    I've been receiving ivig 60 grams (Gammaguard) since 2004 and it's for life. Wanted to let you know you did great. Here are some helpful tips that could also help you....drink lots of water before and during infusion, sleep during infusion, ask for more benadryl at your bump ups to hopefully help prevent migraines, drink caffeine after infusion ,and go home and sleep. Benedryl and Tylenol can be taken 24 hours after infusions to help with migraines. You can unfortunately feel sluggish and tired for up to 3 days after infusion. Sometimes i have no side effects from the infusions too. Glad you never give up!

      @ChronicallyJaquie  Před 6 lety +5

      Yes we increased my hydration this time which seemed to help a lot. I cannot drink much due to my GP but I do IV hydration. No caffeine for me but the Benadryl does help as well (: I hope I get to a point where I no longer have side effects. People say that can happen as time goes on.

    Thank you for responding yesterday, I'm so glad that things have been better I'm sorry you had to deal with the reactions you did but so glad they have gotten better than they were last time. One treatment at a time and fingers crossed they fully go away. Even after 10 years of it with my son now and then he still has some rea actions but nothing benadryl doesn't help take away. Please rest and praying each day you feel just a little better. Hugs from Ca,🤗

    So relieved to see you're doing better with this IVIG! I love that you allow nothing to stop you from your goals...I probably would have called it quits had I endured what you went through the last time! You've got your eyes on the prize and you're going for it no matter what and it's so inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing your daily battles with all of us! Sending love and good vibes your way!

    Hi I've been following you since may. I started watching because of Harlow but I stayed because I "fell in love" with you and your family and I get happy when you're doing well and worry and hurt when you're not doing well. And today for some reason I didn't get a notification when the vlog got updated so had a small panic attack thinking that the IVIG made you really sick again. I'm so happy this time went better and that you're still doing ok at least! Love and prayers from Filippa in Sweden ❤️

    Hey Jaquie! SO glad you are doing better this time around in IVIG. I just wanted to bring something to your attention though. My golden retriever was recently diagnosed with Golden Retriever Pigmentary Uveitis -- it's a chronic illness in the eyes where cysts form inside and disturb the vision. It is a very serious condition with no cure and little treatment options. The disease forms in pure bred golden retrievers, and it's best to diagnose early before the condition gets worse. Please take Harlow to get her eyes checked -- and for anyone else who has a pure bred golden. Sadly, my dog was diagnosed at 10, and the doctors say that it starts to appear later in life, but it was always there even if she was young. I just wanted to let you know.

      Shelby Greenwood first hello and hoping you are coping well and asymptomatic☺ Im a Canadian with Crohns disease and a superstitious atheist/possibly agnostic.
      I come from a mixed family and do practice some aspect of Cree (Nehiwaywin) spirituality...but that doesn't require a belief in a god just a general thankfulness for all of life. As a non religious person I get through the trauma and hospital stays with support from friends, family, my partner...pretty much same as you all (I imagine?). Afterwards at home I see a counselor to cope and spend time walking my dog and snuggling my cat.
      I'm honestly not sure how I cope differently except for the prayer aspect? I do pray but it's just general thankfulness and asking that all the people I love will be ok. I usually don't pray about myself ever.
      So I'm not christian or new age or anything but I feel like my culture's spirituality is a personal thing. There are no priests and growth happens by sharing with others and listening to the elders stories. I'm not required to feel guilty or like I need to be forgiven...im only required to do my best, be kind honest and to share what I have and learn from my mistakes.
      The other side of my family practices a really racist classist version of evangelical Christianity that I rejected as unhealthy (for me...not bashing any other christians..just my birth father) so I have had a hard time over the years being respectful of Christianity. As an adult however I have many people I care for who are religious so I am always supportive of whatever helps people. Just because it isn't for me doesnt mean I don't hope it makes your life easier and happier.
      I feel like if I believed in god I would have a harder time because I would always be asking why? As if there were a reason other than sucky genetics and environmental triggers. But I wonder how it makes it easier for you?
      I sincerely hope I haven't been offensive because religion is hard for people to talk about but I wanted to answer your question☺ consensual cyberhugs

      No you were not offensive, I am not religious I just serve God,
      I don't ask God why, because he didn't question why when he died on the cross for me!
      I hope you have a beautiful week!
      Nice talking with you!😉

    It's quite apparent that Judd paid attention in the CLS course lol. My husband aced his and tries to get me to let him start IVs on me. Umm no! My veins are too fragile. The medic in me always notices a persons veins and I secretly wonder if it would be fun to take their blood. I was a good medic but I can barely get into the ambulance as a patient anymore let alone a medic. My career and my kids childhood are two things I lost being sick. I sure hope this ivig helps you because no one deserves to be sick.

    Im glad the ivig is working for you with no hospitalizing side effects this time!! Do you think at some point you won't have your port accessed 24/7 since you're having less angeodema attacks? Or either way would you still keep it accessed for your infusions? I kinda wonder about that when you use your port because I remember you saying once that you were keeping it accessed for those attacks and that it can be a risk to have it accessed all the time, but it was worth the risk b/c of the attacks.

    • @ChronicallyJaquie
      @ChronicallyJaquie  Před 6 lety +1

      I use it every day mostly for IV meds and my frequent infusions so for now it is accessed 24/7. Highest point of infection risk is when accessing/deaccessing. So the less you do it, the better. Since I use it so much right now it is best to keep it accessed 24/7.

  • @ZombiieLoveQuadCreations

    I just had my first ivig treatment Friday and Saturday (February 9th and 10th) and I feel so incredibly awful I just want to cry! I don’t have all the medicine you have to help with nausea and pain and all that.. I don’t have a fever but a bad headache I’m sure it’s not meningitis.. I am wondering how long I’m going to feel so bad after because it’s so awful 😭
