That was actually pretty heartbreaking, seeing the Baker family devolve into chaos like that, but it was a nice touch to see the Bakers actually trying to resist the virus and even help Zoe when they managed to get a hold of their sanity however long they were able to do so.

It's unbelievable that there are people who think eveline is the victim more than the Baker family, a tragic backstory is never an excuse to create tragedy or justify the evil behaviour, she had the chance to really get what she wanted, but when she choose to harm, mutate, murder, control the innocent family and all those people came to the house, she is no different from those who created her, a monster.

my theory is that when this first happened during the day they were fine. but after years of this happening they just completely lost it. because when Ethan gets to the house he can see Jack walking around seemingly insane like during the day. but notice how Mia had pretty good control of evie during the part in the dungeon (which seemingly takes place during the day.) and then when you get up to the surface at night time Mia loses it. so maybe over time it completely takes over your body but at first it only affects you at night

This is the one thing I hate about prequels, and it's when you see characters in such a kind and caring way, and you have to deal with the harsh reality that it's setting up events, you care for these characters but you have to deal with the fact that they are either going to go insane or become villians.
While some of this was definitely interesting to see, this all escalated way too quickly, so much so that it contradicts the files/character notes in the game, where it says it happened over time, not just in a matter of minutes.
I know it's an old comment, but you failed to mention that the baker's had moments of lucidity during a period of time where they would periodically get "normal" again. And during these moments Jack would visit a doctor for his symptoms (hallucinations, hearing stuffs, etc) while never suspecting Evelyn, well except Zoe, she suspected her. Which explains why she isolated herself from the family and was secretly always looking for a way out (working with previous victims and try to help them escape but failing many times). And also explaining why she was more "normal" and Evelyn's influence was less intense, since she never fully accepted the "gift". So no, none of the files contradict the DLC, quite the contrary. She also knew that a cure could be made from the tissues of the other mummified D-class little girls (past failed experiments) explaining also why she told Ethan to get the samples in order to create a serum for her and Mia.
This is flipping awesome to see what happened before the Bakers turned, but conflicts slightly with some of the notes in the regular game. In Marguerite's diary she mentioned getting the gift after Eve stayed a few days, but then in the DLC she just gives her the gift before she's even dry from the rain.
Notice how the mom (I can't remember her name) is trying to fight Evelyn's infection she said "no don't hurt her I'm not gonna let you hurt my family"she was the one that I feel was trying to fight the infection
I think this presentation bears a lot more emotion. Jack hadn't immediately converted yet, so to see him intervene and have to restrain his own wife from attacking their daughter was hard to watch.
Jacks last noble act as his normal self. Sacrificed himself to be infected to give Zoe a chance to get away. Wish I could see more of Jack as his normal self. Was glad to finally see Margarete normal. She seemed just as sweet. Then again Jack was also a former marine. Don't know how many of you caught that picture. A great guy and family (except Lucas) that just wanted to help save survivors. My only hope is in the Not a Hero DLC "Redfield can some how save Zoe and she aint too far gone. I'm sure they brought plenty of serum seeing how they made bullets out of it. And more so I cant wait to see him take Lucas down in the mines. I hope he dies slow like poor Clancy did. He deserves nothing better since he was not being mind controlled and the only side effects were the good ones (regenerative growth). So you got a psychopathic Ted Bundy type but who's incredibly smart in engineering and traps and shit and he can regenerate. But if this is the real redfeild his puzzles will be a joke to him.

I wish there was more content focused around their lives before the infection, or a dlc that gives you the option to save the bakers before the infection takes over too much, it would've been interesting, oh well. And yeah, the fact that Lucas was content with his newly infected family and the whole situation is quite disturbing, and considering his past with the bully, he deserves punishment, and im glad it was delivered in the not a hero dlc.
Holy shit Zoe had to run and hide from her family for 3 years in their estate? I can’t imagine a worse hell, being trapped in a mansion with monsters everywhere looking for you. I wonder how many of the Bakers previous victims she tried to help and guide across the property but it sounds like no one ever made it out of the house with her line of “you’re the first I’ve ever seen make it this far” when you talk to her in the trailer. This also explains why she couldn’t ever retrieve the ingredients herself and had to rely on whoever else happened to be unlucky enough to get recently caught.

This DLC is good but it is a plot hole,because in the main story you could read letter from margarite that she visited the doctor because she started to hear voices and it took much more time than just 10 min for them to turn into thoose beings we encountered in the game.

Unlike most DLCs in games, RE7 really gave some good story to what happened to the Baker Family, and in fact makes you feel sort of sorry for them.

Jack is such a nice man, it pisses me off that Eveline ruined their family. They take in people from the storm and take care of them, Jack clearly cares for his family and rushed to protect Zoe from Marguerite, despite her being his wife.
I feel you man. I wish there was an alternative to where you could save them before the infection takes over too much. Also if you pay close attention, you'll notice that before Jack punches zoe continuously, he hesitates for a second. Same with Maguerite and the keys, quite disheartening.

Jack, Lucas and Marguerite seem pretty sweet when they were their normal uninfected selves. Such a caring southern family. Honestly I’d hang with them.
Also the line where we find out Jack snaps makes me laugh I’m terrible.

