- Volvo's subscription program 'Care by Volvo' is off to a rocky start. At least some customers were given dates for the delivery of their new XC40s that have been pushed back indefinitely.

No one has received a car from Volvo via Care by Volvo yet, according to my concierge. It sounds like it will be another month until the cars are delivered. Normal bought and leased XC40's are on the road, just not the CbV ones..
its beacuase every one whants one and they would rather send them to the ones that buy one
Keep this series! The commentary is pretty top notch...
Thanks, Brenden!
Oh no a new roll-out of a completely new program is taking longer??? Who would've freaking thought... Get back to me when you criticize Tesla for the model 3 for doing the same shit
Thank you Raymond for spreading our frustration. I am hanging on to hope this will be a great third option.
Of course! I do hope they come through for everyone whose waiting patiently. Always nice to see successful innovation.
Appealing as this may seem I wouldn't be in a hurry to get on board. I'd rather wait to see or learn about customer feedback after the first 12 -18 months of the program. I'd also want to know what the insurance policy covers before I sign anything. The repeated delay in delivery is a tad offputting too.
It'll get better for Volvo! Its a new program n it blew up beyond their expectations too fast!! Its called "SUCCESS" kudos to VOLVO!
im waiting to hear the "I tried to return my volvo xc40 after a year of subscription" stories... Whoooops, looks like you didn't empty the trash bin, $50 fee!
Doesn't Cadillac have a similiar lease thing going on? Nice video
If I had never discovered Jalopnik, my perspective and overall knowledge on cars could have been the equivalent of somebody buying a Mitsubishi Eclipse Crossover and calling it "The best successor to the old Eclipse."
lol
Ordered mine on January 15th... Got a few emails from my concierge, and was told delivery should be first week of May. It's Second week of May, and still no car.
Sorry to hear that, Kenny.
Any update?
I completely forgot to update this. So a month after the comment(June 16), I finally got the car. I was literally the first person at my dealership to get an xc40 through care by Volvo. The vehicle is great and I have no issues with the program nor the program, one month in.
kenny chun I am really interested!! But, as with buying or leasing, how is the customer service...if I do get into an accident, am I taken care of 100% or will I need to jump through tons of hoops to get the car fixed, loaner car, etc etc...
I know you don’t have he answers, but this is an open question.
Great that you’ve got the car!! I look forward to hearing updates (typo, sorry)!
Lmao my local subscription service lets me switch as many cars id like in a week! No waiting for one year.
They keep pushing their crappy ads the whole time. IDFC VOLVO.
Ow, and nice Video btw.
I was curious was the prices on this
Progress! I just got my invitation to apply for Liberty Mutual insurance, got approval!
Rob Cossin Did you get the car yet?
I was in an accident that left me with half a brain, this service sounds great to me and I will sign up right away.
Love the idea, hate the millage limit, and i would like to be able to switch my car more frequently.
I got my car in less than 7 days via Care by Volvo and it was was as easy as signing up for a phone
Awesome video, Ray!!! That was hilarious, insightful, and highly informative. Personally, the idea of a car subscription makes me sad. We live in a society that would rather have self-driving cars and car subscription services than enjoy the freedom of driving or the knowledge and pleasure of repairing/modify their own vehicles. "Get a new one every 12 months" wtf? Why? Maybe I'm just getting old.
Our car was delayed from March 28 to April 28 then August 1 and that’s bs
So I said I’ll cancel the order cuz they would loose out on 52 grand and it’s a small dealer so they made it June 1st I’m so exited still
Did you get it?
Thoughts, Ideas, and what? Yes and after 2lrs 1 Lexus 3 vws 2 Audi’s 1 Merc 3 fords 1 Puegeot I can say it’s the best car I’ve ever had
Wow, that says a lot. I am really interested as I like the car and like the all-in basket idea. I'd prefer not to have to deal with Lease/Loan, then Insurance, then maintenance.
Were there any "fees" or extras to be aware of?
* Like in a lease, there is that "Open lease" fee and then the "End Lease" fee and with some dealers / manufacturers, there may be other fees.
How is customer service at the dealership and with the concierge?
How about dealing with Insurance and any of the other overhead?
Thanks!
i got mine in record time and love it
Raffaele Piemonte how long did it take I’m looking to get it
I think I’d like an XC40. Until they’re available, I’ll keep my 45 year old Cadillac- it too, has a removable litter container built in.
Haha, maybe that's one I should consider for my girlfriend. :P
Volvo now says they don't know when NY subscribers will receive their cars agreement not finalized with NYS
Sounds great, only trade off is ya gotta drive a Volvo
My dad has an xc40
How does he like it? And what year/version?
Raymond Cinemato T5 R design
Beer Burglar ye probably
Ughh people these days
It’s my understanding that this program starts at about $600 a month. I did the math on this and by the time I pay for all of the costs of owning my 2015 Mazda 6 each month besides the fuel (you still have to pay for your fuel with this program) I’m saving about $150-200 a month compared to this program. Plus I actually get to keep the car when it’s paid off instead of making payments forever. Is it an apples to apples comparison? No. But I’m saving a ton of money in the long run by keeping my car once it’s paid for rather than continuing to make payments on a car I’ll never own. Some people will love this program but long term from a financial standpoint it’s really not the most economical choice.
3 Big Questions
1) What are the qualifications for subscription Volvo?
2) Is there a down payment?
3) Is there a penalty for exceeding milage limits? If so what are the millage limits & penalty's?
Anyone notice his glasses are a bit too small for him?

I’m sure only people with perfect credit get this stuff
if you get flexdrive car subscription you need any credit score just a clean driving record for the past 3 years

Nahh. I prefer to change cars every 8 or 9 months and take a 3k loss every time.
They created a way for normies to buy cars......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Calm down this service brand new still
This is what happens when you leave a good car brand with the chinese!
As opposed to leaving it in the care of the Americans, who brought it to the verge of bankruptcy.
