Even in death, John McCain showed us again how decent he was by asking to be eulogizing by the two men he lost to. RIP McCain.
Gracious man.
An American…Bush2, Clinton, Bush41, McCain(even in losing a couple chances to be POTUS), Obama..They tried to do right for their nation not themselves. They knew the office was bigger than one man and respected it’s traditions and hand power to each other with simple notes in the Oval Office desk to their successor. CIVILITY and losing that ego and pride to admit some things in their Presidencies were wrong. But were done for American and the idea that freedom should be for ALL OF MANKIND.
Miss men who loved their nation over their office knowing the most they could be there for was 8 years and their success after their 8 years in the Sun as well as their failures would forever be looked at by the picklocks of biographers.
And didn't invite 45, Bah-hahahahha
“He was courageous, with a courage that frightened his captors, and inspired his countrymen “
Well said Mr. President
Fifteen years ago I had no idea that I would end up respecting and liking George W. Bush as well as i do now.
YOU GOTTEN DUMBER WITH AGE
I still hate him. He's easily one of the dumbest guys to ever sit in the Oval Office.
History will be kinder to him in the long run as each Presidents term is eventually defined.
I think he's the 2nd dumbest now.
🍗🍗🍗
I can’t believe how divided we’ve become. After watching Joe Biden, Obama and George Bush, three politicians with polar opposite positions come together and speak about how great McCain was for his bipartisanship and never allowing identity politics to take him over. All I see in the comments is bashing and exactly what each speaker was trying to warn us of. I finished watching all of the speakers, both Democrats and Republicans inspired. The comments of the people, not so much.
It's called the dumbing down of America. I think of these bashers as lost souls, left behind by society, full of hate and resentment. It's unfortunate but every country has its basket of deplorables.
Ryan Vasquez and Jim Brew well said. Kudos to both of you.
The difference was an illusion. All globalist controlled puppets.
@@barbcarter5878 sad but true.
Barb Carter precisely. Wish more people actually knew that
In honor of John McCain, I am admitting my errors in misjudging the character of George W Bush. With benefit of hindsight, I can see that he is far more introspective, and decent than I gave him credit for. As a progressive, I cannot say that I agree with his politics, but I can admit that he meant well for America & is far more admirable a leader than I gave him credit for, especially compared to the present stain on our great country.
That's very kind and it takes a lot to retrace or go back on a stance we've had once.
You are demonstrating the very thing that most people are lacking, and what has led us to the place we're in.
The ability to listen, to be open-minded, to even be wrong. Everyone is so partisan now that they view everything through the lens of a political party.
I'm 38, I registered to vote 20 years ago as an Independent. I firmly believe that the echo chamber everyone chooses to dwell in, combined with partisanship and the inability to be wrong is why we are in the society that we're in.
Kudos to you. I wish everyone would stop sipping the Koolaid, be it red or blue, let go of their egos and start thinking for themselves instead of being told what to think.
You are 100 percent saying what I have been thinking. Totally agree
I feel the same way. He’s one of my favorite people.
Well US had some bad presidents like Bush, Clinton... their images were tarnished and had the worst performance... until Trump came and blurred all those presidents' bad reputation.
I'm not american, I'm not right-wing but I always see Bush II as a decent guy. Always.
Who knew he'd be giving another eulogy a quarter year later for his dad :'(
And it is so sad watching him give that eulogy. I have a lot of respect for President Bush.
I cried when he broke up. Any son who loses his Dad at ANY AGE will hurt for the rest of their lives here hoping to meet them on the other side. I related, but as a Dad and a Man really it hit me. Every little boy looks up to their Dad at any age. Even when life is draining from them you feel like an orphan.
I remember sitting in front of the television with my mother and father having just watched George W. bush defeat then Senator John Kerry and how angry and disappointed i was. But over the years of bush's presidency i never felt the lashing of his presidency nor did i ever feel like the country was divided or the extreme hate, bigotry and separation of country as i feel now. Looking back at the past and now watching George W. bush deliver an amazing speech/eulogy for a great senator, i realize how much respect i have for this man and how much of the character and genuine spirit this country was moved by. I really enjoyed listening to all the speeches. This is the old kind of politics i was raised on. Sadly today this is not so. A president that cant even form one inspiring speech or sentence. Were better than this!
Keep hate out of a funeral! Watching all the former Presidents speak, makes me miss the Greatness of them, irrespective of the party.
Unfortunately, there are people out there, who only have hate in their souls.
R I P John McCain . America the country , American people first , party's second .
Y'all do realize that Bush ruined our economy. Not only did he ruin it so WE ALL suffered, he DIDN'T suffer a bit. And you go on about his greatness? He started false wars in the middle east which Obama continued. Now the middle east is completely destabilized. Ask those living in the Middle East about Their greatness. Oh that's right, they are all refugees living in the EU. Ask the EU about their greatness!

