My husband and I drove from Houston to Destin last summer for our anniversary and it nice great but not the most romantic place for couples. But its great for families and kids. And dont bother with Margaritaville because the food is trash

They r really trying to recoup money from last year. It usually cost us 3-4K for a house with private pool for 2 weeks. The house we r renting for 2 weeks (and yes after Labor Day) is cost over 8k for 2 weeks. Hate spending that but my mom really wants to go one more time. She's 86.
It's a smaller town in the off season but it gets ridiculously crowded during the summer. 5 minute drives begin to take 20-30 min. I live here and its absolutely beautiful though. The prettiest beaches I have ever seen.
Hi, I just found this n sent it to my lil sister who happens to be going to Destin at the end of March. They are planning on driving down from MI luckily so they won't have to worry about not having a ride! Lol
I use to live in Destin on Holiday Isle back in the 80's. It was wonderful back then . There were 5 condos on the island then. I don't recognize it now. I find it very sad. Destin had 1 red light in it.. You could drive from Destin to Sandestin and could see the beach and water all the way there..
We have been here for 10 days and it's the most amazing gorgeous beach I've ever seen. The water is clear and warm. I am in awe of how Beautiful it is here. Crystal clear.
Lived their once for about a year, it's an overpriced, overcrowded tourist trap imo. Prefer Pensacola Beach or Perdido Key. If your a "local" it's not so much fun, it made me want to leave which I eventually did.

Live here for 8 yrs and will always be my home. Move to Surprise, Arizona. Can’t wait to move back for good.

Henderson State Park in Destin is a fabulous place to visit also!!! Beautiful Emerald Green water!!
Crab Island used to be a real island till hurricane Eloise in 1975 blew it away. Great review.

go to the beach and it’s beautiful there it is crystal clear waters

Will be here for my yearly vacation June 5th-12th at shoreline tower. I love destin and have went yearly for the last 5 years.

I’ve lived here my entire life and work at the hotels here they aren’t $200 unless it’s a motel 6 hotels in the area start at $300-1000 a night
We got an entire condo for like 270 a night

Yes. Its best to try and stay as close to the Boardwalk as possible if you intend to be hanging out around there.

IT was not reliable when I was there. Uber and Lyft are limited and so is Cabs. Must call ahead of time.

The Gulf was flat like glass. Perfect for kids swimming but nothing for surfers.
Live in the area, they normally surf during storms 😳🤦🏻♀️
Waves were great while we were there (week before july 4th) perfect for body surfing and swimming
