Yes. I think it's probably the best song Randy made. It has fluid and beautiful acoustics, then bam, it goes to full-on, in your face distortion. And the solo sounds almost ghostly. It's not in the front but in the background, yet you can clearly hear every note played to perfection. I think that solo was the one that took randy several days to come up with, but it was worth it!

Randy Rhoades played at my 16th birthday party in Burbank it was definitely the hugest that I have ever seen in Burbank and I’ve been to a lot of parties in Burbank they played at least3 a weekend wherever they could play . Kelli was my brothers best friend. They were great ahead of me. He was in my brothers continuation class. Both of them were in high school and I used to see him walk around the hallways jamming with his with his guitar him and Kellie they were so skinny, and I kind of protected him because I was in the football.

I was thinking of this yesterday as I was walking the dog and You Can't Kill Rock and Roll came on pandora.
THink of the fortuitous confluence of events that occurred for this magic to happen with those two Blizzard of ozz albums. Even after Ozzy hired Randy, after Bob told him he needed to find world class musicians to really make a go at this. And even Joe Elliott in an interview said that there was a lot of pressure for Ozzy to show he can outdo Sabbath.
Yes, you had a young guitar teacher who can play at a high level, but no one really knew if he could write songs.
Can Bob talk about how a lot of guys can play an instrument but it does not mean they can write songs, quality songs. Tommy Aldridge is on record saying few guys have the facility of their instrument as Randy did.

What a way to get the correct history from Bob himself. First thank you Bob for helping Randy develop. Question- I have heard from pretty good source. Is it true that while Blizzard was being made, there was a guy hired that was making a Mr Crowley Mtv style video and filmed you guys in the studio. The film maker left because Ozzy was giving him a hard time and he left with the reels?

Tell me, what great songs did Daisley write before he played with RR?..Ill tell ya, NONE!. Remember, both Daisley and Kerslake were unemployed along with Ozzy at that time. Did you write those beautiful lyrics as well as I'm 100 percent positive you wrote alot if not all of first 2 album lyrics.? Side note bought the book 2 yrs ago, kickers. Thanks for sharing insight into such a great period in time for the music you helped shape and mold. Greetings from Salisbury North Carolina!

Bob goes over on his website and book what he actually wrote he broke down each song
Bob's answer from his website: Goodbye to Romance: Ozzy had a few lines ready for this one, including the title but I wrote most of the lyrics. My message was directed at Ozzy to 'look ahead' and not get stuck in the past regarding his dismissal from Black Sabbath, which was still bothering him. I wrote the outro lyrics in the control room of a Birmingham demo studio when we first recorded the song as a demo for the record company. I still have that demo. Incidentally, the title is a line from an Everly Brothers' song 'Bye, Bye Love'.
Tommy Aldridge has also shed some light on Ozzy humming ideas. he said Randy would make fun of him because he would hum an idea, Randy would ask him to repeat it and Ozzy never record hum it the same two times , whereas Randy would sing drum riffs to Tommy to try and TOmmy would ask him to repeat it, to give Randy a taste of his own medicine, and Randy would sing it the same way he did the first time.

he was NOT ripped off. He was being paid a flat salary when he was with Ozzy, and seeing as he was unemployed, im sure quite happy. Thats why he kept working with Ozzy after the Diary record. His problem is he tried to sue for publishing royalties AFTER the records went multi platinum and 2 American Courts threw the cases out. He had NO STANDING.. in ther words, no legal claim. You cant come back years later and claim you did this and that, dont work like that. Before he played a note, he should have had his own publishing company, but he didnt. Ozzy had his own company, BLIZZARD MUSIC LTD, and he got the publishing rights..and thats where the big money is. He owns those recordings, lock, stock and barrel...nobody else. You wanna use those recordings in a documentary?..or a commercial?....you gotta pay the publisher, Mr Osbourne, its that simple.
