In this video, we will be having a POV night drive, Sound Driving and Soundcheck Racestart + show you the latest Interior Features of the all-new Mercedes Benz 2023 C43 AMG!
Affalterbach. With technology derived directly from Formula 1TM, the latest generation of the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC sets new standards in terms of innovative drive solutions. Following its premiere in the Mercedes-AMG SL 43 Performance Luxury Roadster, the extensively revised AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine is now being used in the executive segment as the world's first series-production unit with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger. The new form of turbocharging guarantees particularly spontaneous response across the entire rev range and thus offers an even more dynamic driving experience. The turbocharger is operated via the 48-volt electrical system, which also feeds the belt-driven starter- generator (RSG). The result: In the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC, the unit produces 300 kW (408 hp) and, in certain driving situations, briefly provides an additional boost of 10 kW (14 hp) from the RSG. With a power output of up to 155 kW (211 hp) per liter, the latest version of the M 139 engine once again underlines its status as the world's most powerful series-produced four-cylinder engine. The standard rear-axle steering,
the AMG Performance 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque split, the AMG
SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with wet clutch and the suspension with Adaptive Damping System also contributes to the dynamic driving experience. In keeping with this, brand-specific features in the equipment and appointments as well as in the exterior and interior design emphasize the performance-oriented character of the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4 MATIC.

I find it so strange that Mercedes didn't put more effort into the exhaust note. 4 cylinder engines can sound good if effort is put in. In my opinion, it'll never beat the V6 of the previous generation but they can at least try to make it sound the best they could. My only guess is that they're saving the better sound for the c63 since they both share the same engine..
I think they went with a refined note as this is still a daily driver classed car.
@@AlexA-bx8jr You can have refined and exciting without much compromise. All you need is exhaust valves like the w205. One click of a switch and you go from refined to excitement.

I love your honesty & understand your frustration with the new sound. I can't argue with that. I love the 'boom' sound on upshifts though it's more suited to cars like Golf R. We will miss V6's & V8's...
if they make it sound like 2016 CLA45s then it would be perfect.

Interesting. The interior looks so nice and modern but Iâm surprised how much quieter it is to the CLA45s. I expected them to sound similar. I canât help but wonder if they purposely made this quieter to make the new C63 feel louder.

@@mr.benz Thats what everyone said when the A35 released. In the end the A35 has a way louder and better sound than the A45. Dont expect anything else for that C63 and C43

@@xTheR4ven bro the CLA45 is a true hand built AMG engine. It definitely has to sound better. A35 is a factory engine and below the the less aggressive and faster 45
Agree that the exteriorâs a 10/10, interiorâs a 15/10. The soundâŠ? Sounds like a really good blender. Reminds me of a comment that Jason Cammisa made of the Giulia Quadrifoglioâs engine note: âSounds like 2 drunk 3 cylinders having an argument.â

Sounds good! I agree with you! No matter 43 or 53 is also good AMG! 63 is so strong, some people no need super power car in the life!
I THINK the same sound is reproduced because of the new electric turbo. It permits the car to holds it's RPM at a higher level and maintain those RPM levels as you are taking a sharp turn, etc. Hence the same constant delivered noise from the exhaust because the electric turbocharger is constantly being able to hold and or maintain that rev limiter.

If sound is all you want then you should cancel and buy a used 2019 C63s for the same amount of money.
Who cares that much about the sound? Driving experience way more important and i think its gets better as time continues
I wouldnât cancel it, the C43 looks amazing, the infotainment is the best you can get in that class & is a perfect daily driver đ
The compromise to losing the v8 sound, but gaining a much more refined and better performing car in every aspect is worth it in my opinion.

It's probably always the same sound because of the electric turbo charger. In the past I would just say this is fake noise but because the turbo charger is constantly spooling might create that super consistent crackle. IDK

Really nice interior and exterior... But the V8 will be missed... I think Mercedes has just missed a one life time opportunity to make the best C class and car of its segment of all time.
It's just a compromise we will have to accept as AMG fans. The new C43 is an improvement in every way possible, except the sound. I genuinely don't mind the speaker sound since it's live capture from the exhaust. Unlike BMW's pre-recording nonsense in the i8.
I don't think there's anything Merc can do with 1L less displacement and missing 2 cylinders.
Although if I'm completely honest, it really doesn't sound "that" bad for a turbo 4 pot. The new Civic Type R tho, now that's what I'd call awful.
Fully agree. The tinny exhaust note from Elantra N is NOT what I want in a 4 banger. The 4 cylinder in the CLA and a45 sounds AWESOME to me personally, so Iâm excited asf that I might be able to afford a c43 coming later next year.

