I rent all of these in dvd format at my local library and get to really enjoy every clifton webb movie there is to see. Im facinated with this character who has excellent timing and brings back the age of unadulterated directness coupled with charm and diplomacy even as he brings down the characters around him....his comedies are nothing without his particular and peculiar type of delivery...masterful and poised he is a man for all seasons. Hope he died in the state of grace!

I THINK HE WAS HYSTERICAL, his actions, mannerisms, the way he spoke had such arrogance!
I have TCM on cable and in 4 yrs.time they rarely put his movies on, it ticks me off!! Sitting Pretty twice and the others the same, C'mon already! My favorite's are Sitting Pretty, well all of his Mr Belvedere movies. It says he was in The Man Who Came To Dinner but I only see it starring the other actor, who is pretty feminine too .... Monty Woolley. He's good but C.Webb the "Bachelor" as they referred to him as, is my favorite. 👌🏼

Clifton Webb was superb in Laura as were the rest of the cast. What a fascinating story! I loved that film.

I've seen most of these. An unlikely favorite for sure. I have a full set of lobby cards from the movie 'Woman's World'.

I was surprised he made so few films and I've only seen 3 of them. His films were popular, especially the family comedies. Thanks for posting.

What are Lobby cards? Do tell, please ❣❤❣
I love his movies and I'm surprised he made so few movies and said to have been very popular and enjoyed by many back in the day. I guess he danced professionally before his acting career began I can just picture that arrogant look on his face Lol, Cracks me up

@@badabing9143 They are 11 x 17 inch mini posters they used to put in theater lobbies to promote the film. In the earlier days they were usually tinted scenes from the movie. They mostly came in sets of 12.

Good video. I have only seen 5 of his movies, but I have really enjoyed his performances in all those movies. You would think maybe I should watch more of his movies. Favorites include #1 Laura...should have won an Oscar for that performance. #8 Woman's World....really liked this one...and he is the best in an outstanding cast. #7 Titanic....not as good as A Night To Remember...but better than Cameron's Titanic. The other two I have seen are #2 Razor's Edge...not a huge fan of this movie....and #10 Three Coins In A Fountain...my least favorite Webb movie that I have seen. Voted up and shared at www.ultimatemovierankings.com/clifton-webb-movies/

@@Top10Charts3978 You HAVE TO see him as Mr Belvedere so damn funny!! Mr. Belvedere rings the bell is really funny and mr. Belvedere goes to college and also Sitting Pretty with Maureen O'Hara and Robert Young, he's Mister Lynn Belvedere which it doesn't say in the title of the movie. She puts an ad in the paper for childcare and taking care of the home he answered the ad , by his first name she didn't expect a man at the door and so on. oh it's hysterical! Well I think so. I've watched them each a couple of times over again. I enjoy him in his comedic roles although he is very good in his dramatic roles also. They referred to him as the "Bachelor" Prissy and fussy 😂
