • @TomHawkComposer
      @TomHawkComposer  Před 4 lety +3

      Luka Groulx interesting suggestion! I appreciate any content suggestions so thanks for that. So, do you mean like creating a mock-up of an existing theme on a live video? Or a brand new orchestral piece to a movie scene? :)

    • @LukaGroulx
      @LukaGroulx Před 4 lety +1

      Tom Hawk I was thinking of a mock-up, but rescoring to a scene would be pretty cool too actually! Haha But I think people (or at least me) generally like seeing how to recreate things that come from the masters… You can learn so much from exploring how they write!

    • @TomHawkComposer
      @TomHawkComposer  Před 4 lety +4

      Luka Groulx sounds good, yeah it would be one looooooong video if you watched me mock-up an entire track from scratch haha. And so much referencing back and forth between the original and my mock-up. It could easily become a 5 part series haha. But yes, I like your idea of doing something shorter. I’ll see what could be done 😊 thanks again for the suggestion! Let me know if you have any requests for content from me. Always happy to see how I can bring more value to everyone.

    Brilliant, many thanks Tom. After watching this, I just bought Nucleus. I just wanted to ask one question about the "Expression" - I don't have a modulation wheel on my keyboard ..... is there a way to set up an external controller that can be used to control this as I play, rather than just "midi mapping" every time I want to do it? (I use Ableton). Hope my question makes sense? Many thanks again.

    • @TomHawkComposer
      @TomHawkComposer  Před 4 lety +1

      Ahh good point! It has a nice soft quality to it at lower dynamics, and in the full version of Nucleus you have the "Ooh" articulation as well which is even softer. Hope that helps a bit :)

    Yes, it's very unfortunate for us composers to see lite products released that cost peanuts after we already invested in expensive libraries. I would definitely go the cheap route if something like that has been released when I started out.

    I’m completely new to these virtual instruments, but very interested... 😅 is it possible then to, for instance, automate vibrato levels when recording? Or better said automating several parameters not just one as seen controlled by the mod wheel? How? ...otherwise this looks incredible 👍🏼🙂

    Hi Tom, I already have a few libraries of orchestral sounds and I am particularly looking for powerful brass, especially low brass. Since I have a small budget, I am very interested in Nucleus Lite edition. Is this a good choice for what I'm looking for? Thank you in advance for your answer !

    • @graysonwilson-cacciapalle7989
      @graysonwilson-cacciapalle7989 Před 4 lety

      All the instruments in this sound great, just now that your options are fairly limited. There is one brass patch, and that's the sound you get. You can manipulate it a bit with dynamics expression, but it's probably not going to be extremely versatile. But it will certainly give you the big full brass sound and do it very well!

      Grayson answered your question well - the brass does sound powerful in Nucleus Lite but obviously it's an ensemble patch, so not super detailed like the full version of Nucleus or a dedicated brass library. If you want really powerful low brass, check out Talos Low Brass from Audio Imperia, that's awesome for low brass and I layer it often with Nucleus or Jaeger, and other libraries too. There's a lot of really great options for powerful low brass to be honest. What other libraries do you have already?

    just bought it as well and its amaziong so far.
    but I im struggling now and have a question; how can i add some articulations AFTER i recorded the track?
    I have recorded a choir sample as an intro, and I want it to start calm and silent and it shoulkd become more agressive and louder as it continues.
    it works, when I do that during the recording, but I want to do that afterwards.
    I use Reaper as DAW and a launchkey mini 3 as MIDI controller
    hope you can help me!

    Hey, quite a while ago you mentioned processing some drum samples you recorded into cinematic impacts. I've started experimenting with processing my own percussion samples. Are there any courses/video I should check out?

    • @TomHawkComposer
      @TomHawkComposer  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Billy! Yep I’ve been using those custom samples in some projects over the past 1.5 years. Still learning a lot & re-processing the sounds as I learn more - eventually I will release something when the quality is high enough. 90% of what I’ve learned about sound design is from Karel Psota’s Trailer Sound Design Course, you can find it here: courses.evenant.com/?affcode=22931_etvieel4 - If you’re looking to learn about how to create your own instrument in Kontakt though (not the sampling & sound design process) then perhaps a different course might work better for you. I know Alex Pfeffer has a short course on creating a Kontakt instrument with a custom GUI. Hope that helps in some way :)

    • @BillyPalmerMusic
      @BillyPalmerMusic Před 4 lety +2

      @@TomHawkComposer I'll check out the course - thanks so much! Have come across Alex Pfeffer's stuff but didn't know about the kontakt course. ''will release something when the quality is high enough". You thinking of potentially releasing a library? Or as in making a video? How mysterious...

    • @TomHawkComposer
      @TomHawkComposer  Před 4 lety +2

      @@BillyPalmerMusic Yeah check it out, it's an awesome course! Highly recommend it to anyone that's interested in sound design. And to answer your question: both. I have a making of video of recording those drums in that huge old staircase that's kind of edited. I'm waiting to release it until I have something more tangible in the form of some sort of sample library/libraries from those drum recordings and my own guitar/djembe/household item recordings I've been capturing since 2018. Still not sure what it will turn out to be like, but I do know there will be a freebie or two for everyone who follows my channel :)

    I bought this library after watching this video and till now I've not been able to fix the delay effect I get when I press a note in this library. Esp when I use it alongside other libraries.. Only this will delay and play differently

    • @TomHawkComposer
      @TomHawkComposer  Před 2 lety +1

      The delay you’re referring to has to do with sample start, and sample libraries such as Nucleus have this on purpose. Here’s a useful video from Audio Imperia that explains how to use sample start times to get things playing in time, as well as achieving the most realism: czcams.com/video/x8JY04DmbCY/video.html
