That’s not a fish tank, that’s one of those weird shaped bins you put your school supplies in 😭😭
Facts
W comment
Exactly what I was thinking!
It for some odd reason makes me think of like a little tub my mum would buy me to put my robo fish toy in so I’d stop putting them in the sink-
@@theguinealabz NOOOO, BECAUSE YOURE SO RIGHTTT 😭
I literally have plastic food containers bigger than that ‘fish tank’! I can’t believe someone would buy that.
You know it’s a bad “tank” when you own Tupperware containers bigger than it.
An old friend had this fake fish lamp- basically a tube shaped lamp, with fish printed on a layer of laminated paper (I think) going around it, and a plastic cover over the whole thing. When the lamp was turned on the paper would rotate and made the fish ‘swim’. super cute and useful, no maintenance ‘fish’
Hh my god, that brough me so many memories, i had the same lamp! I even bought some plastic fish meant as aquarium decoration from petstore to put there. When i was old enough to actually take care of real animals i got my first aquarium 😄
Yes no real fish
The fact that it's advertised as a spider enclosure also. A tarantula would easily take up that whole thing and would have zero room to move and burrow. There's barely even be any room to put substrate. That would just stress out and aggravate the spider, and if it were to fall on its back it would not be able to get itself upright and it would die~
Could work as a temporary enclosure while it's a little baby I guess? Also I think some tarantulas can be pretty small like only 1-2 inches, still probably way way too small tho
Its fine for a baby spider but yes otherwise it is super bad
Maybe jumping spider or some tiny insect
@@goddamnmagagenttorture2996 honestly I wouldn't even put a pill bug in there
@@goddamnmagagenttorture2996 Jumping spiders are too smart for that. They'll probably get bored of the enclosure fast
Even the toy fish looked depressed in that thing
Looked ready to hop on out of there
I don’t want to imagine that there’s people who bought that “fish tank” and put actual fishes in there 💀
Fr
"why did my fish die after 24h of buying it?" like bro💀
fr one fish poop would be an atomic bomb in there 💀
bro even the TOY FISH looks miserable in that plastic torture chamber
My first thought was ‘Perfect for moss balls!’
I can kinda imagine it being used for baby morning geckos? Baby morning geckos are tiny and are usually kept in large jars until they get old enough for a proper enclosure. Otherwise it’s hard to monitor them and can be difficult for them to find their food.
If it’s for spiders then I know baby tarantulas need pretty small enclosures, but those normally use plastic cups cause it’s easier to regulate humidity.
Could be fine for springtails or isopods…
"Don't look at living things as a decoration" Exactly. Thank you. This type of thing really bothers me too. Glad you are spreading awareness to it.
Yeah that's way less than a gallon. A gallon is 128 ounces, or sixteen cups, or the equivalent of like 10 1/2 average soda cans (yes, Americans will measure in anything besides metric, lol.) That thing might be half a gallon, maybe.
More like a quarter gallon 😬
@@raye4880 yeah, that'd be closer to my guess too.
@@raye4880 yeah, I bet I couldn’t even fit my fist in it ☠️
The little Lego tank literally looks like one of those little for real pets cages you would get. I have a 5 gallon tank with a dumbo betta and two little shrimp buddies and a 65 gallon as well. But she's very true, a 5 gallon tank is a lot more to maintain even for one beta. I have live plants so there's a lot to keep up with. I can't imagine how dirty that tank would get within a week.
That container would be cute.. for toys, or as decoration with some pebbles in there, maybe a fake plant or two. That's pretty much about it
Some of the tanks would be perfect for brine shrimp or mini ecosystems .
I ordered my burb plushie 🎉🎉🎉
so lucky!!
Hi Soda i love your videos! they're very informational, my brother's dad has a betta fish that he keeps in a fish bowl and I've tried to tell him in the most polite way some of the info I've learned here but he didn't listen and said he changes the water every day
If he doesn’t listen to the polite truth, then you need to be blunt. You need to tell him the facts that there’s not enough room, and everywhere the fish looks it hurts, like living with a constant migraine. Tell him straight up that it is animal abuse. If he doesn’t listen then, I don’t know what to tell you.
