I have Yamaha Rx 100 when first launch in India 1985 .almost 39 years left bike is still in good condition changed the tyres back shock and brake shoes oil change that is nessery. every bike need.but one awesome thing is that bike never need to open their engine still sealed that's the Yamaha

I own suzuki Gixxer,completed 18000 km....it still rides and sounds d same.mileage is also superb ....around 50 km in city.But that doesn't make fz any less...it is an awesome bike with well refined engine...but mileage drops significantly with use to around 35kmpl.That is d only problem with fz...or else I feel fz engine much smoother than gixxer

you meant to refer pillion for long ride or shorter?Never tried pillion for long rides but shorter rides in the city wont be problem..i did 350 km non stop in western ghats solo and its fine..Yes it does touches the speed breakers which are steep.Again it all depends on how you manage at speed breakers,try to ride parallel over them or just have a bit more speed n hop through them..Milage is around 45 in cities. i completed 14k in 13 months

In terms of mileage and comfort there is no comparision at all.. As avenger is a touring vehicle where as gixxer is a sporty commuter.. Mileage : Avenger around 30, Gixxer around 50. Go for Gixxer ;)

I rode both bikes....both r superb.....but gixer is more comfortable n stable on roads.....The disadvantage of gixer is its ground clearance is very less,its lower panel hits d ground when u r double sit n on bumpy roads....
yesterday I went test drive for both Gixxer and Horner. I didn't feel any difference. I just wanted to know in long run what n all I have to compromise with both bikes.? anything above 45+ mileage is good for me. Less maintenance cost. This is my requirements.
Performance wise Gixxer is the best but stability wise fz is the king.Personally I felt fz is much more confident to ride on the road than the Gixxer.Gixxer or hornet can never reach near the braking stability of fz. Not comparing to present Gixxer and hornet with ABS. Yamaha should consider ABS atleast as an option.I too was great fan of Gixxer it's riding ergonomics is so good but when u ride both Gixxer and fz back to back u see fz is still the best to ride the confidence what it offers is unmatchable to the rivals.
gixxer is a good package but i still doubt on its size and design , the headlamps are too crappy almost ruining the sporty flavor . i think that the bike looks very small no offence , the fzs fi is spot on on design and mileage and looks more appealing than the gixxer but the engine capacity could have been increased as the version 2 .. the key fact is price , price will definitely seek more gixxer customers

I am feeling my gixxer seat height a little higher than the bike they gave me for test drive. Will the seat height gets lowered after few days of ride as the low seat height was the biggest factor why I chose this bike.
I purchased fz16 normal Blue last month clocked 1400km.....Fz16 Still look better more muscular than both bike....It also have comfortable pillion seats...Its torquey however the fuel efficency is low i am getting 42kmpl but fuel efficency depends how you treat and ride your bike....I ride carefully not push the bike....I clocked max 82 Kmph.....My friends keep tells me to check the top speed but i dont...Because i am not intrested...I have 8 Years of exp riding the bike previously i have pulsar,stunner,I enjoyed high speeds before so no i am looking smooth ride...thats it..
I personally hate the bikes with first gear down and rest gears up, i cant drive easily with that, platina is just perfect, i own 1 and i love that with all front gears and neutral from back :)
Someone looking for performance should look at Gixxer.Sitting posture for pillion rider is not good for long ride.Yamaha FZ S Ver-2 is a very good allround Bike .Yamaha has got quality with good switch,Good Fuel economy,Ride quality comfort and Handling.If some one wants a complete allround bike go for Yamaha FZ-S V2.Look forward from yamaha and Suzuki to provide Disc brake on rear tyre with combi brakes and day time light.
Nothing can beat Apache 160 in its segment,,,,ride quality...comfort..and mileage of 45 in cities,,,If u have been in an Apache you will know nothing handles good like the Apache...I own an Apache for more than 2 years and i have driven almost 50000 kms..and i couldn't find any flaw or drawback when compared with other bikes of the same segment...Added i am an Automobile engineer i am always updated with the new bikes and i also drive those,,,,but nothing convinces me more than my Apache....riding position is too good in it...I am also waiting for a better bike than Apache...
bro…. did u face any problems after buying gixxer…. some people are saying that gears are harder while changing and ground clearance level is low… it hits the ground during speed breakers… because of double seating…

I brought a gixxer abt 5 months back, had finished two services n ran abt 4000km.... Its giving me abt 60kmpl mileage... I usually drive at 50 to 60kmph.. So according to me gixxer is better than fz...its jus my opinion no offence to fz fans...

Excellent review. Glad you guys made one. But i am confused between few bikes . I am a college student and I am planning to buy a new bike . Please help to choose one . My considerations are : 1. Pulsar 150 AS 2. Gixxer 155 3. Apache 200 RTR And also no one had done a review between Pulsar 150 AS and Gixxer 155 . There's too lot of review between Gixxer SF and Pulsar AS not a good one with Pulsar VS Gixxer 155 . Please make one and waiting for review on Apache RTR 200 4V
Apache 160 cc is missing in camparo. Beside this FZ millage is not so good and gixxer has got even lesser millage. Has FZ v 2 really solved millage issue??

hornet definitely looks better but as for mileage fz is better, service depends on service center guys, both yamaha and honda are big companies so you wouldn't have problem with any parts. Do have your bike tiflon coated or hard waxed for lasting long and not rusting.

