    When patients are diagnosed with scoliosis, they are often given a shape of their curve, and usually, patients aren't sure what that means.
    To be diagnosed with scoliosis, certain parameters have to be met. You need to have an unnatural sideways curvature of the spine from the front with a rotational component that is 10 degrees or greater.
    Scoliosis can also be classified based on what conditions or variables are present in that patient, such as age, cause, severity, and location of scoliosis.
    The reason S curves are more complex is because as they become more symmetrical, the body compensates, and they are harder to reduce; the less symmetrical scoliosis, the easier it is to reduce. S-shaped curves tend to be more difficult since they tend to be more symmetrical. There are S-shaped curves, however, where one is more dominant than the other, which are easier to manage than two curves that are the same.
    To treat an S shape curve, you should see a doctor that has familiarity with addressing both curves, performing flexibility studies to determine which is dominant in stiffness.
    This is normally done by integrating multiple treatment disciplines and techniques to help impact the condition on all levels, such as chiropractic care, office therapy, customized exercises, and corrective bracing. Putting all these approaches into one clinic where one doctor oversees and coordinates every piece to give the best approach in a manner that when we take pre and post-x-rays, we can see results that occur.
    At the Scoliosis Reduction Center, we provide proactive, customized nonsurgical approaches to scoliosis to address not only S-shaped curves but C shape curves. The most important factor is having everything be coordinated in a way that you can see your spine improve, and your curves reduce, posture changes, as well as improvement of any other symptoms or signs you experience due to scoliosis.

    Did I miss something?
    Is the S-Curve viewed through the front of the body?
    Or is it viewed from the back?

    • @ScoliosisReductionCenter
      @ScoliosisReductionCenter  Před 9 měsíci

      When viewed from the front or back, a healthy spine should appear straight. However, if you have scoliosis, your spine will have an abnormal curvature when viewed from all angles. Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine curves to the side in an S- or C-shape. To find out more about our approach, kindly visit: www.scoliosisreductioncenter.com/treatment-approach.

      @@ScoliosisReductionCenter, unfortunately i live in Australia. No family left, i'm seeing an OT this morning, & go from there. I haven't had anyone see me for 30+ years. (Long story). Doesn't help when parents don't do anything & i didn't know much about Scoliosis or what would happen to me. I've sent an email. Hope to hear something back. 🙏
