So glad you finally heard this. You know, what's incredible about Tori is that, before she teamed up with Jim, she made dozens of covers by herself in her studio. She has a video at her site that explains how the Carpenters overdubbed their voices. She sings the individual parts into a multitrack deck until all the layers are there, then she plays them all back. So, she's not only got a great ear, but the chops to produce her own music. She also uses a professional sequencing program to do this on the computer. Oh yeah ... she sings too. :)

Dazzz, I really enjoyed your reaction to Tori. There's a lot more behind the story, and also recommendations. She has a great deal on Instagram and TikTok with somewhere over 15 million views on social media now. Her CZcams exposure is a bit more limited at this point in time but growing.
Jim Wilkas is a producer an audio engineer that discovered Tori and asked her to collaborate so they could produce a video like you just witnessed. They are in different parts of the country so recorded the various parts such as various instruments and his vocals and her vocals. All were put together by Jim to create this video. He is the genius behind the production, although Tori now is an aspiring audio engineer herself and has produced some of her own work. Yes, Tori was invited to perform at the Carpenter's 55th anniversary tribute at the end of April in LA. Her performance is one of the other videos I can recommend which she produced. This particular song was written by Richard Carpenter for Karen, but she passed away before she could ever record it. Tori sings this as a tribute at this event! Very special. It is called Something in your Eyes, STUDIO VERSION!
Unexpectedly, Richard Carpenter showed up at the event and she had the honor of meeting and speaking with him. He definitely knows who she is.
She also produced with Jim the Carpenter's Bacharach David Medley which makes a wonderful reaction in itself. A very difficult performance to reproduce!
But as you saw on her website, she has covered other artists also. Olivia Newton-John is one that she enjoys doing. Georgia on my mind is a wonderful recording. There is also an original which has a Carpenter's feel to it. Something To Believe In.
A couple of other things, she did a short recording of about 3 minutes showing how she reproduces the harmonies of the Carpenters in the studio. It's quite interesting. Secondly, she posted on CZcams recently a video of an interview with a radio station that found her.
Hopefully this will keep you busy for a bit, and I'm looking forward to more.

Hi Dazza! I’m Joe a friend of Ron. He told me this dropped. Loved your reaction and so good to know you’re a Carpenters fan. Me too, from 1970! Close To You is my genesis introduction.
I loved watching you get shocked by Tori! She has this way. LOL She doesn’t have a ton of full length songs/videos but she has some that are harder to find. I can give you some assistance in that way. CZcams introduced me to Tori last October. It’s been a ride, let me tell you. I went to the Carpenters 55th in April and met and saw Tori perform live. The official video is nice but doesn’t fully do justice to the performances as it’s in a Church and kinda boomy. Still, historic videos. Live is what live is. Being there was a life highlight, as a Carpenters fan. Seeing Tori on only her second time in front of an audience, something very special. All the videos from the 55th are on CZcams now. Including an interview with Richard who surprised most of us when he showed up on the last evening.
Now a few tips on Tori videos. First all the long form ones are only on CZcams. I’m not on Tik Tok but know that’s her main place for the shorts. I do use Instagram and I know many of the shorts there are longer than the ones on CZcams. So if you can snag videos from IG you’ll have more joy. Here’s two examples where you can see big differences from CZcams. Look for Crazy On You and Now. Both are substantially longer on Instagram. Yet CZcams has some that aren’t on Instagram at all (Tik Tok 🤷🏻♂️) like Because. She’s a multi-instrumentalist, guitars and piano and a little drums. Crazy On You is a guitar showcase. Her Beatles covers (together and separately) keyboards. Now and Then is amazing. She has said in referring to her drumming she “can keep a beat.” Well her guitars and pianos are wayyyyy better than that.
There is a “Topic” sub-channel with her two originals. Also Three songs she recorded at a studio in 2021 in Ohio are on Lauren’s channel. Search for her “Merry Christmas, Darling” and you’ll find all three. Those are audio only.
Her most recent is a redo of a song she performed at the Carpenters 55th in late April at the Church Karen’s funeral service was at. She wasn’t happy with the sound , a bit boomy, and she remastered it at her home studio. It’s the song Karen died before even hearing. Something In Your Eyes. Richard sang it with Dusty Springfield in 1987 on his solo album, Time. Tori essentially created the missing Carpenters song.

Thank you for this Joe, to be honest I rarely venture into any other platform other than CZcams but need to get with the times and head over to Insta, especially if there is more there to see. I have a reaction video coming soon to some of her TikTok videos but thank you for the suggestions, will certainly be adding them to the list.
@@Dazza010 great, I’m going to bet the TT versions are the longer shorts but don’t know for sure. But in general the longer the short the better it is. Crazy On You is a personal fave, she’s 4 member of ❤️. And yes that’s an Ovation acoustic just like Nancy played in the Japanese live performance in a wind storm. Tori’s is a 1979, since Nancy played that in 1977, without a Delorean, I’m assuming it’s an earlier vintage. LOL
Not going to add to what Ron and Joe are suggesting, they definitely have that covered. I would only concur with their picks, but did want to say that seeing a first time reaction to this video in particular never gets old and am pleased that it was your first opportunity to hear Tori. You didn't disappoint. Your suggestion of multiple shorts sounds like an awesome idea. Her ONJ shorts are fabulous as well. Thanks again for reacting and thanks Ron for requesting.
