FINALLY! The last part to the beginner’s wet on dry techniques tutorial! I’m so sorry this took so long, I’ve been away from home for the past three and a half months and things have been crazy, BUT ITS FINALLY HERE!!!
kelogsloops when painting hair, would it be better to use the pulling (detailed) technique on wet paper or on dry paper? Love your videos btw, your art is absolutely beautiful and your tutorials are very helpful :).
when doing hair, i prefer to do wet on dry! that way you can get crisp lines and more defined forms / shapes in the hair. On wet paper, things tend to get messy and you can really lose the form and lines if you arent careful!
This was one of the best tutorials I’ve seen. A lot of artist show you the techniques with a piece, but don’t break down the actual, technical principles behind each technique. I love abstract watercolors, so I really enjoyed the explanation of bleeds, and feathers. Thanks so much!
Wow uhm, so just randomly discovered you yesterday! Super talented. My Uncle paints landscapes using acrylic paints, and my dad has painted landscapes all his life using oil based paints. (We used to watch Bob Ross together when I was little) #happylittletree Ive tried both mediums and just hasn't ever worked out even though painting seems to run in the family. Going through kind of a rough time / transition in my life and needed some way to relive stress and create. After randomly coming across this channel and then basically binge watching all your vids, I drove to the craft store 10 mins before it closed last night and bought everything I needed to start. Practicing these today and am feeling really inspired. Thanks for being you!
Honestly who needs Skillshare when people like you are kind enough to share those 'secrets' just for kicks? Thanks so much!!! Learned way more by watching 3 of your videos than I ever did in 2 months on Skillshare 😊
Been looking forward to this ever since I found your previous tutorials. Really great teaching style, to go along with your beautiful painting style :)
I'm so impressed by your ability, enthusiasm, and light-hearted teaching style! Please keep it up...you just inspired me to dig out that set of water colour paints I haven't touched in ages!
Thank you for such great content. Im 55 and truly thought artists were inspired at birth. As I learn, Im more and more amazed that there actually is an artist within me 😅🙏
A lot of these techniques are very interesting, why do people not use them enough? My favorite are the splatters, I use them a lot in my own works. Thank you for sharing this! I have a few ideas I need to try out now 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of watercolour. You are very talented. I have just this morning found your tutorials. Along with learning from your videos, I love to listen and watch you. Lovely young man. This is from an old lady trying to have fun with watercolour. Thank you again. Sherie

Hi! Can you do a wet on wet watercolor techniques? I asked my friends if they want a watercolor tutorial from me but I stumbled upon on this video of yours and I think you explained it so well so I'm thinking of just linking them your videos because they will understand your explanation better than mine. 🤣🙈 I'd love to share your videos to them. You are so talented!
I Love your videos and tutorials and i know your probably super busy but i have one and ONLY one suggestion. You should make videos more frequently everyone loves your work/style and we are all looking for more! Thanks for your consideration!

This really helps! there were somethings that i did differently, but there are some new things that are really intersting to have, thank you for making this turorial! :D
I love your tutorials and I love that your explanations are very detailed. I have a question, when you do a sketch do you sketch on an angled surface like using a drawing board or an equivalent or do you sketch on a flat surface?
I don't know about Hieu, but generally a lot of artists like an angled surface for drawing so that their eyes are perpendicular to the paper. otherwise you will be viewing the paper from an angle, and your lines can get stretched vertically without you realising
