This has been an interesting hike to watch so far. It’s like a walk thru the back country roads with some detours through the woods. Reminds me of the back country in PA where I live.

I'm watching from Ashland, Oregon--home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival--so really enjoyed your Shakespeare reference.

Indian Lake is a nice little spot. Cross Plains is a great little town too!

Looks like you are getting in some productive days, should have had a couple days of quieter hiking once you got out of Verona. Hope the bugs are staying away, thanks for sharing.

August in Wisconsin is full of greenery, flowers and blue skies. Thanks for sharing this :)

I'm surprised to see someone filming a thru hike of this trail. I love the IAT but it's so much road walking. Hopefully now that it's a recognized national scenic trail the IATA can get some funding/help from NPS to build more trails

The berries at 18:45 are Highbush Cranberries. They're not poisonous but not really edible either. They are too bitter even for the birds until they have been frozen and thawed multiple times. They're an important source of springtime food for some species. Besides the attractive berries which last throughout the winter, they also have pretty flowers in the springtime. I have planted several of this native species in my own backyard.

FYI - trivia for today: the NOER Turf Grass Facility that you hiked past in Verona is part of the UW-Madison Plant Pathology Dept - one of the departments I worked in when I worked at the University prior to my retirement. 🙂

It has to be the first time your hike went thru a golf course. Great trail magic and getting new shoes. Nice weather to hike in. Thanks for sharing. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!! 🐄🐄🐄

Do you think you could have biked most or all of the trail so far? Not sure if bikes are allowed on the IAT or not.

I definitely saw a lot of “no bikes allowed” signs on the segments but all the connector routes could easily be biked.

Too much road for my taste.
