Well, he was a piano teacher at my school (I never had him as a teacher but he was still really nice), and was taking flying lessons at Compton Airport. One day in March he was landing in his Cessna (along with his instructor) and a T-28 Trojan came in to land right behind them on the same runway. Bear in mind that Compton is a non-towered airport, so therefore they can't make any announcements on position or anything. The T-28 pilot didn't see the Cessna and collided right into him, causing his aircraft to burst into flames. It was really sad :(