I never thought I'd miss Bush but here we are. Strange times we live in.
COMPARED TO SATAN IN WH BUSH LOOKS LIKE A SAINT NOW
I knew I'd miss him in his second term, when he grew a bit, and some of the ideology wore off.
I knew I'd really miss him when Palin was my first pick for President's running mate. That was a sign of things to come.
I recall seeing a billboard after Obama was elected. It had a photo of Bush with the caption, "Do you miss me, yet?" I thought, "Seriously?" Little did we know, that sign would eventually have a clear meaning.
I was just thinking the same thing when I saw your comment.
Amen
Great men who honored a great man and friend. A man who gave his life to serve his country. Thank you Obama. Bush. Biden.
A wonderful eulogy, from a President I didn't vote for, reminding us that there's more uniting us than dividing us. That love of our country & decency are bipartisan. That vitriol and divisiveness *must* stop, for all our sake's.
*_"The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again, because she was always great"_* -Meghan McCain
Umm. You are quoting divisive comments while praising non divisiveness.

This is the America I miss.... the idea of uniting in times of need, putting our differences aside so we could unite as a front.
If Trump was invited to do a eulogy for McCain, he would have made it entirely about himself.
Trump didn't go because McCain was a traitor, look it up, look who he made deals with.
brmillgr stfu McCain is a true American hero.
@@brmillgr Trump didn't go because McCain specifically banned him and his family from attending his funeral, let alone speak at it. Alex is right - Trump would have made the speech entirely about himself, like he always does, and McCain knew this. Doesn't it speak volumes that a devoted Republican, like John, asked his greatest rival to speak at his funeral, but not the president that came from the same party?
@@c-seoul hes a war criminal, trump called him on it then they "banned" him from a funeral he wasnt going to attend regardless. Cool story though.
@@brmillgr McCain isn't and wasn't a war criminal. Nor was he a traitor. He was a hero that stayed behind in Vietnam when he had the opportunity to leave so his men wouldn't be left behind to die and be tortured. Trump didn't even serve and got out of it for a bs medical reason with help from his daddy.
Beautiful speeches of respect and honest from the former president. #RIPJohnMcCain
Yeah I love his speech, and also he's a good responsible leader, how did you enjoy his leadership reign, and how're you doing today..?
I am a liberal democrat, but I so much respect George W. Bush! I believe his heart and soul was always and continues to be dedicated to the United States of America and to the soldiers who have served and continue to our country!
And, I want to also note that I voted for John McCain in Tennessee's primary because if a Republican was going to win the primary I thought he would have been the best man for the job despite Sara Palin.
mcain is war criminal henry kessinger is a war criminal bush is a war criminal obama is war criminal , you support war criminals !?
Yeah I respect him too, how're you doing today Jennifer..?
@@jenniferthompson7118 yes I agree with you Jennifer, how're you doing today..?
After the path we have taken since his time in office, he (Bush) looks and sounds like a U.S. President is supposed to. During his time in office, though, you would never hear me say that then. We honor our war veterans, especially those who were also P.O.W.s. as John McCain was.
Wow, this was a genuinely powerful speech. RIP senator McCain.
May he rest in peace. I love him and his country loves him.
What an amazing speech.
My goodness GW has become very eloquent since he left the White House.
Lol
That whole Southern hayseed voice was just an act to harvest the support of red State voters......It worked. No need for it now.
Yes, I agree. Public speaking was never his best quality. Of course, compared to Trump, everyone appears eloquent.
Presidents and former Presidents have speech writers.
The weird thing is, you should hear speeches from when he was governor of texas. He was very eloquent then as well. It's like he dumbed it down for the presidency...
I've always loved George W. Bush...I haven't always agreed with him, but I've loved him and because I knew his history, watched the debates he won to become governor of Texas, and saw the diversity of his cabinet as president, I never let the media sway me into believing he was a stupid, evil man (PLEASE KNOW, I DIDN'T VOTE FOR HIM, AND I DID NOT SUPPORT A MAJORITY OF HIS PRESIDENCY-I'm making a point).
He is a good man, a smart man, an artistic, funny guy and he was villainized outside of just his politics. The same was done to Obama, although he remained much more favorable in public opinion.
The biased news reports, the slanderous accusations with no merit, the partisan vitriol is something we all actually have control of.
It doesn't need to be Democrat vs Republican; in a democracy, it SHOULDN'T be.
I'm glad that people have slowly recognized W for who he is. Obama and W are both very likable, charismatic men and there is no reason for hatred against either of them, no matter where your politics are.
Stop basing your vote and you opinion on political parties. It's evil, it's what is wrong with this country.
I registered to vote 20 years ago when I turned 18, and I registered as an Independent. Even in 1998 I knew better than these shenanigans.
Always good to see former presidents
speak good about senator McCain..
I remember the night of Sept 11, 2001. The speech President Bush gave from the Oval Office i watched it live, riveting yet calm by sending a message to the world that America is broken but not her foundation.
John McCain RIP. Thank you President Bush love you, and your family, God bless you all God bless America.
As a democrat I cannot give more respect to that man. I just hope a democrat feels the same way about one of our politicians one day.
I think all of the speakers who actually come from diverse backgrounds spoke highly of the Senator John McCain. This is urging us all worldwide that in all of our diversities, we should think and speak right.
Underrated man and president. Love you G Dubbs
Underrated man, overrated president.
As much as I wasn't on board with George W Bush's presidency, he seems like a friendly guy.
also watching the Obama time at the podium, when he made a joke everyone liked, and George jr. was laughing while leaning toward Michelle Obama, everyone lighthearted at such a time and leaving all difference behind. Watching that , and this, makes me beyond nostalgic for when people had class. I sure miss that.
God Speed Senator McCain, you were a perfect example of what an honorable and Patriotic man with human decency looks like!!! Your legacy will live on forever!! RIP Sir...We Love You....💕🇺🇸💕🇺🇸💕🇺🇸💕
What a beautiful tribute to a man who faught to preserve the American Ideal, Senator John McCain. RIP.

