I was literally just about to say this! and once I got my hands on a traktor control unit it was game over... so much more creative possibilites than traditional djing

check out richie hawtin etc. hes been doing it since the 90s. personally 4 decks just fucks with my head too much to be fun to mix but its fun until my head explodes :D i only have an S2 tho so i have to control other 2 decks with midi controllers which isnt easy. i want an s8 but too cash strapped.
@@lachlancarr7133 great to see someone actually doing 4 decks and see what they are doing, not just the usual touching the high, mid, bass occasionally to make it look like youre doing anything :D

Are you using the internal FX in Traktor as well as the Pedal ? If so how do you route your Traktor FX through your 96 ?

Can you please share xone 96 mapping.
You don't have to map the cone:96, it is Traktor certified out of the box.
You just have to download the driver, then plug it the usb cable in the mixer and your laptop and you are ready to start.
Internally you can freely map the channel to the way it fits best your needs, so that you have 6 stereo in- /outputs plus you can decide if the master output should be routed digitally to the laptop.

Hey, I'm just using the standard Traktor delay and reverbs.
What sound card are you using?
Internal Xone 96 sound card :)
maybe not a great idea to redline on the 96... maybe you can get away with it on the pioneer, but not here. As far as I am aware it does not have an inbuilt limiter as the pioneer
Redlining analogue equipment will often give great sound, but redlining a shitty digital mixer with produce crap sound.
@@sheenodj That doesn't make any sense. That headroom is there for a reason. There is no logical and practical reason for it to "sound great" in red.
@@vpnikolov Digital equipment “clips” when pushed (which sounds terrible), whereas analogue equipment can saturate or distort when pushed hard (which can sound amazing).
@@sheenodjget a little redlining do make the sound cool,but if you redlining it way too much without a limiter that gonna do harm to the mixer and the in-build soundcard
Allen&Heath clearly stated that you should meter your signal at around +-0 with peaks to +6/-6 for the best sound quality (site 39 of the manual), to have some headroom for unexpected peaks and to protect the mixer.
If you like crunch or distortion, which is perfectly ok for this kind of music, you can route for example canal 1-4 through one filter section, but only use the crunch-knob of the filter section.
There are many DJs working with mixed digital/analogue Setups, describing this as some sort of packing the sound of 4 different tracks together in one compact sound.

I asume that your tracks are not always running in the same beat. How can you fix that while playing with your system? You don’t have joghweels to correct... Thanks!

And how about getting a 130bpm and 134BPM track flow together? There is no pitch shift? I think I am too old 😂
@@RC75 im not 100% sure but i think the software syncs everything for you to perfecton (since in cdj looping for a long time slightly de syncs de traks over time)
Hey! Traktor syncs tempo and beat so that tracks are always playing in beat. If they are out of beat, there is a touch strip on the X1 Controller's that you can manually adjust the track with.

I want to configure my setup like yours, I am waiting for my second x1 mk2 to mix with 3 or 4 decks. Could you explain to me how you have configured it in the program? Thanks in advance
Hey, when you plug in your 2nd x1 it will allow you to select the decks to control on the controller. I set mine up A/B on the left one and then C/D on the right one.
You will also need to setup your Traktor in the settings to show 4 decks.
