Interesting that the top voted posts are filled with the most vanilla takes imaginable and it gradually gets spicier as you scroll down. Some people on that site bizarrely think having ANY opnion qualifies as a hot take

I really agree with the Skyrim/Oblivion take. Skyrim (just like Fallout 4 with previous Fallouts) lessened the RPG elements, making it less enjoyable for me. It became hyper obsessed with dragons (which kinda sucked tbh, they were always annoying to fight cuz they were flying all the time). And as a side thing, I prefer the darker, more medieval ambiance of Oblivion.
Loving the vids.
Hot take: just because a game takes a darker (goth-like perhaps) look/feel to it, doesn't make it automatically edgy. That term gets is used way too often for things that don't really fit as edgy imo.
Hot Take 2: Breath of the Wild is overrated and I hope the next Zelda gets off the open-world trend and goes back to how typical Zelda games are.
Hot Take ig: Cyberpunk 2077 was worth the $60 for me even on ps4. I bought it at launch and didnt regret that once.
Ig i wasnt on the hype train as hard as some ppl, so i didnt really notice the missing features. But the atmosphere is impeccable the gunplay is a ton of fun, and the different playstyles all brought different fun ways to solve problems.
Hot take: RockLeeSmile should post more twitch vods to youtube ;)

The worst thing about "Hot takes" is that they are either not controversial at all or purposely written to by a troll to make as many people angry as possible
I think we lost the creative mid budget game from the ps2 era. Modern mid budget games are usually safe and unpolished.
You should make more content like this from time to time, I always liked your more nuanced and thought out over-analysis of random stuff
My gaming hot take is that a lot of games don't need music (even if it is good) and often music harms immersion. As an example, I feel like all of the FarCry series is better played with music muted. Sometimes music provides information to the player (like combat music starting when an enemy spots the player) but music can also obfuscate other sound info like enemy barks and footsteps.
Sometimes youtube reminds me the channel exists and I have so much backlog to go over - tho this video sounds SO interesting already!

Fun video, made me think about how I'd answer and I think the main thing is that game quality is subjective and good games don't exist.
Would've liked to see the reaction to the Battleborn vs Overwatch comment.
I skipped it because the user had a racist name. I liked Battleborn more back then, then I started to like OW as much, eventually surpassing that level of interest. Now I have 2k hours played god help me.

Hey, I'm still streaming on Twitch 5 times a week after all this time. I just don't usually post on here much since I get either little to no response or negative angry people going after me which I've had enough of.