Show him some of soda's videos were she talks about the subject, for example: Why Are Fish Bowls So Bad?
@@camponotusinflatus9920 i'll let him know next time i see him
"He's so happy!" killed me 😂
Do you know what's suitable for that tank?
(hint: it's not a fish)
Isopods!
Might fit some feeder bugs, but no way a small reptile!
This would be sort of cute for a large springtail colony if I'm being honest...
They must be small
@@nerdieeditz8044 Depends. The springtails here are the size of a pinhead lol
That little box could be used as a fake fishtank. Put in some fake plants and fish and put in some resin and you got a cute little decorpiece. You could put some lights on the back too.
fr i acually want to buy some slighty larger versions of this for micro aquascapes, no animals though (unless i can find some tiny shrimp or snails)
I use a ten gallon for my slugs. SLUGS
They use all of their space, love avocados, and enjoy climbing up and down the sides for no reason other than to climb up and down
You might be able to keep spider mites in there, that’s about it
If I had to guess I'd say that tank is MAYBE a quart, which is 0.25 gallons or slightly less than 0.95 liters
When soda took out that mecanical fish i remembered that i bought the same fish for my cousin and he put it on the pool and the mecanical fish stopped swimming, and when you took it out, the fish will swim again
I honestly love those fish tanks!! They are perfect for micro aqua scapes (obviously with no animals except really small snails! You know the kind you always get on your live plants from the pet store even though you don't want them!).
Over here in Australia I actually saw a stall with the lego style fish tank in the middle of my local shopping centre. With fish in them and showing people how to feed them with food dipped on a toothpick. It was the cruellest public thing I've ever witnessed and it's fair to say they never came back. (Probs reported to our RSPCA)
I find it hilarious people buy fish as “decorations” when that’s literally just a plant, a decoration you take care of! I may be biased, but watching a plant grow is more entertaining then watching a sad little fish die in a tiny tank lol
That container would be a super cute display case for rocks or toys, it could be used to make a really cool Littlest Pet Shop terrarium of sorts! But nooooo it’s marketed as a “fish tank”
those would be super cute to put plants in. like a little terrarium. or you can put brineshrimp in
I think the pickle jar I have for brine shrimp is bigger.
Hi Soda! This isn't related to the video but could you maybe check out Family of Nomads? They are a family living in a RV and they are treating they're pet rats horribly.
I just got one of those Aqua-ponic fish tanks with a plant on top thingy's. I had it in my amazon cart cause I thought it looked so cool, it's VERY deceiving with the pictures. I thought it was like 5x bigger than what it actually is!! However I bought it fully knowing it probably wasn't suitable for a fish, I really got it primarily for a plant. Even though I wasn't planing on using it with a fish the size was sooo misleading in the pictures i'm sure many people do put fish in it! It's great as just a planter but there is no way any fish would thrive in this type of environment. SMH.
This reminds me of how my job (which isnt even a pet store, btw) was selling a "Betta Fish Tank." Mind you, the tank was .46 gallons -- animal abuse. I was surprised that it even /came/ with a heater.
i wouldn't even put my dwarf white isopods in that thing!
very good video as always, i want more people to see this!
That really super super small "fish tank" would make a good decoration in a large fish tank
This should aim more after the LEGO diorama market than the impulse purchase pet market
I hate these little tanks, especially for bettas. I have a 10 gallon planted aquarium with shrimp and nerite snails to eat the algae for my betta. Whenever my family comes over to my home they always comment about how they think it’s “not worth it for one fish.” It really is sad, considering 10 gallons is one of the best tank sizes for a betta to thrive.
