Yes, those places are bad. I took over a zombie mat and did a lot of painting, cleanup, and changing machines, and my customers tell me how much nicer it is. My old tile floor isn't great, but could be worse.

I was super shocked!! I had no idea how bad some places are.
@@FollowingKeenan I think every department of the City would shut that off just on their own trade or license. Fire, Shut it. Plumbing? Shut it. Electric, shut it. Sewers probably not compliant either.

@@MarkH10 2nd to last one i had a chance 10 years ago for $28,000. Building and all machines. I should have. If that one comes up again i would.

Just found you. I am a real estate guy but picked up 2 laundromats this summer. 1 decent and 1 tiny!
I have a location that Danny has made calls on for me about ten times. Has 36 top loaders. Half are OOO
21 tumblers and only three work.
Hang in there! One day that person will realize they need to get rid of it. It takes some time!! Danny good at talking folks into things.

I was in shock! I really didnt think some of these places were that bad. I still am!
WTF - Watching this with my clients & we are in tears laughing at these dumps. Time warps or living antiques ????? LOL Watching with my 3 clients who own laundromats. We looked at some dumps like these poor examples of businesses. We looked at the public liability issues with those dangerous floors & wonder how high their PL insurance must be. Yes the older machines do work & provide a service but you need to look at operating costs / power use / ability to make or get spare parts. Those boarded up windows were a shock as was the "sleeper" inside. All our folding tables have 2' dividers so that they are not used as day beds. We examined 2 more locations for purchase & to find the 40+ year old machines are a turn off as you walk inside the premises.

I'll bet the bathrooms are just fine, they just have the out of order signs up and the doors locked so they don't have to deal with cleaning etc.

Over the years I've used the two good laundromats because they keep the machines working. My washer just gave out, so I'm back to hitting 'mats. I'll have to take trip to the Heights next time.

I remember going into one of these places when I was a kid my mother her washer and dryer tore up my dad was a semi driver Simmons Beautyrest mattresses while he was out of town well we had to have our laundry done they were six of us kids

Robbie, you are being too kind by calling them just "bad" LOL. I grabbed my clients to this video & our phones were going hot. We are lucky that above my friend's first site are 3 apartments with 1 rented to a semi-retired appliance repairmen. I just pointed this to him & he was in tears laughing as we spoke on the phone. I have seen far worse & it all depends on the area but ..... LOL.

I like the older dryers. They work better. There is a place in Detroit that I first went to as a kid and still open so in business at least 50 years and even back then the machines used tickets not cash.

I'm big fan can over load them. Customers love them. When i bought mine in 2018 my equipment dealer said i was nutz. Now he selling them like crazy.
At the time they were cheaper than the smaller 55lb dryers.

Its sad how some people have gotten so far out of sorts. I was more afraid if i walked by her. While coming off the durgs she might jump up. I seen many durg attics do about face and attach people. Where one min there out of it.

I know it sucks. My main goal is for folks to see what owning a laundromat really like. Or a business these days. I'm not the person promising easy money and no work. I appreciate the honesty.
20:34 -- Way too many 20 pound washers! That's a common thing I see in laundromats in my area too. Looks like about 12 against that yellow wall, maybe more on the left side of the screen. What is the obsession with 20 pound washers? Having a few is fine, but who needs a dozen or more? My laundromat has 3 60s, 2 40s, 2 30s, 1 Horizon 22 lb, and 6 toploaders. All my machines get used a lot except the 30s and the Horizon.
Folks get sold them on idea they are cheaper costing. Not realizing customers will pay more for bigger machines.
I prefer to see 20lb hard mount washers much more than top loaders and HE washers for the most part
