Short chapters are so much better in my opinion. When chapters are forty pages long it can be overwhelming.
I love buying used classics. It just adds to their history and makes them all the better!
I'm so happy you mentioned used books and how they are totally okay to have. For some of us who can''t afford 8 books a week, (and yes, I read about 5-8 books per week), we have to get used books or borrow them from the library. I have a library, but at this point in my life I don't have money to spend, and that doesn't make me less of a reader. I know once I get up on my feet a (bigger) library will be the very first thing I work towards!

For the characters or plot question, that was me with Shatter Me. I really didn't care about the rebellion or the superpowers or whatever. I just loved Warnette so much and they're the reason I carried on reading

Physical books are too expensive on the long run :( Ebooks take less space, you can read literally anytime anywhere (like during breakfast lol) and it lights up at night yay haha but I wouldn't complain if I had all my books physical because they do look really pretty on shelves and most of the covers are just ugh
I took you for a hardcover type of gal! And definitely buy over borrow. I totally agree with you. Used books are cheap and there are so many really gently loved books out there that look brand spanking NEW!

mermaidkeeley i like short chapters too but not too short. Like when every chapter is 2 pages and theres like over a 100 chaoters in a short book its sooo annoying.

I hate paperbacks. . The last one I read was Jaws. I had to wait for it to dry out because I dipped it in the tub! I also mark and really make my books my own. I have a collection of postcards that I have accumulated over the year that I use for bookmarks.

I rarely find a bookstore where I live, When I find one and go in there the shelves are filled with Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus (not that I hate those books. just that those are the only YA fantasy or whatever books they have :/) so online shopping for the win!

Y'all should read Black moon Beginnings by Kaitlyn Hoyt. I love their series, they are e-books but you can get them on Amazon as paperbacks.
i suggest Then There Where None by Agatha Christie. Its my favorite book that she has written. It very intense with lots things that make you second guess who did it. I really really think you should read it.

Definitely read HP first! However, it isn't terrible if you decide to watch them first as they leave out so much content from the book. They are very different experiences! Maybe read a book and then watch its movie as you make your way through the series?

I really don't like to read audiobooks, I need something visual to focus on and I find that the narrators often times read much more slowly than I do. Maybe once I get a car I'll listen to them more, but they don't really appeal to me that much right now.
