Even with the small chips it holds an edge better than anything else ive used. The silly tr65 is the only knife thats kept up with my kukri and yep lost the scales in about 4 days. It doesn't hold a super sharp edge either. Kukri all day for me. Gotta be full tang for me. Im guessing g10 is going to be the strongest scale upgrade. The rat tang handle has epoxy as the full tangs don't so i haven't tried the traditional handles on the kukri
