The 2011 Pittsburgh Steelers. A team full of highs & lows. The year that the Steelers finally seem to shutdown Brady, they end up losing to the Tim Tebow led Broncos. This game is one I will never forget. The week of anticipation leading up to this was brutal. I had thought the Steelers had a chance but did not expect them to deliver quite like this without Harrison, Ward & Farrior. A true joy to watch, with some surprising moments (in hindsight), such as AB's first receiving touchdown.

The Steelers go MAN TO MAN! A rare win against a Tom Brady led Patriots team. A game many Steeler fans will never forget. Tom Brady may have had his way again, but for this day in 2011, the Steelers had the better of #12. We would have to wait 7 more years to get this moment again 😭 This receiving squad was special.. And seeing flashes of AB’s greatness as a receiver is evident here. A complete game by the team, even without Harrison, Ward and Farrior. Don’t forget to subscribe! i still think that quintet in 2011 is better than the current bunch you have almost 4000 catches, and still going with 2 players, so might hit that 5000 mark, not to mention the td's and yards...when cotchery is your 5th option, you know you got someting special....and i agree that the current unit has a lot of potential but they have no true number 1 in brown, and wallace(who was a #1 on that team and sanders who was a high 2, to low 1 during years in denver), along with ward who had 1000 catches in his career and was by far the best wr blocker in the modern era(another interesting stat, all of the players appeared in a superbowl at least once with 4 of them winning at least 1)

The only way we beat Brady is if we use Man coverage schemes, and bump n run to knock his timing off and on offense control the time of possession. They executed my plan to perfection😂. But in reality they used Rex Ryans gameplan against the Patriots. The same plan I always said works against them the best

Admittedly this was during a bad stretch of NE football, coming off a string a embarrassing post season losses. This might have been the low point in their rebuild, NE lost every game they played vs teams over .500 that year except the AFC Title Game. Then they blew a 17-6 lead and got shut out in the 2nd half becoming first NFL team ever to lose a SB to a team with less than 10 wins in the reg season. If PGH had been healthy in the playoffs they could have won the AFC but Ben was badly hobbled with an ankle sprain, Troy was hurt, Clark was out, Max Starcks & Brett Kiesel were out, this was the year with NE so weak to grab that title.

Lebeau put Taylor on M2M on Welker and took Welker completely out of the game and severley limited Brady. This never happened again and was such a simple game changer.

There were some great games in 2011 but that was the last year of the SB teams of that era and you could tell the players were getting a little long in the tooth. And then they went on to lose to one of the worst playoff teams of all-time in the Tim Tebow Broncos.

Belichek had a lot of money to palm to the referees. All he had to do was complain about a call & it was reversed & Braby was very busy doing his Braby Pee Pee dance when someone breathed on him pretending to pull a penalty flag out of his pocket while running to the referee & he’d get the roughing the passer call. A legendary pair of cheaters.

This was a great game but in the long run, this became a major disappointment for the following.
This defense was really never implemented again. We continued to get out coached against NE after this game even though we had the blue print. Just freaking dumb.
Also - we lost to the Packers in the SB and I don’t think we played much man coverage.
    DUMB, STUBBORN, you name it.
