Those commentators were so bias freaking out when Chavez grazes Silva and not saying anything when Silva lands then being "surprised" about the judges decision
yeah i noticed near the beginning there's a sequence where silva is backed into the corner and dodges a headshot and then blocks a shot to the body and the announcers are freaking out like they both landed, but if you watch the whole fight they come around and start saying how silva is winning. the one announcer said he scored it 5-3 for silva (although it was realistically more of a 6-2 imo)
In Boxing terms "awkward" means just that. Someone with awkward footwork can be described as fury, Naseem, Ali, floyd. If you are fighting a boxer and he is awkward it is that his opponents are having an awkward time dealing with it. An awkward boxer is defined one who it usually: moving around, slipping punches, using angles, landing shots/countering from awkward angles, making it tricky to catch him, close distance etc. It is usually used when the opponent cannot find his rhythm with said boxer, he will be describing him as awkward style. Sometimes you will see boxers with a style where they are sticking their arms very wide or forward/high. This is also awkward style
the difference in this fight is that anderson completely got into his rhythm. every time he puts weight on the back foot or moves his torso back, silva penetrates and pushes him off balance. his rhythm is a predictable 1-2-1-2 pendulum like motion. you can see it almost every time silva lands a significant strike, its pushing him back while cesar has his weight on the back foot. such brilliance
Doesn't matter if Silva is done most fights in mma. He have few pro fights in boxing too and he won cause he landed 400 punches not cause 1 is boxer and other is most know as mma fighter. Silva won cause he was better with 150 more punches landed.
