Underrated Sage. It’s an execute and post plant heavy map - lurks are sparse/late and post plant spam will be oppressive. She’s great for securing plants/defuses and stalling pushes. There are a good number of grim walls too for mixups.
Maybe in pro scene? Team comp 1: Neon, Chamber/DL, Breach, Sova, Harbor Team comp 2: Jett, Chamber/DL, Breach, Sova, Omen Team comp 3 (?!): Yoru, Omen, Harbor, Sova, Deadlock
As someone who plays both CS2 and Valorant, I see Abyss as the CS equivalent of Vertigo, a map that everybody hates but gives it a great opportunity for players to learn to get an edge over people that hate the map and don't want to learn it. That being said, this game desperately needs a map veto system for comp.
Pro play is prob gonna go breach sova harbor neon sage bc cove into sage wall guarantees defuse if enemy plays ppp (passive post-plant) which is kinda becoming the meta bc heretics sunset b (both of abyss' sites can easily use ppp)
As an astra main, I’m super excited for a map pool where I can play her on most maps (no icebox or bind) without being screamed at by my team for not picking omen
Now a days I would say KAY/O is only worth as a secondary initiator, I’ve solo initiator played him on every map for years now and it’s just not always worth with the lack of info on his knife , pair him with a sova to shut down all sites or skye to just flash the hell out of the site only way to go
vipers A ults are insane n might get patched but i feel like shes A just cause of how they cover 90% of the site incl walkway if you know the spot n its easy to make orb lineups for mid and b heaven... astra mb A too cause you can suck people off (the map)
Pro comp: Harbor - Sova - Breach - Gekko - Chamber No duelist needed, full util exec’s with wingman cove plant & defuse, similar to no duelist icebox. Could easily swap Gekko for Jett & Chamber for KJ but it’s worth a shot imo
Astra in B tier for something that has nothing to do with the map and how she as an agent works on it, and HARBOR in S tier controller?! He is so bad! L O L! Rest your arm, you're reaching too far! LOL!!!!!!
Bro harbor on this map is crazy. You put your walls in the jump places and people get slowed and fall to their deaths.
I never thought of that and now I'm tempted to play Harbor on this map

think of icebox how you can basically sit at all 3 entries (a, mid, b) and simply just hold it with your sniper
Viper is no doubt the best controller along with harbor on this map.
Viper solo isnt the best but with omen she can do crazy smokes althouh harbor can do the same but alone

I played a lot of comp matches but RNG didn't select abyss a single time.
It gets added to competitive next week after Episode 9 Act 1 starts, for now it's only in things like unrated and swiftplay
