Every house on my street has at bare minimum 10 firearms per household and I know every single one of them. We all know the local terrain better than anyone, wilderness and all which would be a massive advantage against an invading force. Not to mention we source and produce most our own food.. no matter where you are self reliance is a priceless skill to possess. Asheville here. It's gone to Hell in a hand basket, and spreading it's tentacles into Black Mountain, Hendersonville, and Marshall, with eyes on Haywood & McDowell. As a "sanctuary city" I think Asheville is helping pave the way for sleeper cells to form. Maybe I'm paranoid, but from what I've seen these past few years, maybe not. I moved to Mills River only to discover what's called the Asheville Regional Housing Agreement. It gives Asheville powers to dictate new housing developments in Madison, Henderson, and Transylvania counties. They formed a board with Asheville holding 6 of 12 seats. These more conservative counties have been sold out in order to catch Asheville/Buncombe Co.'s overflow. People flock to Asheville because it is a sanctuary city & county with a sanctuary sheriff, and rolls out the red carpet for homeless junkies - the majority of which are from nowhere near NC. Asheville can't fart without hiring a consultant from San Francisco telling them how. Because San Fran Cisco has done such a fabulous job themselves (sarc). No other ethnic group in the US are as loyal to this country as are native Americans. Had it not been for the Navaho code talkers in WW2, things might not have gone so well. The treatment of native Americans in the beginning of this country was a dark blotch on our history. However, as pioneers moved west intermarriage of native American females with German and English settlers became common. That is where my g.g. granny entered my family. There are a lot of OEF and OIF vets out there with far greater war experiences than Vietnam vets ever had. Because most of us had between 1-8 deployments in to war zones with 2-3 as the average, we are far more effective war fighters of those of us that exist versus a Vietnam vet. I’m on the older side of that group at 51, but there are many still around in their early 30s. We all are armed or know where to get it and arm up. Vietnam was an occupation and occupations never work. We lost for the same reason the British lost all their territory. Unless you are prepared to commit an act of genocide not seen since the 1490's, then you will not win an occupation.
The war on drugs was not an actual war as much as it was a way to disenfranchise black communities. So, the objectives for that "war" were definitely met. The unforeseen consequences, now, being that we can't stop the money train behind the drugs, and now they're invading all poor rural and inner city communities, with all ethnicities and races involved.
Korea wasn't a total loss, merely a stalemate that is technically still at war but, for the most part, active hostilities have stopped. And South Korea has a strong democratic government.
The war on terror was an idiotic idea to start with. Terrorism is an idea that is carried out through hostile and violent acts. To wage war on an idea with no clear enemies will forever and always be the biggest blunder the US ever made after 9/11. A blunder that lasted 20+ years. But on the same token, they couldn't wage war against a country when the act was committed by a terror organization. So, it was forever and always going to be an unwinnable war. Waging war on terrorism is like waging war on freedom. It just doesn't work. The objectives shifted once they got there and the entire region was set ablaze, creating avenues for even more violence and terrorism to take hold.
America's problem is it's hubris. It thinks it can win anything with enough guns and force. Most of the time it fails.
However, none of these wars were fought on American soil. If an invasion occurred here, the enemy would find themselves quickly swarmed, outgunned, out-manned, in hostile terrain sandwiched between mountain ranges that run north/south with no way out. American citizens are hungry for war and our military leaders would waste no time making sure it's populous was well trained, guarded, and equipped with the tools it needs to not just survive, but thrive.

Fighting on our own turf against and enemy that is not familiar with our geography would be suicide. There is also our neighbor to the North, Canada. Most civilians do not realize that running from Massachusetts to Florida is The Intra Coastal Waterway (ICW), a series of rivers and lakes tied together that enables shipping of barges or sea vessels (with an 8' draft or less) capable of leaving Maine and arriving in Miami a week later all without exposing itself to most of the Atlantic waters~ minimizing the possibility of being sunk by enemy subs. It also works to lock any amphibious landings by an enemy into controllable areas, essentially working as a second east coast; in order for invaders to move inland they would have to basically conduct a second amphibious assault, and I posit they wouldn't have time before we'd be able to counter any attack.

Back in 1928, someone in the US gov't asked, "How long would it take to transport a battallion from New York to California?" so the Secretary of War ordered a battalion to mobilize and go across the country, just to see. It took months because they kept getting stuck in the mud on the mostly dirt roads in rural areas. They had to get local farmers with their mules and horses to help the Army's mules and horses to pull trucks out. Sometimes it took a whole day to go half a mile. So they decided the US needed a highway system. Now the highway system helps move commercial traffic and recreational traffic as well as day to day traffic, which helped boost the US economy across the board.
Where I live, half the kids are on a skeet shooting team. If anyone was to be stupid enough to go Red Dawn with paratroopers, the shotgun coaches would be like, "Pull!" :) The average US citizen is a better shot than the average trained soldier or cop because they shoot for fun instead of shooting because their job requires it and they're paying for their own ammo so they make the shots count.

