I was pretty worried about crossing this rope bridge when I initially saw it online, especially given the huge gaps in between the wooden slats which you can fall straight through. And then the stars aligned and fate decreed that we'd end up crossing it during the worst storm in 50 years. What an absolute nightmare.
Love the content Chris keep this up and surely you'll be recognize as Ryotaro's apprentice of Doom
It may have been a personal nightmare, but think of THE CONTENT!! And it WAS great content đ€©
lolololololololololololoolollolololololooloolol
your channel is the BEST to Watch on youtube I hope to go to Japan one day and cross pass meeting you and your crew in japan is the closest to ever visiting modern Neverland.
You guys are Brave!!!! I was like heck nooooo!!!! đ
When you guys come together, the worst possible things, like the horrid weather manages to find you. Not gonna lie though, when the camera pointed down showing the wide gaps, I felt my heart drop. đ
To be fair, the people who made it put a ton of effort in making sure each length of wood had at least 10 ropes around it
I canât believe the Temple of doom vibes that bridge gives me.
That drone shot was a gamble on a rainy day
I'm loving these clips, a good way to tide us over until your full length videos come out
We've got a new video out this week and some big videos inbound!
Good way to make us want to rewatch.
someone tell them
â@@bmo3778 tell them what?
Despite watching the original video I couldn't resist watching Chris getting traumatized again. Abroad in Japan Clips Channel is a brilliant idea.
You are so dramatic with your choice of words to describe experiences and I love it.
"Made out of vines that have to be replaced every 3 years..."
Should have put a sign up at the halfway point "Maintenance delayed due to Covid."
that crash bandicoot line omg đ€Ł it helps that crash 1 had that bridge in the sky level too đ
Gotta say. This clips idea was great. It's also a great way to look back at stuff that I already watched in the other channel. And...to show friends specific scenes. xP
Great idea! Thanks for the content!
The film gods were smiling down on you both that day. What an incredible perfect storm moment that resulted in no deaths or injuries. What are the freakin' chances you go there during a downpour and the river is raging. Im glad everyone was safe and i appreciate your putting yourselves at risk for what turned out to be a freakin awesome video.
Take Natsuki to an otoboke Beaver concert.
I'm loving this channel so far! Shorts are awesome for me to rewatch the highlights.
I'm still wondering how do they ones repair the bridge every 3 years. That's crazy!
1:51 the dude behind Chris being all like âSumimasen, chickensâ
hm.. it's kind of funny, because I had a completely relaxed experience compared to this. I went in autumn, the weather was beautiful and the water very calm. The only thing I was worried about was that I'd drop my camera, so I didn't take many pictures. But with that rain and raging river no way I would've crossed there. đ
I'd love for Natsuki to go on a calm day, shoot his own video and then have Chris show a side by side video of the two đ€Ł
Crossing at that insane weather was such a questionable decision
The moment when Chris tries to spin his hear đ€Ł Hello gorgeous! Lol
The gaps is making me nervous omg
A new video from Chris always cheers me right up! đ
Booked flights for November, fingers crossed.
I'd love to see you revisit this bridge.
This made me laugh my head off at the time although i'm scared of heights so i'd probably faint if that was me (keep up the great content Chris)
jajaja The rain, the water, the wind!! jjajja great line on a script....
I don't get why they brought an umbrellađ
need some sort of parachute if you fall down
This is the most awesome thing filmed. The look the danger the reactions and sheer beauty. This is just perfect. More please
The dramatic music kills me every time đ
10 points for the Crash Bandicoot reference đ
You think the brown colour is from the wood? No it's from all the people who shat their pants walking through this nightmare
This is good contentâŠjust keep posting videos like this
This was epic. Great editing made this even more riveting!
Chris having experienced near death when he was with Ryotaro now does the same thing to Connor. He's like Saw where he's the victim of many death defying adventures become Ryotaro's apprentice in luring friends to their demise
Literally my recurring nightmare. I'm sure there must be a reason for the gaps...maybe the people who build it all wear clown shoes?
Ryotaro: *is trying to kill Chris*
Chris: *is trying to kill Connor*
I went for a walk today too!
....bought some groceries too...
Loving the idea of satiating us with bite size clips Chris! It's a good way to relive those iconic moments and get an ABIJ daily fix! ;)
I was gonna lol at Connor getting more use out of that elevator in japan pic but then I remembered whose channel Im on. Nicely played, Chris.
There are steel wires under the steps, you can see them - also says so on sites about the bridge. Still looks real gnarly, which is really cool.
