  • Is the xTool S1 laser for you? Let's take a look at how you set up and use this craft laser. I am also comparing it to other lasers in the xTool line up as well as Glowforge machines. Use this guide to determine whether this laser is the one you need for your craft room. Laser crafting can be a great addition to your hobby or business but you need to find the right laser for your needs first! The xTool S1 may just be that laser!
    This laser was sent to me by xTool, however, all projects and opinions are my own.

    Thank you! Great info … noticed you had a little lady bug helping you to set up the cords - lol😊

      They are EVERYWHERE right now! I cannot tell you how many I shooed out of the shot! They are actually an Asian lady beetle and not a traditional lady bug. And a huge pain!!

    This information was very helpful. I appreciate the pros and cons and the comparisons. I am not ready to use a laser at this time but the information will help in the future and I think it is good to know for those that are ready. Thank you Angie. 🙂

    Air assist would help prevent the charring on the cut.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 3 měsíci

      Yep! I wanted to make this video with ZERO extra accessories however.

      Air assist should not be considered an extra accessory - it is part of what makes any laser work properly.

    Hey I was just wondering if you still planned on making some other videos on the S1 and if you had any ideas for good suppliers for engravable blanks?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před měsícem

      Yep! Video coming tomorrow actually using the S1. And I have another one in the works for engraving metal blanks.

      I have not tried it in this machine. You may have some issues as it is a diode laser. Maybe just get a small piece to try.

    The Machine turn on only if I connect to the pc?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Nope once you connect to your wifi you don't have to use the cord again.

    Technically, you selected each of your objects, not layers as both objects are on the same layer.

    Great laser machine, unfortunately it's not designed properly. The lid allows leak of toxic fumes. The fan is extremely weak. The hose doesn't have a support system and any wind may send the fumes back into your workplace.
    If you use it in an extremely well ventilated area and, preferably, in an open air workplace, you'd be fine.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 3 měsíci

      I didn't have any issues with the lid leaking. I did notice some issues around the window but that was fixed by using a towel to plug up the window space. After that, everything seemed fine. I am going to add the air filter to this to see what difference that will make.