10 Gallons??? Your family is so wrong. Some fish need way larger!
@@nathansouthparklover I know, I just wish most people could realize that.
people who keep fish in this are like ‘if i must live in a shoebox due to the crashing house market then so will my fish ☺️’
4:04 I’m from the US, let me confirm that that tiny little box is not a 0.5 gallon. It’s could be 0.25 gallon at most. It’s very small so it could be less
I would love a bunch of these lego "aquariums". They would make a really beautiful ornamental composition - if you put some soil, moss and small plants in! Why do people need to put living animals in everything tho? :/
Also, it's far less than a gallon, not even half a gallon. I have a 1,5 gallon jar saltwater aquarium and it's a huuuuge cookie jar (no fish in there tho, obviously.)
I got an idea with those tanks! You can use it for brine shrimp Or a cool underwater decoration area! OR a use it to hold your Robo fish in! OR put it in the garbage!
Personally I would buy those "fish" tanks and use them for something totally different for a project. Not to put animals inside them.
It's about .2 gallons. Look up someone holding a gallon of milk or water and that'll give you an idea of how much 1 gallon is. That is not even close to a gallon. 💀
My friend has a beta that she keeps in a small bowl-- I will admit that it does have a heater and filter in it, as well as an actual aquatic plant but it kind of makes me cringe when I see the poor thing in there. I try to hint towards the fact that it's not the most suitable 'tank' for the fish, but she either brushes them off or says that's what they can live in
Tell your friend it’s animal abuse and bowls for fish are banned in lots of countries because of it.
No matter what it has in it bowls are abuse. Tell her firmly that she is abusing that poor fish and it is SUFFERING and DYING. Show her some good resources aswell.
I’m setting up my first fish tank this week but I can’t put fish in until I cycle it but I’m really excited because it’s my first aquarium 🐟🐠🐡
I have one of this....as a tiny mossarium in my bathroom.
It's nice for moss, but nothing else
That is *NOT* a fish tank
That is one of those giant Lego's from oriental express
"Lets take you outta there you poor thing"
The last video robo-fish was in, "Get in there bish"
Honestly I think brine shrimp are the only things suitable for this "tank", and I say that lightly.
trying to think of a single living creature that would be able to live a good life in that thing. my first thought was a solitary fruit fly, but no, I'm pretty sure those guys'd stunt their wings if put in there.
maybe a plant. a small plant. a little patch of moss, perhaps. or one (1) radish.
I’m planning on buying one of those 5 dollar tanks for my actual pet
But my pet is a rock
bc I’m not ready for another pet that will die I used to have a hamster but it passed away after a few years and I felt so bad bc it died on the same day that I didn’t check on it after showering, it died when sleeping so I hope that it wasn’t painful ❤
You could probably do some cool things with this container, however, not with live animals.
Ah yes ceramic play LEGO block fish house tank with photoshopped cichlids my favourite
That could work for jumping spiders or baby tarantulas you don’t want any thing big for those to make sure they get their food
That plastic container couldnt even fit most figures, muchless house animals
I would use that to store stuff in and not to even travel with a reptile
The fact a muffin is bigger /the same size then most of these tanks are shocking .
Hes so happy
Use it to store aquarium gravel
Yall the fish needs a name
Nowhere near a gallon. It's closer to a pint, which is an eighth of a gallon.
Might as well buy a coffin for the fish 💀 those tanks are terrible
Just ordered my plush...So excited
4:06 just think of a milk carton. Thats usually a gallon. The big ones anyways.
That “tank” looks that the container I got my fish from the fair in💀
It would look good as a aquarium scapes with no fish.
Hi Soda I love your videos! Can we see more cockatiel tik tok videos?🐦💙
It's terrible that this stuff is so popular. So much misinformation out there.
It might be cute for aqua dragons maybe? I currently have some and I wanna get a slightly bigger tank for them but I don't wanna support this 😬
I just watched the rest of the video and I just reached the part where you said that it would work for aqua dragons haha
EXACTLY PEOPLE NEED TO PROPER RESEARCH AND ALL THAT
"you can stack them, so multiple fish can suffer together" lol
My Betta is in a 5G tank. Any less than that I wouldn't have gotten any fish.
