I cant believe how mapex continues to make the saturn worse with each new version it makes. It really peaked with the three, the four was a step back but still good and these are just terrible looking.
I don't think these Saturn Evolutions are intended to be the equivalent of the III, IV etc. They still make the regular Saturn line. Those are the continuation of the series you mentioned, and they are all maple/walnut. Saturn Evolutions can be configured to be a mixture of Birch/Walnut and Maple/Walnut, e.g you might have the former on the toms but the latter on the bass. The Evo's also have the halo mount on the toms, the regular Saturn doesn't.

Those most certainly are NOT die cast rims. They're 2.3 flanged. And then moon gels on the toms to boot.🙄