I own gixxer. The bike is great The power is awesome. I love the way it accelerates. Great handling. I was a slow rider but after getting gixxer ive started to fast coz it speeds easily that we never know it unless seeing speedometer. Problems i face : 1. Hard very hard gear shift 2. Bad headlight 3. Very small front mud guard 4. Forget pillion rider comfort 5. Bad service centre
FZ Fi has the updated tyres, revz Y and Zapper FX1, which are more rounded. From the tread pattern as in this video, Gixxer clearly has the older revz or revz M and zapper FX, which have flatter profile. How can you blindly claim that Gixxer has more rounded tyres?

the gixxer rides great, but it has certain shortcomings. with the pillion rider on, the ground clearance becomes very very tight and almost have to bring the bike to 1st gear to avoid contact with a medium size speed breaker. the seat has a slope that makes the pillion rider very much uncomfortable cause it tends to slide every now and then ( not a problem unless you're riding with your girlfriend). the headlight visibility is poor. the fuel efficiency is great. much better to ride than the fz. instrument cluster is best in comparison. overall a very good product, if one is riding without a companion, its truly magnificent to ride.

Gixxer abi single disc me band ho gyi he...so u hve to buy gixxer with rear disc whicj has on road price about 96 to 97k....fzs 2.0 also has same price 96k onroad in pune....so which should i buy?
+ram reddy both has very good performance but the Fz-Fi is more refined but gixxer has a stiffer suspension than the FZ-V2.0 which may help u in cornering fast....
i somehow feel the fz-s v2.0 s better in design...atleast the headlight and allround design(xcept the tail light.of fz..gixxers s awesome)....i hope the fazer competitor frm suzuki will have a brilliant design....ill hold on till then....

I recently fill 7.6 liters fuel worth rupees 500 I drove 319kms still reserve not on....Now you measure what kind of economy its giving to me.

Nirjhar Bhatnagar P200 Is powerfull but it also heavy and expensive with 32kmpl economy.....Simply upper budget
I personally hate the bikes with first gear down and rest gears up, i cant drive easily with that, platina is just perfect, i own 1 and i love that with all front gears and neutral from back :)
Someone looking for performance should look at Gixxer.Sitting posture for pillion rider is not good for long ride.Yamaha FZ S Ver-2 is a very good allround Bike .Yamaha has got quality with good switch,Good Fuel economy,Ride quality comfort and Handling.If some one wants a complete allround bike go for Yamaha FZ-S V2.Look forward from yamaha and Suzuki to provide Disc brake on rear tyre with combi brakes and day time light.
Nothing can beat Apache 160 in its segment,,,,ride quality...comfort..and mileage of 45 in cities,,,If u have been in an Apache you will know nothing handles good like the Apache...I own an Apache for more than 2 years and i have driven almost 50000 kms..and i couldn't find any flaw or drawback when compared with other bikes of the same segment...Added i am an Automobile engineer i am always updated with the new bikes and i also drive those,,,,but nothing convinces me more than my Apache....riding position is too good in it...I am also waiting for a better bike than Apache...

bro…. did u face any problems after buying gixxer…. some people are saying that gears are harder while changing and ground clearance level is low… it hits the ground during speed breakers… because of double seating…

You're right Mr.Guotham .Gixxer's gear are little bit harder than others because Suzuki has the facility to show its gear position ,these switches also works while changing gears ,that's why it feel harder

I brought a gixxer abt 5 months back, had finished two services n ran abt 4000km.... Its giving me abt 60kmpl mileage... I usually drive at 50 to 60kmph.. So according to me gixxer is better than fz...its jus my opinion no offence to fz fans...

Excellent review. Glad you guys made one. But i am confused between few bikes . I am a college student and I am planning to buy a new bike . Please help to choose one . My considerations are :
1. Pulsar 150 AS
2. Gixxer 155
3. Apache 200 RTR
And also no one had done a review between Pulsar 150 AS and Gixxer 155 . There's too lot of review between Gixxer SF and Pulsar AS not a good one with Pulsar VS Gixxer 155 . Please make one and waiting for review on Apache RTR 200 4V

Fz-s 2.0 vs Honda cbs hornet 160r which is better in class, mileage style, long lasting and service provider
hornet definitely looks better but as for mileage fz is better, service depends on service center guys, both yamaha and honda are big companies so you wouldn't have problem with any parts. Do have your bike tiflon coated or hard waxed for lasting long and not rusting.

The power is awesome. I love the way it accelerates. Great handling. I was a slow rider but after getting gixxer ive started to fast coz it speeds easily that we never know it unless seeing speedometer. Problems i face :
1. Hard very hard gear shift
2. Bad headlight
3. Very small front mud guard
4. Forget pillion rider comfort
5. Bad service centre
FZ Fi has the updated tyres, revz Y and Zapper FX1, which are more rounded. From the tread pattern as in this video, Gixxer clearly has the older revz or revz M and zapper FX, which have flatter profile. How can you blindly claim that Gixxer has more rounded tyres?

FZ-S FI is old school. The new FZ 150i is water cooled and makes 16.2 hp eats these bike for breakfast. Air cooled bikes just don't cut it sorry.

final: the bike have hand bar, in straight like fz hand bar
the gixxer rides great, but it has certain shortcomings. with the pillion rider on, the ground clearance becomes very very tight and almost have to bring the bike to 1st gear to avoid contact with a medium size speed breaker. the seat has a slope that makes the pillion rider very much uncomfortable cause it tends to slide every now and then ( not a problem unless you're riding with your girlfriend). the headlight visibility is poor. the fuel efficiency is great. much better to ride than the fz. instrument cluster is best in comparison. overall a very good product, if one is riding without a companion, its truly magnificent to ride.

a fuel injected bike will always have better mileage than a carbureted bike so FZ is better in terms of mileage

+ram reddy both has very good performance but the Fz-Fi is more refined but gixxer has a stiffer suspension than the FZ-V2.0 which may help u in cornering fast....
