I love your videos brotha! I’ll say this as a contrarian, I think you have to play that game with the hope your run game gets more than it did. It was god awful to watch our line get no push and get blown up on so many run plays. I also would say that a few plays gone differently and the Jets aren’t out of it.. that fumble from Dalvin was huge, and that’s not to blame him because how is he getting held up by three guys on an outside run. The run blocking was so atrocious I don’t know how any OC digs out of that hole when our best offensive weapon (imo) is shut out (Breece Hall). Lastly I buy into everything Saleh said in the postgame presser and the next day, to me this was completely on the defense. That game was out of hand in the first quarter with the efficiency and TOP. We don’t have a team built to be aggressively pass heavy on offence. We have Dalvin and Breece so we can run it and our defense is (head coach is defense!) supposed to keep us in it. There’s winning a Jets game with our defensive head coach and the score is supposed to be over 60 points for us to even be in the game.
I completely agree. What Hackett lacks when he was head coach for the Broncos, was adjusting to changing during the game. He seems to set a game plan in his head and stick with it. He lacks resilience to changes needed. I dont know why they didnt play Ruckert as a blocking TE to help Duane Brown. Every one keeps blaming Wilson even in this game against the Patriots today, but it's still the same thing. There was a play where Conklin bumps the defender and runs off, but the check block was so week, that the defenders stride still reached Wilson. In the end, who cares of the talent we have on the wings (ie. Garrett) if we dont give our QB time to get the ball out there.
It was absolutely horrendous the protection. You can't win game like this or even complete a pass. I'm so glad you came out with this I value your insight.
Hackett was probably helped by Rodgers being able to read defenses all those years and the jets system was developed with Rodgers in mind. Now they have to adapt to Wilson and they don’t know how
Or move becton to his natural position at left tackle and also move move Vera tucker to left guard so that we have a strong side to run and we also have complete protection of Zach’s blindside so he doesn’t get horribly injured like rodgers.
I wanna see Big Ticket and AVT on the left and I would like to see Tipman and Max too..but there's still 1 spot they don't have a young stud for. They used all their picks on players that aren't playing...Like a UDFA plays more than they do...So crazy.. Thanks for this video.
The Hall drop wasn't on him, It was a horribly designed play, with 3 different Jet Blockers passing between Wildon and Hall. He didn't see the pass till the last second. It was also thrown low and at a high speed for that distance.
Great video. I think this highlights something I've been saying since last Sunday, there isn't a QB in the world who's winning us that game with this O-line play. Rodgers might've had a worse performance than Zach since he's not as mobile. I like what I saw from Zach for the first 3 quarters. And if Sauce doesn't DROP the pick 6, this game might've had a whole different tune to it.
Bad game plan, but this ultimately falls on the HC Saleh. Saleh should have been insistent in game prep to see a plan for Parsons. Saleh should have been screaming in the headset after the first 2 series for Hackett to do something different to defend against Parsons. Saleh stood there and watched his QB take a beating for the entire first half until finally after half time they had few double teams on Parsons. Saleh has no influence on the offensive side of the ball and that's a problem; either he doesn't know anything about offense or he doesn't feel he has the gravitas and authority to direct an OC.
Dog crap. No TE chips, no TE Screens, no RB Screens, no play action, no roll outs, no misdirection. Also, why didn't they put Hardman in the slot like Dallas did with Lamb? Why wasn't sauce on their only receiver the whole game? W T absolute F were they thinking?
Those cowboy blitzes and michah parsons visions are going to haunt zach for the next 20 years. Jeez. If that was 40 year old aaron rodgers back there he would have got bludgeoned!!!!
Micah Parsons on Conner McGovern was filthy. Frenetic energy, Parsons can explode in any direction amd certainly toward your weaknesses. Insane generational football talent.
Fans need to set their expectations of what they consider to be a good GM much higher. Hiring two poor offensive play callers and neglecting arguably the most fundamental position group in this sport is not what we call a good GM. The problem is fans view the NFL through an NBA lens. They think skill position players can out talent the opponent for wins. To a degree, that is true. But once the season hits the playoffs the teams that push forward are well coached and fundamentally sound. The New York Jets are still not one of those teams with or without Aaron Rodgers. Zach Wilson will be a very successful quarterback for a different ball club. The idea that fans latch onto is that he can’t perform under pressure. Guys, no quarterback is participating in high stakes games when they don’t have time to throw the ball. This idea that pressure creates diamonds is so misinterpreted. Yes, the quarterbacks who play well in meaningful games are considered amazing but you can’t ever ignore team building fundamentals like hiring an actual OC (not Lafleur or Hackett) and building an offensive line.
