There seems to be a lot of hype about ChatGPT this week and month - seems well orchestrated. It is a bigger invasion of privacy than google as they are asking you for email AND phone number verified before you can even try it. No thanks. I am fine with duckduckgo.
Kevin's first demo is a great example of how human error can lead to the incorrect answer even when the tools are behaving perfectly. He asks for the sum of the values in B2 through B10, but his data is actually in B2 through B11.

I'm a coder but every now and then I need to write a fairly complicated Excel or Google Sheets formula and it takes me a while to scour tutorials, read documentation and figure how to do it. ChatGPT is going to make writing up these formulae so much easier.

I love Excel, and even use it for fun - more often than I feel comfortable saying. I have created the most complicated scenarios that I can think of and asked ChatGPT to come up with formulas and/or functions that I thought were impossible, and the results have been amazing!

ChatGPT looks like a great productivity and knowledge tool. Seems to me, there is 1 catch: ChatGPT makes small mistakes, and it takes real in-depth knowledge from the user to spot and tackle those mistakes. That's especially visible towards the end of the video, where Kevin manually corrects the Excel Macro code.
yeah that is true, but you can also ask ChatGPT if you don't understand something or you can ask ChatGPT to retry if there is a mistake or ask ChatGPT questions to find the error. That is a lot faster then learning an entire computer language.
Well, don't we ALL make mistakes? Doublecheck the work !

Fantastic vid. Amazing how far AI has come already. And as far as I know, it wasn't trained to learn Excel or other languages either. As an ex sw developer your last example was quite frankly alarming... in a good way.
What a ride, after watching this video I hyperfocused for like 6 hours lol, I've never programmed for shit but I have okay logic, so I was able to create a super worksheet that can bulk insert images and resize them one per cell, automatically add the dates of the pictures, a menu to display all of the companies that I offer services to, and with a single click it creates the PDF, exactly how I needed for my reports, changes the title to the company name, opens outlook, creates an email to be send to them with custom header and body and the PDF already attached just waiting for me to press send. And a handy button to clean everything when I want to make another one (I fucking hated selecting images one by one in Excel to delete them lol I was dumb af). Now I'm excited to share this with my coworkers and make everybody's jobs easier, thanks for the inspiration man ✨

I have used this in office, gpt wrote a whole paragraph of excel formula which i entered into the cell and boom, it basically saved at-least a full day's work.
