Yes he is Awesome, BUT this footage is from another video he did over a year ago. I Like Roth but come on he has to do better stuff than the slow acoustic songs he has been doing in the last 3 years
Like I've always said to many of peeps ...no matter how cool you are... You'll never be David Lee Roth cool.... Heros come and go....but legends....legends last forever
I met him in person at a NIGHT CLUB IN PASADENA IN 2005, managed by our mutual friend Papa Joe...AND HE HAD a few security guards and i sat with him for almost 3 hours...DAVID LEE ROTH IS NICER, COOLER AND EVEN MORE SEXIER IN PERSON...he's a true star and he answered all my questions. #luvdlr4ever ❤️❤️❤️
@@cmikesmith664 I met him at Ralphs on Sunset back in the mid 90s. We talked pushing grocery carts around the store. You always hear about his ego, but I saw none of it that afternoon in the grocery store. Dave's a good man.
Your comment reminds me of a video where Dave was staying at a Las Vegas hotel. He was doing an interview/tour remeniscing on some of the times he's had in Vegas. Anyway, he hears a party going on. VH was playing on the stereo. Dave decides to knock and introduce himself. A clueless twenty-something answers and basically has no idea who he's seeing. Dave was very graceful. He tells the guy who he is. The guy is clearly confused but eventually is kinda like "oh, cool". Dave said he heard the music playing in the hall and that he's stayed in that room before. The guy doesn't even invite Dave in! But, Dave being the class act he is wishes the guy well (bachelor party I believe) on his future and leaves.
I love that the biggest/best rock frontman ever can just ramble and chill in Manhattan. I remember years ago-must have been when he was in his "EMT phase"-i walked into a restaurant to go to the upstairs lounge, and before DLR was just chatting with a bartender at an empty bar. Unassumingly. Just two dudes. And he still has one of my favorite quotes-"Money can't buy happiness...." Van Halen is/was/always will be Eddie and Dave. No substitutes.
@@jjohnson8977 as important as Michael Anthony was to Van Halen and their sound particularly the background vocals. Eddie was, is, will always be the irreplaceable member of Van Halen.
Man David Lee was our cringe worthy parents months drop to the ground said what we all thought lead man of da 80s, I thank you DLR for being our voice.
I love how Dave became like every old Jewish guy in New York City --- wearing his newsboy cap and walking around with his dog, just soaking up the sights
Dave...I'm lovin' you more every day! Just listened to "Your Dirty Little Mouth" in the car today. Pearls before SWINE in the 90s! Everything that you did in the 90s was better than Van Halen's out put in the same period. It seems like you're really on an upswing lately...PLEASE keep busy. You're an important person in the world. We actually NEED you...
This is just great! The music. Dave in his duds. His pup. And of course Ole Blue Eyes and New York City! Just the whole approach to it all. Great. Please proceed.
Loved this video/music clip. It's awesome to see David Lee Roth in my hometown! And I was prepared to do my usual - say how much I thought "Van Halen was always about Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth," but the video sort of baffled me. I wondered what the meaning behind it was. Then I started to read some of the other comments, and when I learned that Dave's dog, Russ, had passed away, and I could see the bond the two shared, I just lost it. I started bawling like a baby. Some creatures leave an indelible mark on the world and on those they come into contact with - Dave and Russ are two such creatures.
Me encanta. Es genial estar después de un recorrido con un buen amigo e intervalos descansos para observar y meditar y regresar al lugar más cercano a la panorámica desde las altitudes ... With a Sinatra voice ( por cierto tonos muy similares )Wonderfull moment Thnks David.
Dave you are great! I loved seeing you with your pet! Very nice video! You always surprise me! You'll always be the best and the greatest frontman of the 80s! Blessings to you! I love you!❤❤
OMG! Diamond Dave & I are leading parallel lives! My dog’s name is Murphy & we travel around seeing interesting stuff together probably about half the time. The other half we stay in bed smoking weed & watching CZcams videos. BEST companion EVER! ✌🏼😘❤️🐾
Decades of being a high powered frontman, singer and showman, and a quiet period, followed by more VH, and a great philosopher, dog lover and heart warming person. Sam wasn't that- Dave owns it all.
Frank Sinatra. Awesome! One of my favorite things to do. Daydream! Can't tell you how many concepts and ideas have came from just sitting in a chair, pondering and daydreaming that eventually, my thoughts come to fruition to become reality. My mind is of constant thought and it's great to go to my happy place to wonder and imagine. Makes me feel like I'm the "chairman" of the board. Lol!
David WAS Van Halen with his kick azz vocals and wild man high pitched animalistic like screams that NO ONE ever did before , nor AFTER !!¡! PLAIN & SIMPLE !°☆ EDDIE TOO ! BUT, i'm talking about hearing a song on the radio and instantly knowing it was Van Halen bcuz of Dave's voice !!! I have that last image saved, it is really wonderful. The unconditional loyalty of a friend and the simplicity of a man with extraordinary talent. Sinatra in the background, a poem just like you.❤
I saw Van Halen when they first toured, and they had just 1 album of material. I think it was Black Sabbath that they warmed up for. Maybe 77-78? I'm 63 and I can't remember exactly when. In Chicago. They rocked and every song on that first album was great. I was 17 or 18.
Absolutely fantastic, Dave! Merry Christmas!🎄 You're reminding me of when I finally got to take my very first trip to NYC back in December 2019, absolutely fell in love with the city and miss it, hope to visit it again. ;) "Street of Dreams", indeed! What a place! Thank you so much for sharing this clip, it eases my yearning to see NYC again a bit. You're so lucky being there! Diamond Dave forever 🐺
I've never seen another person squeeze every single drop of experience out of life like David Lee Roth. He just does whatever he wants, no apologies.
I used to love his stories in the 90's ..... like kayaking around Manhattan and learning to fly helicopters
Sigma Mindset.👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻💯🚀
Daves a multifaceted complex individual who can never be accused of being dull. You got to admire his spirit.
Agreed !😛

It would be so insane to just meet him in person and share a cup of coffee and listen to a story or two of his. What a legend.
Does anyone know if David talks to his fans?
I've seen people saying how they randomly bumped into him, and he happily chated with them, from all acounts he's down to earth
Then you could regale him with your life stories

Dave walking around NYC with a plastic chair and washing the dog in overalls. Inexplicably riveting. Love ya Dave.
Imagine the people walking by him, having no idea who he is. A legend, undercover.
All the time. Except the time when he was really strung out - he stood out.
You mean Frank Sinatra ?@@wells5150