The eulogies were given with dignity! Dignity is something that Trump will never possess.
NEWS ALERT: Jeb Bush LOST and Trump won! The people voted overwhelmingly for Trump. That's why he has 90% support from Republicans.
Larry Linn Exactly...and we miss it.
And something that America will never possess again.
You spoil the last wishes of a great man by bringing Tr?!# into this conversation. Please Show the same respect & dignity you claim to admire.
Unfortunately Larry, no truth was spoken. Only lies and cover ups of his seriously tarnished service record. The truth will come out about him. And completely discredit every one who spoke at the eulogy.
Who would have believed we would live in a time when Bush would look good?
David D I would have
We don't. We live in a time when Democrat IQs have dropped sharply.
His words are like water in the Middle of the Desert...

Why unequal? Why? Why?
Your speech touched me in innumerable ways, thank you very much for posting this,
John will be raised back up to life again, I know this for absolute certainty.....

Now that's a eulogy.
Mr Bush and Mr Obama were wonderful in praise of John McCain. Trump! Eat your heart out
This is the UNITED States!..United is the key word....the division we have now is despicable. Much respect to Bush, Obama and Clinton.
Agustin Marurino thanks to the democrats that still can't accept election results two years later..👏🏻👏🏻
Bush, Obama and Clinton: The worst of the worst.

