Great wrestling and awesome blue singlet. Classic!
The best wrestling here! Excellence in technical skills. Great match Evan!
OMG! This match was AWESOME. Thanks Mid. This was a borderline schoolyard fight lol. They were both pissed but left it all on the mat like men. And the way you panned the camera was phenomenal Mid lol. Like you shot this with a Paramount drone. Just dope. Thanks💪
Thank you, Shannon!
i was surprised to see that old school singlet
Like what I wore as a HS wrestler.
Extremely old. I didn’t think they made them anymore.
@@h5u7p5gt9 Maybe they'll come back. Fashions come and go.
Which one? The purple or Monster advertisement?
Brutal. Great action Midwest Wrestle.
Intense! Thanks Midwest!
At the beginning it was brutal and in the end it was intense, great match
That's some good ol' tusslin'! Nice come back for Holloway after that fall! Thanks for another awesome video, Midwest Wrestle!
That was intense!
That was an awesome match. Thanks Mid. I just wanna know who in the Scooby-Doo crew is designing these slinglettes nowadays, lol. Someone really thought putting two eyes on a mans butt cheek was a great design idea smh.
@@loganperry5167Literally!
Weird singlet. I didn’t think they made them like that anymore.
Red apparently thinks it’s freestyle. It is not. Save it for the Olympics.
great match
This was wild
Great up close camera work.
Rodriquez is clearly bleeding pretty badly at 4:26. Why doesn't the referee acknowledge that?
👏👏👏👏👏great
The ref was in the couldn't see how his eye got bloody
Was that point awarded for unnecessary roughness or because he locked his hands while returning him to the mat?
You can't see it because the camera angle is too low, but the official places both of hands behind his head before signalling the point, which is the mechanic for signalling an Illegal Hold/Maneuver. In this case, it was an Illegal Slam. Immediately following the point, he then twirls his finger in a downward circular motion while telling the table, "Start Recovery Time." Recovery Time is a special timeout used for when a wrestler is injured due to either an Illegal Hold/Maneuver, Unnecessary Roughness, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, or a Technical Violation. Instead of the usual 90 seconds for a traditional Injury Timeout where the injured wrestler loses if they are unable to continue, a Recovery Timeout is two full minutes, and the injured wrestler wins if they are unable to continue.
Here are the relevant excerpts from the rules book and case book:
"When you lift your opponent off the mat you are responsible for a safe return to the mat."
"ART. 1 . . . A slam is lifting and returning an opponent to the mat with unnecessary force. This infraction may be committed by a contestant in either the top or bottom position on the mat, as well as during a takedown. A slam shall be called without hesitation."
"ART. 2 . . . If a contestant is injured as a result of an illegal hold/maneuver, unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike conduct (during the match) or the result of a false start (contact by the opponent) in the neutral position, to the extent the injured contestant is unable to continue following a maximum of two minutes recovery time, the injured contestant shall be awarded the match by default. In case of an intentional attempt to injure an opponent, the offender shall be penalized for flagrant misconduct. Recovery time for injury because of an illegal hold/maneuver is not deducted from the injured contestant's injury-time allowance. An injured contestant cannot take injury time immediately following recovery time. (5-28-3)"
@@MidwestWrestle thanks for this detailed explanation, and yes I was going along the line that the injured wrestler would have been awarded the match if he couldn’t continue based on the situation you just explained. Learning and knowing more day by day. Thanks a lot.
The other one did it on purpose for his cut on the head that he isn’t wearing any protection to begin with. It was his own fault to get himself hurt.
He should be disqualified 👎👎😖