The Father, Jack, is so kind and seeing him trying to save lives instead of taking them is making me so happy. Now he is a killing machine and that makes me so mad.
It's unbelievable that there are people who think eveline is the victim more than the Baker family, a tragic backstory is never an excuse to create tragedy or justify the evil behaviour, she had the chance to really get what she wanted, but when she choose to harm, mutate, murder, control the innocent family and all those people came to the house, she is no different from those who created her, a monster.
i feel so empathetic towards them. its really saddening to see what happened to a good family.

uhhh its just me or there a plotthole in this in the game its clearly state dat in margeurite diaries ever since eveline came in they started feeling strange and wat not when she first came in in here we saw marguerite completly flip out in less than like 10 mins or so her dieies say dat she atleast felt strange and for a couple of days b4 going to hospital to check up her health... so now im like wtf?!?!

my theory is that when this first happened during the day they were fine. but after years of this happening they just completely lost it. because when Ethan gets to the house he can see Jack walking around seemingly insane like during the day. but notice how Mia had pretty good control of evie during the part in the dungeon (which seemingly takes place during the day.) and then when you get up to the surface at night time Mia loses it. so maybe over time it completely takes over your body but at first it only affects you at night

This is the one thing I hate about prequels, and it's when you see characters in such a kind and caring way, and you have to deal with the harsh reality that it's setting up events, you care for these characters but you have to deal with the fact that they are either going to go insane or become villians.

While some of this was definitely interesting to see, this all escalated way too quickly, so much so that it contradicts the files/character notes in the game, where it says it happened over time, not just in a matter of minutes.
I know it's an old comment, but you failed to mention that the baker's had moments of lucidity during a period of time where they would periodically get "normal" again. And during these moments Jack would visit a doctor for his symptoms (hallucinations, hearing stuffs, etc) while never suspecting Evelyn, well except Zoe, she suspected her. Which explains why she isolated herself from the family and was secretly always looking for a way out (working with previous victims and try to help them escape but failing many times). And also explaining why she was more "normal" and Evelyn's influence was less intense, since she never fully accepted the "gift". So no, none of the files contradict the DLC, quite the contrary.
She also knew that a cure could be made from the tissues of the other mummified D-class little girls (past failed experiments) explaining also why she told Ethan to get the samples in order to create a serum for her and Mia.

This is flipping awesome to see what happened before the Bakers turned, but conflicts slightly with some of the notes in the regular game. In Marguerite's diary she mentioned getting the gift after Eve stayed a few days, but then in the DLC she just gives her the gift before she's even dry from the rain.
ThatGirlsSite Evie gives her two gifts. The gift of the bugs and the gift of that mummified little d series girl arm and the head.

I think this presentation bears a lot more emotion. Jack hadn't immediately converted yet, so to see him intervene and have to restrain his own wife from attacking their daughter was hard to watch.
Jacks last noble act as his normal self. Sacrificed himself to be infected to give Zoe a chance to get away. Wish I could see more of Jack as his normal self. Was glad to finally see Margarete normal. She seemed just as sweet. Then again Jack was also a former marine. Don't know how many of you caught that picture. A great guy and family (except Lucas) that just wanted to help save survivors. My only hope is in the Not a Hero DLC "Redfield can some how save Zoe and she aint too far gone. I'm sure they brought plenty of serum seeing how they made bullets out of it. And more so I cant wait to see him take Lucas down in the mines. I hope he dies slow like poor Clancy did. He deserves nothing better since he was not being mind controlled and the only side effects were the good ones (regenerative growth). So you got a psychopathic Ted Bundy type but who's incredibly smart in engineering and traps and shit and he can regenerate. But if this is the real redfeild his puzzles will be a joke to him.
Yeah man, i agree it is rather sad to see this all take place. I wish there was more content focused around their lives before the infection, or a dlc that gives you the option to save the bakers before the infection takes over too much, it would've been interesting, oh well. And yeah, the fact that Lucas was content with his newly infected family and the whole situation is quite disturbing, and considering his past with the bully, he deserves punishment, and im glad it was delivered in the not a hero dlc.

Holy shit Zoe had to run and hide from her family for 3 years in their estate? I can’t imagine a worse hell, being trapped in a mansion with monsters everywhere looking for you. I wonder how many of the Bakers previous victims she tried to help and guide across the property but it sounds like no one ever made it out of the house with her line of “you’re the first I’ve ever seen make it this far” when you talk to her in the trailer. This also explains why she couldn’t ever retrieve the ingredients herself and had to rely on whoever else happened to be unlucky enough to get recently caught.

cause when marguerite touched her became infected, and when eveline woke up, triggered the infection on her, jack only touched her clothes and later marguerite infected him when used that insects or kinda, i think thats what happened, or maybe she was the first nicely ethan finished all

This DLC is good but it is a plot hole,because in the main story you could read letter from margarite that she visited the doctor because she started to hear voices and it took much more time than just 10 min for them to turn into thoose beings we encountered in the game.

My first time playing through I was wandering around and found a locked drawer and also found a lockpick in the little hidden crawl space, I never went back there because I forgot where it was, but I probably would've had a different ending because of whatever was in the drawer
