All I have to say is Bestech is killing the OEM game right now. Their name brand stuff never seems to hit quite the same, but the one in this video seems to bring the awesome action into the equation which is really nice to see.

I talked to Rick. The Ocaso is intended strictly as a desk knife (knives?). He says that he's working on an EDC version with a single blade.
There have been kitchen scissors like that for years. You open them fully and they come apart at the pivot for cleaning. Nobody ever used them for knives because anywhere you would have the scissors you would also have a drawer full of knives.
Squeeze the life out of it very comfortably...haha great line there.😅

I just wish katsu zk01 02 were not friction folders… I love the zdp189 and especially the convex grinds.. but I wish they did thumb studs / spydie holes or even flippers…
I've listened to you call out the problems with sharpening choils and plunge grinds for several years now. How in the hell to knife companies not get that right. We should boycott every knife that doesn't have a proper sharpening choil until they get it right. It really pisses me off.
I agree 100%. In this day and time for this to be blatently missed is unacceptable. That and lock-bar access is crutial in my book. Hell, the steel doesn't even matter for the most part. Give me a well thoughtout tool in (properly treated)14C.... I'm a happy dude.
I'm not sure at this point it's crazy, I do know that it's usually on the designer not company, which they might not watch

I find Ocaso's Duo Desk Knife Wharnie or Spear Pt quite interesting. Probably pick one up if and after I find the steel and HRC specs.

I'm interested to know what you meant by smile, in regards to the egde being close to the plunge grind
He means that when you sharpen a knife with a poor plunge grind/sharpening choil, the stone will start to cut into the plunge line itself and leave a mark (the smile)