McCain was the last decent and honest politician of our times. May God rest his soul.
This man is a good man. Regardless of how he and his administration handled Iraq. God bless those who died. We will never forget you. Also thank your McCain for your service. We will never forget you.
Frankly, I'd give anything to have even this man back as president.
Doobernator your pathetic for not respecting freedom of speech, much like the current president who calls anyone who critises him a 'loser'
He did a lot of bipartisan things in his presidency, believe it or not.
I would vote for Trump, rather than voting for Bush. Killed millions of innocent people in the middle East for no reason.
Hard same. I hated him with a passion when he was president, but now it's a horrifying realization how good we had it back then. The guy bungled every speech and wasn't the brightest, but he was a man of basic decency and character. He took his job seriously instead of golfing and tweeting all day. He believed in democracy and the ideals of our founding fathers. He had the best interests of the country at heart (whether his approaches were misguided or not). He actually gave a f*ck about the outcome of the country instead of just using the title of President as a mere notch on a disgusting narcissist's belt. You would think those things would be basic requirements for a president, not even worth mentioning... but sadly, today it seems they're not.
But he is responsible for 911. He is directly responsible for it I am convinced that he may have even Played a part in it.
I love all people and the truth be told that is the only thing that is going to Unite This Country...We have to understand that we all come from different walks of life....To the McCain family and friends may the love of God be with y'all....R.I.P Senator John McCain may God bless your soul....
Pearl Tippins the truth has yet to be revealed
He looks more and more like his father each time he is on tv
This is a man who allowed for some abhorrent policy, but he really did do it from a place of respect for pur nation and a belief he was doing the right thing. I despise George's administration but he isn't a bad person. End of story
Beautiful eulogy.
No person is perfect...we all make mistakes...the good ones make amends, McCain leaves a legacy of respect across party lines for civilized people ... trump will live in infamy with his lies and hate ....and his bone spurs!
The Truth is hard to hear for some. Trump is one of the greatest Presidents in the history of the world!
You got it backwards.
Summer Raines no sir you have it backwards, you let that man tear this country apart within his first 6 months and did nothing about if if you really cared about “Amerikkka” you would have opened your eyes instead of sitting quite. You ruined the country.

Rhaspun name one!
That was a wonderful and movibg eulogy President Bush great respect and admiration for a great and honorable man Senator John McCain, you will be missed God bless your family at this heartbreaking time Senator McCain and our country. God bless Presidents Bush, Clinton, Obama, and Carter as well as H W Bush and their families all great men. Men with honor and integrity.
You know it is a scary time when you wish it was the early 2000s and Bush Jr was still president.
What has become of us ?
McCain continues to be ever thoughtful, and considerate ...
McCain knows what it takes. To be better, to be worthy, for the good of America.
Any a petty low life or lesser is not eligible for the privilege to give the utmost honour. Not worthy to be invited.
I love be American citizen and I really believe we have good people in our government who will be wise and loyal 🙌🏻🙌🏻♥️♥️♥️
And the Big Boy J McCain took his glorious exit in style, with George & Barack gives their Eulogy!
America lost a moral compass. But we shall move on & forward. Not back to a perceived time of greatness, but with eyes to tomorrow, mindful that as a still young nation we can only strive to be even better than we currently are. To learn from our past mistakes, to resolve inequities- wherever they are found. An, to do so with an eloquence of leadership missing from today. We need leaders who inspire, not criticize. Leaders that recognize that we are only as good as how we treat our weakest citizen. And a willingness to sacrifice what we want- for a future arriving at what we need. In the end, we are a sum of our parts. A house divided will not stand, as observed by Lincoln. Let us trade partisanship for true citizenship, and pull together as one.
Your children- and theirs- will thank you for it. Set the example as if it all depends on you. It does.
Spoken like a true American.
WOW..Just wow…That was beautiful..
Why downvote the speech video? If you don't like his speech write a better one and present it, if you don't like him just don't watch it.
I would make fun of you but your name is already insulting enough
Nothing wrong with anyone expressing their opinion.

Well said, Mr Bush.
Bush has gotten good at speeches.
The same country that elected Trump, ALSO elected Bush, Obama, and Biden. Irrespective of what we feel, our country is not hopeless. It is misguided and afraid and therefore irrationality breeds commonly. We need to learn from some of our past elected officials and realize we may differ in opinion, race, religion, etc but the ability to unite is our strongest defense, even against ourselves.
I’m glad this is over.

I can understand being asked to speak and wanting to do it for someone you've known for a very long time. To me that's all well and good. What gets me is McCain had what, 3 or 4 different funeral sessions? And isn't that president status?
We will survive the Trump era. All we have to do is vote, speak up and live by example when needed. The next President's primary goal must be to lead with dignity and promote unity. America deserves it, because she is Great, always has been!
