    Coverage of the first round stage of the men's 4x100m relay event from the Olympic Stadium as the Jamaican and USA teams win their respected heats at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
    Team GB were disqualified from the race following a illegal baton hand-over so their second place went to Canada with the Netherlands also qualifying as a result.
    Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

    This timing of London Round 1 Jamaica 37.39 is even faster than Tokyo 2020 Final Italian Timing of 37.50, pretty insane even without Usain Bolt. The Jamaicans were simply stunning at their peak

      @@axdan_8 I believe Jamaican men will be back, but I mean in a way what your comment describes is to be expected, Jamaica’s population is comparable to Houston, so they’d be much less likely to keep churning out world class sprinters like the states. Jamaicas small size relative to their great success is why they’re so outstanding.

      Also a lot of top worth youth and junior finalists and winners for some reason just didn’t make the step up to the senior level well for jamaica. Skeen, Todd, minzie, Murphy, and the list goes on. All were either finalists or medalists at the world u20/u18 level since 2010 and yet barely improved as seniors sadly. Seville looks to be the first one to break thru the youth barrier since maybe Bailey-cole

    Great Britain would have won the bronze medal behind Jamaica & the USA had they not mess up the baton change. Having said that, Adam Gemili has a brilliant future.

    Add Odane Skeen to the list of Jamaica's next great world beaters. Along with Jazeel Murphy, Odane Skeen is still a junior in 2013. Jamaica be on fyah if both of them can go under 10 secs in their last year at jurnior level.

    Look at the distance they won the heat and look at the time if this was 2008 with that time they would have broken the world record and remember they smashed the world record without Asafa Powell ,trust me Jamaica has a lot of sprinters.The guy who ran the anchor is Kamal Bailey watch out for him the next two years.

    I have a question. Ist heat is run by without bolt. They are allowed to change athletes in semis and finals??
    it seems yes
    Then, Medals are only awarded to final race athletes or to the every athlete who take part even in first round and semis????..

  • @GyalisAndino
    @GyalisAndino Před 11 lety +1

    They tried to get the lead before the anchor so that the US would have a better chance. If he did anchor, JA would have easily had a bigger lead going into the anchor since whoever they put against Fraser wouldn't have beat him.

    I think that those three Cole, Murphy and Forte will be the next great world beaters. Now Cole is ahead, but when Murphy begins to get the training under Mill he will have a bigger up-swing than Cole.Also, i am predicting that Murphy will be the first junior to go under 10sec.