You are grossly over estimating their abilities. I was in the Marines for 8 years, I assure you the average Marine will out shoot the average American every day of the week. Shooting clay targets with shotguns is a great starting point. But hitting targets at 300 and 500 yards with iron sites is a completely different level of skill. Too, they are being offered a chance for free military training and honorary citizenship if they join the military-- without any declaration of loyalty to the Constitution, the Flag, our laws or moral codes. Working at a range, I have unlimited access to used brass. I’m also a a veteran of being an officer in the US Army and the US Air Force. So, lots of free training there. Outsiders think that we argue with Canada and Mexico. But the fact is that if either of them get attacked, we will be there in an instant.

In 2005 I went camping in New Mexico in the desert. I woke up one morning and was getting ready to go into town to get supplies when i suddenly heard a helicopter. The sky was blue and cloudless but the copter came and hovered directly over my truck (my dog went crazy). But you could not see any helicopter at all! I panicked for a few seconds until I remembered reading about the military experimenting with cloaking technology. Slowly, this “invisible” helicopter flew off in another direction-but you could still only see clear blue skies. That weekend I returned to Houston & on the front page of the Houston Chronicle was an article that Sunday about the use of military cloaking devices (front page article). This brief encounter made me more proud than ever before to be a part of this great country! ❤

As a American and Army Combat veteran, I can tell u that if it came down to it not only the vets, but also civilians would get involved. Because we may be divided right now, but we are a family and can fight amongst ourselves, but we won't stand anyone else messing with family. That is facts. No-one can match Americans will to fight and win at any cost.

That’s probably why they want to drown out the American heart by flooding it with illegals. Ones that didn’t have to study for their citizenship. Ones that don’t have to pledge allegiance to our country. They just came for the free stuff, or sent by the government of another country.

There are roughly 15 million fighting age veterans who spent the last 20+ years fighting and learning non conventional warfare, even without our active military any invader would pay 10 fold in blood.

As an American I’d like to also add a bit on the gun culture here. Not only is it common to have guns. It is common to have multiple guns sometimes on you all the time like a rifle in the truck and a pistol on your hip. The amount of people that are heavily armed at all times is exponential.

That pipeline was not shut down by cyber attacks for 5 days. The cyber attack did shut down the pipeline but they recovered from the attack within a few hours. The pipeline was left shut down on purpose as they fixed the vulnerability to make sure that it couldn't be shut down the same way. Reserve fuel was used to make up for the loss of the pipeline and there was no disruption in supply. The reason why stores were running out of fuel is because of panic buying.

I had to drive from Carolina beach to saintlouis the day after it shut down. It created a panic and let me tell you I got home on a prayer. I was coming back after my grandfathers funeral and knew nothing of what was happening. When I was getting gas i was pumping damn near bottom of the tanks and said fuck this I’ll get fuel later……. The maps came out brother. Where the best highways less effected as well as calling people in different states etc. 3/4 tank of gas and 1k miles in between. That was a fucking adventure man

I have no idea where this narrator got his stats on civilian gun ownership but the FBI estimates that American citizens own more legal firearms than we have citizens, approximately over 400 million. This doesnt include firearms owned by criminals since they steal their stuff and report none of it. The estimate of 120.5 million might be the number of legally registered gun owners, not their weapons.

The video failed to mention the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mtn ranges which are more formidable than the Rockies and east coast mtn ranges. Very few passes, creating natural choke points

No doubt! In Washington state you only have 3 options for getting over the Cascades. The only real hole in the range is the Columbia River Gorge.

Just because I'm from California doesn't mean I don't have a shit load of guns, and I've been up-and-down Sierra Nevada's My entire life, from the farthest South to the farthest North. People always sleep on California, but they forget, "we are legion."

On top of that, we literally have such a diversity of area in Washington state. We have the coasts, rainforests, deserts, etc. tons of deep nasty places and terrain that would be a logistical nightmare and thats just 1 state! We have multiple military installations across the state! While our government has gone very liberal/anti gun, a lot of us are still very well armed and we practice for hunting and compete in shooting comps.

The armed civilian population would thwart any invading party. I’ve seen videos of wild boar hunters riding around fields with machine guns and nvgs, just imagine the joy they, as well as every other gun owner in the US, would have if told they had to defend their nation no questions asked

And, in the south, where about every other adult male is a hunter and owns a scoped deer rifle, or just likes to shoot, an invading army would get sniped to death.