Yep, and now you get Billy Turner as your LT this week and maybe for the next four weeks. Better get some TE blocking help and put Nick Bawden back there to help block too.
We have all sh!t on QBs who said they learned to read D from the Madden games, but even a semi pro Madden athlete such as myself can see in these clips Wilson should have audibled to a run up the middle with all those open lanes. Honesty IDC about down and distance when you have Hall and Cook with that kind of acreage
The only reason have Buddy Hackett is because of trying to woo Rodgers. I never wanted the 39 yo loaner qb. I was pushing for Derek Carr or Daniel Jones. Like with dating you should not have to impress a 39 year old. They should be the one impressing you
So are people just pretending like this was all on Hackett when this could also be the players messing up assignments. Nick Mangold pointed out based on common rules AVT should've stayed with the slide protection on the stunt from 11 and laken sliding to block the DT instead of helping Connor sounds oddly familiar to his performance last year. This could he as simple as the stress of adjusting to the a plan for a top 5 defense while missing the reason most of these people signed to this team. And having to improvise with new personnel that Hack has no real experience with. I've seen this man design masterpieces against Aaron Donald in the redzone theres no way im believing people saying he doesnt know what hes doing.
@@PlayLikeAJet he does deserve blame but just like we saw people immediately blame everything on Zach i believe the game showed you the loss was on everyone from the gm to newly signed Cook. This was the first game they got to put everything on the line without 8 and it showed exactly what you'd expect. People cry about Breece's touches but just 2 weeks ago there was talk he might start on PUP. This was the worst case scenario to start but doubling on Hack just for his dumb comment of underestimating is even crazier
@@leaveblank2791 I feel that..but he/the coaches on offense made zero in game adjustments, tried nothing different...I mean I don't know how long half time is but it seems like they would have enough time to come up with a new plan. They've been without 8 for 8 quarters of football..8 even warned them in a preseason press conference about the Oline.IJS..We underestimated his talent until proven otherwise. They get paid millions to be brilliant.
@@jetupny6260 Yea to that point exactly right in them having to come up with something at least change of formation im not saying he doesn't deserve any blame Hack knows it's gonna be on him and he didnt do himself any favors with his comment i just feel that people are using it as an excuse to have something to blame since they couldn't put it all on zach. I guess we'll see against bill who i assume will be doing an imitation of Dallas
Joe D "we are gonna build from the inside out" In year FIVE still giving you a terrible O-Line And wasted a 1 on Will McDonald who does not even dress this year!
Hackett was never a play calling OC with the packers. Jets knew that when they got him. This is on Robert Saleh and the front office. Coach Rodgers is there only hope at this point.
Zach is our last hope this year at QB, He should never be sent into a QB sneak scrum with 300lb men twisting and bending your body backward and sideways. Andy Reid has forbidden Mahomes from ever doing a sneak since he dislocated his patella in his rookie year. Bring in a FB and a RB and either run it down their throats or throw a play action pass to the TE, the QB sneak with Zach on 3rd and 1 after the successful 4th down fake punt killed all of our momentum, plus if the FB/RB fail on 3rd and 1, you can try again on 4th down. No one ever does this, but if you are going with an empty backfield with 1 TE, or no TE's, and your OL is the pits, then maybe put your QB 15 yards back in punt formation and take advantage of his movement and strong arm to avoid the rush and still throw downfield, at least the edge rushers will get tired having to run another 10 yards on every pass. Even though our defense was being kept at bay all game, if our offense had a viable game plan ( no QB sneaks, use 2 or 3 TE, and proper use of our first stringers) we could have won that game. There was a 2nd and 10 play where Breece broke some tackles and got 5 yards, he got up from the tackle and its now 3rd and 5, then Breece ran off the field and Michael Carter came in to replace him... and you guessed it, the 3rd down failed and we punted again. On 3rd down you want your best players in the game. It makes no sense to give everyone equal reps when you have a superstar RB on your team.
I know Duane Brown was terrible but the lack of game plan from Hackett was so, so concerning to me
Exactly!! Ruckert, Conklin, Carter, etc etc.. No help on containing Parsons. It boggles my mind. Simply awful!
Is this Hackett or more on Oline coach? What do you expect the starting Oline will be Tom?

Terrible stuff
100%. Also running to the left side instead of behind AVT and Becton is getting ridiculous.
Yep 100%
Going to need more from Hackett
Hacket never called plays with greenbay and we all saw what happened with Broncos. If Saleh is having him call plays he should be fired.
Never thought I would say it but Lefluer is better than Hackett
Hackett was probably helped by Rodgers being able to read defenses all those years and the jets system was developed with Rodgers in mind. Now they have to adapt to Wilson and they don’t know how