Welcome to Shikoku !
I'd have crawled across that, and only if there was no other bridge for 20 miles.
Scary as hell.
watching brits suffer is prime content
I actually want to go on it to get over my fear of heights
I will never get tired of this duo. The best dynamic duo on youtube
It's so good I liked the video twice
This was literally one of the scariest things I saw on your channel, and now it's come back to haunt me.
Ah I remember the original video...damn time flies so fast
Love how you put your brolly âïž up when youâre already soaked lol
Looks exciting. Would love to try it.
That is one scary ass bridge.
Great takes đ
Is the phrase "Whinging Pom" appropriate?
Eez ohnlee ah bee oh waa-er dookee!!!
I'm having some serious case of deja vu, like I've seen this before in the past đ€
"Like crash bandicoot"
The most 80/early 90 one can call someone out đ
Somewhere in the Philippines, we have a similar bridge that's weaker, thinner, and sways a ton more than that
Here before your clips channel blows up ;)
Imagine ice on it
Got to admit, that bridge looks fucking awesome. I'd love to try it.
Is this the bridge from "Old Enough"? The episode where the little boy buys a huge block of Tofu??
For some reason i actually holding my mouse way to hard when watching this video.
Chris has just been triggering my acrophobia lately! Jesus, I don't know how you're convinced into doing some of this wacky shit.
Itâs called living. Try it someday
Chris's enlargement has been foretold by this ancestors when they were naming him.
Chris BROAD
So good
Soaked to the skin and still clinging on to his umbrella. You might as well give up at that point
I need to check this bridge out, it looks amazing.
Lol laughing at their expense, I'm sorry.
You guys must've been wearing adult diapers crossing that thing, cause I would've been shitting myself the whole way through.
If these vines break, at least I'm grasping onto this......wait, what...every 3 years?
My toxic trait is thinking I could do that in a minute flat.
There's a certain irony about being terrified to cross a bridge, yet standing on it complaining.
"Abroad in Japan" pfffth more like "I'm about to die in Japan"
This is what your parents talk about when they said they had to walk to school at your age
This reminds me of a scene from Shrek
Oh it's clips, I didn't notice
Pretty sure I watched it before
2:10 soaked in rain like he jumped into the river
2:18 lemme get my umbrella I dont wanna get wet
Love it :D
Damn this clip from the whacky weekend, is damn scary, i mean just look at the fcking river, you slip there and you are a goner!!!!
Wow that hair flipđ€Ł also why didn't you guys have any jackets onđ€Ł
Lucky you didn't die of pneumonia AFTER the crossing !
PS: Excellent choice of music đ
Not sure why I am watching stuff I watched before. But here I am, watching random clips. :D
"Mola ram, prepare to meet Kali... IN HELL!!!"
1:49 i cant believe i missed joeys cameo
My name is Chris Broad, and welcome to Jackass. This oneâs called âBridge Over Troubled Waters!â
Am I horrible for laughing so hard at their terror?! đ€Łđđ
Ancient Rome made some good roads, Japan made some good bridges (even if some of them are quite scary)
This was terrifying just to watch.
I would definitely cross that bridge when itâs not raining đ I hate slippery floors and falling can be really painful đ©
I was so worried watching this despite knowing full well my babes would be okay
Niceee
Bringing the British weather to Japan
Never Been this Early :D I would never cross that bridge. When was the last time they replaced the vines hmm?
Wat a bridge đ!
That bridge is only possible because lawsuits arenât really a thing here.
People in Japan are generally sensible and avoid going near a river after heavy rain. No need for lawsuits if we donât do stupid things.
Wellbit looks solid đ đ€Ł
LOVING CHRIS AND CONNOR'S CONTENT! C2 tag team ahahahahhaha
8 out 10 on the content scale đ
"Though they retain much of the original aesthetic, today's bridges are
more sturdy than their predecessors: steel cables are hidden beneath the
vines, the gaps between planks measure seven inches, and each bridge is
rebuilt every three years. "
Why is it that you are always surrounded by pure chaos when traveling together with Connor? I refuse to believe this is all on purpose jajaja
LMAO! I want to get in the car. I want to go home đ
Monke is in his element, apparently...
I mean he was with his hands free .
Still surprised you didn't use the bridge as the main image and attraction of the video. This was hella more exciting and eye-catching than the hotel.
Then again, this isn't how YT works sadly..
These cats out there living their best lives. đđâ€
