Hubby and I travel 6 mos in our RV then back home to Washington state. Been retired since 2016, but we’ve been rving for many years. You make many great points. I agree with you, there will be a huge glut of used Rv’s as soon as people tire of it or it gets too expensive, like you said. We still intend to stay the course and travel in our rv mostly to stay in Arizona for winter.

Hey, know whats really cheap? Buy a chunck of land install septic and a water cistern. Spend time there in your rv with no cost monthly and go on trips when you want. Also get a 500 watt ac and put some real insulation in your rig. And get a good amount of solar panels. We have 1kw on our rig and a kw on our molile garage we tow behind. This lifestyle is going to grant to people exactly what they planned fir and how self reliant they are. Someone i know just had to fork out nearly 2500 in a brake job for pads and turned rotors. I just did all four rotors calipera and pads for under 800 and had it done in one day because i did it myself. This lifestyle will only work for self reliant types very soon. People that pay for everything and do nothing themselves will have to give it up! Labor has always been the highest cost and its going up as well. Also choice of rigs is going to become critical! Junk rigs that come out of the factory overpriced and needing to be rebuilt from day one is going to finacially ruin some people. Servicability and maintainability are top priorities that a lot of people getting into rving dont have a clue about and they listen to the companiea ripping thwm off for advice. Never trust an industry that has lobied for no lemon laws over them that then claim to establish certification for repair techs! They are all liars! The only beat hope anyone has is to find a older wiser experiwnced and skilled tech and that too will cost. Those that are such techs and enjoy rving will still be out there im one of them!

You have a strong argument. I try and do ALL my repairs myself. Saves a lot of money. Just replaced a shifttube that broke off in my hand myself. And yes, have been actively looking at buying land (which has skyrocketed also). As I mentioned in this vid, the Nomad lifestyle is hard enough without our Government making it harder. That also includes greedy Corporations. Thanks for the respectful comment.

@@ThisNomadicIdea i think that typical americans have lost all lessons from the great depression in general. People spend money to escape doing anything themselves. On the land issue most states will not allow full time occupancy in an rv many wont even allow tiny houses. We did a crap ton of due dilligence to find property that allows full time rv occupancy as long as you install approoved septic. We saw what was coming and we used our "free money from our stimulus to buy our land" we have been very fortunate but it comes from our life plan adapting and veiwing our life as a mission to mars and doing everything ourselves. We use our hands to dig the hole for the septic tank and trenches for the drain field, we bought an old taylor dun aircraft tug to use as a tractor to grade our road and repaired it to working order with our knowlege and skills and effort. We build greenhouses with as much recycled material as possible. I do repair and welding jobs for others sometimea just in trade for materials they consider scrap and are doing nothing with. I do solar installs and build LiFePO4 batteriea for people that cant afford name brands for a fraction of the cost and still make out well. Fools spend 7000 or more for a 7 kWh powerwall when you can build a similar battery bank for under 1500 in parts. I have lived believing that he who can build what he wants and repair what others cannot will live a rich life. To be honest the last few years have been the fullest and most joyful of my life! I have hot showers nightly from the dump load f excess energy my solar panels collect, i burn less than 15 gallons of propane in 8 months cooking and suplementing hot water and i can use our biodigeater to save propane even more. All our garden waste serves a purpose and i plan on adding fsh to our system as well. Mushrooms grow fast and have a lot of food value. My most precious posessions are my milling machine my lathe my tig and stick welder and my brains! If your in az come check out the area of the northeast. Most that stay in that region are self starting typea that buold actual lives for themselves. And land is still very reasonable. Most that buy here leave in leas than 6 months if they come from cities as they simply do not have what it takes to be self sufficient enough to make it here. Very little time for playing games if you are actually homesteading. I would love to talk with you as you seem to have some secent insights and you think critically for yourself rather than believing propoganda..... Unfortunately i have to stay on the laundry while the sun is still giving extra energy and my solar stills need routine maintenence so we keep getting more freah water from grey water and i have to dig more water storage ponds as well for the coming rains. I would love to chat after the sun goes down lol. Happy travels and inlakesh my friend.

I'm thinking on the same lines as you & I'm planning on getting into "This Nomadic Idea" lifestyle part time this winter. Since this will be new to me, I plan on using my Ford Transit Connect van along with a 5'X8' enclosed trailer (using existing vehicle & trailer) to keep costs down. That way if I don't continue traveling to get away from the Wisconsin winters, I can go back to using the van & trailer as before. If I do like it & want to upgrade my equipment, & hopefully will be able to take advantage of some of the deals you are predicting. Thank you sharing the awesome videos.

As a single senior citizen, I had considered buying and living fulltime in a class c motorhome, but with the current high price of RVs new and used along with the inflated gas prices, it's just too cost prohibitive. Disappointed.

There will be a flood of people scrambling to buy electric pickup trucks. Between F-150 Lightning, Rivian Pickup and Tesla's Cybertruck, that will be the future.

I hate to be doom and gloom, but I expect things are gonna get a whole lot worse, especially if the BUILD BACK BROKER legislation passes. I’m only a part-timer and everyday life is SO MUCH MORE expensive, food, gasoline, utilities, etc., etc., which impacts my ability to travel. For me, that’s the least of my worries. I heat with ng and I’m trying to save every bit of $$ I can in prep for winter so I can have heat. Again, I hate to be doom and gloom, but Biden is destroying our nation from every angle and we’ll all begin to feel the repercussions, if we aren’t already. He’s caused so many big issues for our nation. I definitely think there will be deals on RVs, but I’ll be surprised if they flood the market, given all these people are in debt for these things. I’d be surprised if anyone will sell at a super significant loss.

infrastructure spending creates jobs, tax breaks to the rich do not. record setting debt and deficits from previous administration destroyed the US and repubs. left another mess for someone else to clean up.

@@theroadnottaken9378 Clearly you don’t know all of what’s in this infrastructure bill any more than the rest of us. What we do know is that out of the 1.2TRILLION dollars committed under this bill, only 9.1% is for actual infrastructure. And if you’re talking to your neighbors, you’ll understand … nobody disagrees with the need for infrastructure.

Whether I agree with your views or not, I’m not here for politics. Plenty of better channels that stay out of it. I know one subscriber is probably not a huge deal for you, but you lost this one.

Specifically, what “views” are you referring to? The content was asking whether inflation was going to take people off the road. Did you even watch the video? I asked a question! It was not political at all. Other than the fact that there are stickers on gas pumps all over the Country or at least in all 5 States I drove through.