8:00 don't make your fish go through what Harry Potter went through
Nah at least Harry Potter could leave the cupboard under the stairs, and besides, it was probably bigger then that “fish tank” anyway.
bruh im not even sure brine shrimp could live happily in that
I think that this tank would be good for sea monkeys.
Man this fish tank so sad even the plastic fish looks sad
I HAVE this tank and i’m nearly certain it’s supposed to/ the original makers these are ripping off made these for marimos. Like i got one way back packaged as a marimo set, i’m assuming they got traction during the big marimo boom and people went “ah, a possible fish abuse device”
Honestly a lot of minuscule “betta tanks” that look like shit seem like they used to be marimo novelty aquariums that people put fish in. Sometimes they still have the marimo in there 🙃
All I see is a fantastic pencil holder
Might be able to house… a single isopod in there…?
Betta fish need at least 20 litters to have enough space to thrive... That doesn't look even like 1 liter. You could maybe keep sea monkeys in that thing.
can you make a video showing your fish tank set up and the types of things you have in there for people who want to learn more about taking care of fish properly and safely
Small communities of land slaters (Isopods).
looks more like a terrarium container
That "Fish thank" is sooo bad I feel bad for any fish or animal that would have to live in that you can put like a toy animal in it but not real animals I pray that everyone who got this "thank" will get rid of it and buy a great thank.
The horrendous light is sold separately hahah
OMFG. I USED TO WATCH YOU ALL THE TIME WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I FINALLY FOUND YOU AGAIN 😭😭
That "tank" is lucky if it's a quarter of a US gallon. Two liters is close to half a gallon for example.
I just looked it up and 3.785 liters is equal to 1 US gallon
I would use it for decoration but as a fish tank that’s not ok.
"Is this even a gallon?" - its not even a quart. it might literally be an eighth of a gallon. i think you could safely fit a pint of milk in that thing but no more. Also very interesting that you use gallons for aquariums in NZ! sorry we have infected the measurements lol.
very confusing to me how someone could put an animal in a space that they cant even turn around in and think that its okay. It makes vase-users look like saints
I’d maybe keep some mealworms in that.
(10:06) my fishes old tank kind of looks like that!
my new tank is about 29 gallons(for one clownfish/saltwater fish)
these are great for mini aquascapes! but not for real fishies :(
7:09 the fish is having a seizure
my friend knew that i keep pet fish and he masseaged me about exactly this lego brick micro fishtank before he ordered it. i explained to him it's too small and unmanagalbe and explained to him basics and he was grateful he saved lots of money in long term, beacuse he would have to redo everything and buy proper equipment.
I keep jumping spiders a lot and i though you meant that was for spiders and you just said fish for some reason. I’d say if you need to travel you can use that for a really small jumping spider but I don’t even recommend it for that.
It's a cute container for crafting supplies or other nicknacks, why do they have to market it as fishtank? It's like marketing a perfectly good wallpaint as a pasta sauce - sure, you expand your market, but yyyyy
It's so sad to see people buy these tanks for bettas. I have two boys and they're both long finned. They're both in 10 gallon tanks and use _all_ of the space available to them. I honestly consider 10 gallons the minimum for bettas now.
I'm kind of ashamed to admit I started out with maybe a 0.5-0.75 gallon tank for my first betta. For years, I used 2.5-3 gallon tanks. However, once I got back into the hobby a few years ago, I changed my tune entirely. I refuse to put bettas in anything less than 10 gallons now as I said.
The only pet I would consider putting in that "tank" is Robot fish or brine shrimps💀
My bassett hound will destroy that birb!
Some second hand things I always question if it was at one point stolen.
Petition to name the fake fish Freddie (Freddie the Fake Fish)
Ah yes
A 0.25 gallon (1/4) tank for one, tiny fish, might work... If you just want it to *survive* for a bit
Tiny fish as in no larger than one centimeter
