Think the part that's the most upsetting: after the battle, even if you COULDN'T respawn, like if she actually killed you for good, the DETERMINATION in her body would have turned her into an amalgam, or flat out killed her. She loses either way, she's just doing what she has to

In her finest hour, she draws not just upon her own powers, but her heart beats with the whole world as one. Monsterkind, Humankind, and even the planet itself all funnel into her, making her into the strongest monster imaginable, with 99 attack and 99 defense, there is no possible way for a living being to be stronger, or tougher than her. Able to stave of savage blows that would kill any other monster, even Asgore, in one hit, she takes the world shattering hits with a smile, and turns it around, delivering blow after blow.
In the end, even displaying all of the virtues of Humanity, she, and the world, would eventually fade to darkness. She had mastered Determination, but a human... or Demon... with DETERMINATION... would set the world to zero. In the end is only the howling wind.

Undyne and Asgore, the two most badass characters in the game for me
Alongside Mettaton NEO. He knew his fight was futile but he fought anyway because he knew every second was a chance for people to escape, and he knew that he saved people while stalling the human.

You must have not heard many things.
When I did Genocide, I was only aware the Sans was a boss fight. That was the only reason I did it, to beat Sans. But the guilt kept creeping up as you progress...then you reach Undyne. I was caught so off guard, and I was terrified. Beat me several times and was a crazy experience.
A character who doesn't break the fourth wall, but rather a hero who stands valiantly to defend those they love. Looking back and listening to this amazing mix brings tears to my eyes. Fight hard Undyne. Never give up.
I’m the pacifist rout she tried to summon unimaginable power but was not able to because at that moment her heart was not pure enough but in the genocide route she realized everything she has ever cared about was at stake and with that realization she broke her very limits and used something that would destroy monsters body’s and mind DETERMINATION but instead of melting into an a amalgamation mess her heart remain pure and she masterd the unstable DETERMINATION she truly is the true heroine
Monsters are not supposed to have DETERMINATION, because that is a trait only human can use in order to reload their SAVE files. According to Alphys' research, inbuing a monster with DETERMINATION causes them to melt, which is what happened to Undyne when she developed DETERMINATION on her own.
She basically fought so hard and refused so stubbornly to be defeated, that she broke the laws of the game.
@@starmanexe7721 it would be awesome if a game came out and set specific rules about what the characters can and cannot do, like undertale with monsters and determination, but have a character break those rules and the developer come out and say after a while that, "That character isn't supposed to do that."
Like, Toby could've said that "Undyne was never supposed to have an 'Undying form', she was never meant to survive beyond the first strike, your game must be broken, the only real fight you're supposed to have in genocide was sans."

I recently realized something about undyne the undying
For me, at least, she won, in the 1 genocide playthrough I did I never got past her, she stopped me, she stopped Chara, that timeliness got a somewhat happy ending, the earth really did refuse to die
Even as the one defeated I feel immensely moved by that fact
I just couldn't follow the path of killing. I played absolutely peaceful because of my deep love to all of the characters, let it be I didn't see all the perfect stuff that Toby put in the masterpiece. And I'm still happy.

I am shocked at this, out of all the songs I have heard in my time and stories which I have come across I was always fascinated and in love with the idea of Undyne in the genocide route, furthermore hearing this made my jaw drop, immediately at the beginning I turned my volume WAY up at hearing the first few notes because I knew I would want to hear this song and every detail it had to offer in the highest quality that I could. You have earned my subscription and support for songs ten times over.

This is amazing. It really creates that heartbreaking feeling of hope you see in Undyne in the genocide route. This OST made me rethink my genocide run and I haven't been able to ever complete it. I just feel so heartbroken whenever I hear this, yet at the same time full of hope and inspiration. Undyne is truly the hope of the underground at this point and the drawn out nature of this really conveys her determination to survive. Because....I... U N D Y N E … W I L L S T R I K E Y O U D O W N! (AND THAT SLIGHT PITCH SHIFT WAS AMAZING OMG)

What's especially interesting is Vetrom was able to make a very short sound clip into a song that remains interesting for at least 2 and a half minutes! I'd say at around 3:50 sort of realized it wouldn't go anywhere else, but that's a very good length!
Sweet Spirit thats true. The songs on the undertale ost tend to be extremely short; i have extra respect for everyone who manages to remix them into anything lengthy and not-overly-repetitive simultaneously

I remember that time I beat Undyne The Undying. I really struggled for two hard hours. The epicness of the fight, the music, and the storytelling, is why Undyne is my favorite character. (The neutral death is awesome, and it is a shame people don’t acknowledge, or look at it the same way, as anything in the pacifist route, or the genocide route!) The main reason, is that when I triumphed, I was so proud of myself. I have never been a confident person. That caused me to be depressed. This confidence boost helped keep me from mentally hurt, all the time, for any longer. The memories always bring a smile to my face.
Yah, this is the first time I quit the genocide route. I could've beaten her, but at that point I really didn't want to.