Donât get me wrong, the new C43 AMG sounds amazing but if you ever had the chance to drive the old C43 with the AMG exhaust, this will totally disappoint you đ
Look, the GT4 RS is the best example of how you can still build an unbelievably good sounding car today. I know, it is not a gt4rs but, could they have done more if they would care? And here I must say, yes! How on earth is someone going to buy this car as an AMG?

I have a C43 with the AMG performance exhaust that I daily and I love it. I really like the interior of the new C43 and was hoping that maybe they can do something about the sounds in the new generation with just 4 cylinders. So far, it seems like the performance is a tiny bit better than the one I have but the sound is just not there. I do really like the new interior though, even though I have the digital dash in mine so it doesn't look old or anything. I've heard the CLA45 and that actually sounds pretty good. I'm not sure why the new C43 sounds like this. I'm still contemplating. I need to hear it in person when I test drive one.
Get the CLA45 still sounds nice with a night club of an interior

I too have a 2019 C43 with performance exhaust. ButâŠmy next car will be an M340i x drive. The B58 is just so much better and so is the ZF 8 speed transmission. Forget fancy lights and digital display! Plus M340i x drive is thousands less.
I have a â22 GLC 43 with the exhaust and I agree with you completely. The sound is incredible. You can even hear the turbo with the window open.
That sound would annoy me if I were to drive it everyday

It's sounds good, thats my opinion. It's not the most important thing the sound of a car. Important are the inside, the engine, driving comfort and the quality of all them.

How many years does Mercedes guarantee the screens or lighting won't burn out? Will it last 5-6 years? Will there be replacement parts available in 7-9+ years?
Most people who have this car won't be owning it for more than 4 years, it's a nice lease car

Was it not possible to build a 6 cylinder with 2 liters, if they want immediately a 2 liter engine? Or a 2,9, 2,5 with 4 (or 5) cylinder?

Bro, the 4MATICs are pretty cool, but I personally work for Mercedes as a mechanic, and it is extremely difficult to repair. Not impossible, but difficult.

Just picked up a 2020 C43 as a daily driver. Why? The sound. It wonât be long before every car sounds like a vacuum cleaner or worse a night in solitary confinement. Gotta get it while the gettinâ is good.

Itâs a shame they dropped the amazing sounding V6. However, the car is improved in every way: dynamically, exterior and interior, and tech-wise. Tbh, it doesnât sound THAT bad. Will this have an AMG Performance Exhaust option?
Actually the interior is very tacky, no one likes the iPad cluster and the glare it brings. The ambient lighting is stupid and placing the iPad center console is also very Tesla like. Pretty dumb imo.

A sports car is a visceral experience for all the senses. Car companies have a lot of work to do as they switch to these hybrid and electric drivetrains in the future because these current models donât do it with the sound.
Help .. torn between choosing between the CLA45S & 2022 C43 everything about this car making sense tech etc but I canât get over the sound of the new C43 or lack of to be more specific any kinda exhaust mod information ?? Downpipe etc ? For the C43 would be appreciated to give it that more aggressive AMG sound we all know and love that the CLA45s has that this car should have come with as they share the the same engine Its the only thing missing from this car !!

I am still deciding whether to get the LCI M340i or this W206 C43. I know everyone says "there is no replacement for displacement". But this new C43 is so much more interesting (if I put the driving experience aside) than the M340i except for the engine (B58 is just marvelous...and the SOUND!!). Come on guys....help me choose pleaseeeeeeeeeee
If youâre worried about the Interior, canât go wrong w the C43. Itâs gorgeous. Iâm a BMW guy but regardless what u get itâs not like youâre compromising much. Both cars are beautiful from the outside. M340 is a better platform for speed if thatâs what u want. But the C43 is not slow. The C43 interior is obviously the more beautiful interior but the M340 is a luxury car so the interior isnât bad. All i need is some interior lighting and a fast beautiful car. M340 All the way for me but I dont think you could go wrong either way. I got a 335 rn but Iâm saving for an M2 Competition soon!

If you're a driver then you know your answer. Build quality is better in BMWs too. Merc have a better looking int design.
