Great video Sean! Enlightening!
Awesome triad lesson Sean!! The triad puzzle is coming together. Thank you for simplifying it so clearly!
Thank you for the triads lesson. Very helpful!!
Cool information.
Thanks for sharing young man.
loves me some triads!! great lesson Sean
Another lesson that is usable right out of the gate. When I pick up the guitar tomorrow, I'll be able to incorporate this. Thanks.
What a fairy simple concept to help strengthen chord shapes and relationships. Thank you so much for this, it definitely makes me think and play a different way than normal.
One of your best instructional videos that I've seen you do, as your spoken pace was awesome. Thanks for slowing it down!!
Best Yet!!!
Thanks Sean that was absolutely fantastic! I'm working on exactly those three triad shapes right now and my challenge is figuring out how to get them engrained in my fingers so they can just start to come out naturally. This video was super helpful for me to make connections and I will be using these exercises for the next week (and likely much much longer) to help lock these in!
Well now that you are Travis picking/hybrid picking, it’s time to learn Clap. It’s not as hard as it sounds, I learned it over 20 years ago… Can’t say I play it as well as Steve, but it’s a lot of fun to play. And audiences love it.Thanks for the lesson!
Sean - I've always wanted to play up and down the neck...your lessons are often all about that. Thank you very much.
Man thank you for this! I’ve got my barre chords and the high E triads. I was dreading learning these “middle strings” triads by figuring them out by note names. Super helpful!!!
This is a great lesson. Thx!
Another great vid, content that’s easy to grasp. Thanks Sean!
Happy it was helpful!
Thanks Sean 😀 for this cool triad lesson
Appreciation Sean you're always right on time👍
Keep rockin Roger!
Excellent teacher
When I'm not stapling bacon to my forhead I'm watching your videos ...
Thanks for sharing your hard work, you always have a unique' way of looking at things
I love this guy lol his humor just makes this whole learning process enjoyable. "those hot licks" lmao
Spoken like a real Californian, Traders Joe and Sprouts. Great lesson
Triads were a game changer for me. I memorized the major and minor triad shapes and also what string the root is. You can then turn them in to arpeggios since you know where the notes are and also add 7ths, another root ect to the triad for a wider chord vocabulary. I’ve only been playing a year and still suck but triads are a must learn in my opinion. Takes some practice but worth it.
So cool to hear! Keep up the good work!
Im 8 month in and triads and chords seem like a freaking impossible wall...but ill get it....sooner than later!!!
@@celeste5932 I felt the same way. Patience and practice is the only way. Gotta get through the bad to get to the good. Best of luck
Exceptional! Have learned triads from you. Maybe someday you could create a video about tips how to bend better with steal stings .
Me, at Sprouts today in SoCal. Lotsa parking!
Good one for beginners would be Endless Summer: learning the D > C melody and the two breaks.
Suggestion if you don’t know it, try to figure it out. Good exercise and you should get it in a few sittings.

I love the DGB voicings. The best major triad is a five chord with the root on the B string, then you can grab the E string with your pointer to make the major 7 one chord. Sounds so good.
Did you see any snow?
So frickin' awesome you had a revelation at 3:45, about the hybrid picking! I recently realized, that guitar is a never ending learning experience a life long journey, so to speak. it was cool to see your real reaction! Thanks for your videos been watching, and learning from you, about 4 years! Tx Sean
Thanks so much Randy! Yeah I guess I'm a hybrid picker now!
There's no way you answer all these comments on your own, is there?
I try to get to as many as I can!
Thanks , You always come up with Great teaching moments with your Martin D-18 ?…I am always able to incorporate them into my own writing, the simplistic use of double stops and short cord triads free up the mind and the instrument to better enlightening. Thanks
PS can you send a link to your Patreon Page ?
good stuff here
I love you... you make everything easy for me
Happy to help!
Yet another 🔥 lesson. You've helped me a lot with theory. I guess your corny intros worked on me... been watching for years.
Oh now that your in SoCal let us know if your gonna busk or play somewhere. I'm just down the street 👍🤙
Sean says he's poster child for Major7. I'm the TRIAD baby
You are the Bob Ross of the guitar, Sean.
I ripped the fingernail on my index finger really bad about 2 weeks ago. I've been forced to use hybrid picking since then. Never really practiced that before. While I'm not happy about my finger at all, it's been a blessing in disguise lol
Way to make the most of it!
I’m parking at whole phoods even more class
Flexin on all of us
I have smaller hands and shorter fingers than most adult guitarists so triads and double stops are super helpful
i took my taylor and smeared whole fudes almond butter across the fretboard... just because you said i wouldn't regret it.
it's the best fretboard i've ever eaten.
Almond Butter + Rosewood = Bliss

C.A.G.E.D.F. 🎸Ha!!!
First... to like your triad lessons.
As usual!
You will definitely find that f shape in the caged shapes. It’s the E shape.
Can you come up with triad rhythm lesson?
Sure! Stay tuned.
@@seandaniel23 yeah bro I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now. You got some really good content. Keep up the awesome work bro.
Late beginner here. At 7:50, if in F , why go to Dm pentatonic? Dm being the 6th of F.
Thanks!
Mmm. Thanks Sean! That’s butter. (Like Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter!) *Which, if you haven’t tried a spoonful… is the best kind!
*Disclaimer: This comment is not sponsored by Trader Joe’s Speculoos Cookie Butter in any way. But it’s awesome and you should try it. (Like Sean’s videos.) Then comment and subscribe. (Like Sean’s videos)

Their almond butter is my weakness
@@seandaniel23 Ha! Awesome! I’ll have to try it.
Oh you won't regret it
What surprises me is why you don't have over a million of subscribers. Basic guitar channels are having millions of subscribers.
Great job man!. Soon you will be reaching heights.
Once you see all the chords on the guitar fretboard you can actually read your fretboard or sing your fretboard
For the algo
God bless
Why did you go to Dmin pentatonic? What is the relationship between F Bb C that makes Dmin work so well? Duh, nevermind...answered my own question...relative minor 😉.
F is not in the caged because there's no open notes and it's based on the open E.
Appreciate the content and the exercise. However, I don't think it is fair to say that F isn't in the CAGED system, it's just an E a half step up. Probably the poster child of CAGED.
if it was in a caged system iz would have it's own open string shape, for the exact reason you stated above it is not and nor I see how this has to do anything with being fair or not
I never had trouble finding a parking spot in front of Trader Joe’s
MmmmmmmMartin
F shape is the same as E... just saying... CAGED TRUTHER HERE!!! HAHAHA
got totally confused after about halfway, its my age i guess. i should just stick to learning campfire songs
Well I know you Mick Jagger and dad's
psst: it is CAGED 😂
Not simple at all.
